It is quite messy and you do need to add multiple coats for a great result. I had to use about four coats so it is buildable. Its honestly not going to be my go to mascara but it is in my top five. I didn't notice any smell. The formula is kinda thin so it does get everywhere but easy to clean off skin. #covergirl #simplyageless #crueltyfree -
