Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
I was very impressed by the Laura Mercier setting powder. I am no expert at makeup, but I could easily figure out how to apply the powder. I did experience some cracking around my smile lines and under my eyes, however that could probably be solved... +
I was very impressed by the Laura Mercier setting powder. I am no expert at makeup, but I could easily figure out how to apply the powder. I did experience some cracking around my smile lines and under my eyes, however that could probably be solved with more makeup skill and experience. The powder matched my skin tone nicely, but it takes a few tries to find the perfect amount so as to not look too splotchy or ghost-like. I did breakout once or twice from applying over acne and applying with a heavy hand. This product is very versatile, easy to apply, and the best quality setting powder I have ever purchased. -

I purchased the Revlon PhotoReady Translucent Finisher to dust on my skin to mattify a dewy foundation. I was surprised to see that the "translucent" powder had turned my skin very pale. Not only was the colour a let-down, but the powder was not as fine of a grind as other setting powder, possibly dew to the very shimmery crystals in its composition. The powder was very drying and took all of the moisture out of my foundation, leaving bits of my foundation nearly crumbling off of my face. I was left with an uneven skin tone, and a cakey, dried, sparkly face: definitely not "photo ready"! -

I purchased the leave-in conditioner because I was having some trouble with the frizziness of my thick straight hair. I tried applying both the recommended amount and a little bit less than recommended and found that my hair became very oily. Even after massaging the product into my scalp, the end product was far too oily for my liking. -

This is product is hard to use for beginners. The kit comes with a brush that makes my eyebrows look choppy because of its circular head. Not included in the kit is a brow highlighter! Both brow fillers don't match my dirty-blonde eyebrows, which I consider a must. Very difficult to use, but may be excellent for intermediates. -
