E.l.f. products are so affordable so I decided to try this after seeing some youtube reviews. 1) if you get this, you absolutely have to scratch off the first layer because it is a baked product it has a bit of a hard overlay so when you first touch it, it will seem like it's not very pigmented and like a crap product. Scrape off the first layer with a nail or just rub around it a bit with a kleenex. If you do this, the product becomes quite a bit soft and much more pigmented. 2) You can also use this product wet to get more intense highlight. 3) I do find I have to use quite a bit of it in order to get the shine I want but I think that might be the brush I'm using, I applied it with my finger one day and only needed a slight amount to get the highlight I wanted.
Overall, good quality, good price. Just make sure you scrape off the top layer and use wet for more intense shine!

I tried it a few weeks ago and OMG, this product is awful. It burns the lips soooo badly. At first it tingles, then feels hot, then burns and stings. My lips turned bright red. I had to wipe it off because it was so uncomfortable. It plumped my lips but the sensations were just way too much for me, I couldn't handle it. -

I received this product as a gift. The consistency of it is very nice, it's a creamy-gel mixture and it's very lightweight. My face absorbs it pretty well but I wouldn't say it is very moisturizing, my face feels dry 20 minutes later. The major thing I don't like about this product is the smell. It is a very strong floral-alcoholic scent. I'm very sensitive with scents and wouldn't buy this just based on the scent alone. -

Since Special Effects is no longer available in Canada, this is the product that has replaced it. It is very good, very comparable to Special Effects. The colours are vibrant, and it smells amazing (I love the smell soooo much). I wish they had a bigger colour range and I wish the bottle was clear so that you could actually see the true colour but it is pretty true to the colour on the front of the bottle (that's just a slight complaint/annoyance for me). It is on the pricier side, especially when you can get colours at Sally for less than half the price but it is better quality and lasts longer so it is worth it in the end. -
