i have a phenominal kabuki brush by posh, but decided to pick up this elf one so i could take it on vacation without fear of ruining or losing it. i find myself reaching for it all the time. it's dense and soft, buffs product in flawlessly. when im in a rush, i use it to dust powder over my face just to combat shine. recommended for beginners and gurus alike. great brush, well worth the money.

i'm sure everybody's heard of this sponge -- it's constantly raved about all over the internet. i originally wasn't a believer, but then i decided to try it for myself and see what the hype was all about. well, now i know. this sponge is foundation magic! you run it under water until it expands (doubles in size) and ring it out so that it is still damp. you use it by gently "pouncing" it against your skin. the shape makes it capable of getting into all the contours of your face. it can be used for liquids, creams, and even powders. the finish is flawless -- you can sheer out heavier foundations (like revlon colorstay) or you can build up thinner ones. i'll link a video for you guys:

** i first purchased the ulta and sonia kashuk dupes, which are nothing compared to the actual beauty blender. however, i saw a video from a youtube guru use an online sponge that she says is just like the beauty blender. from what i can tell in her video, the sponge has the same feel and "squish" as the beauty blender for less than half the price, but i've never tried it to know personally. you might be interested in checking that out before splurging on the beauty blender. **

this brush is a staple in any kit. it's soft and fluffy, yet dense -- great for applying a light wash in the crease or on the lid and even better for blending. very comparable to mac's 217. http://www.sigmabeauty.com/Blending_E25_p/e25.htm

this is an average lid primer. i like the fact that it's yellow -- does a great job of neutralizing any discoloration on the eye, and a little goes a long way. however i do find that this creases almost instantly. the max i can get it to last is a few hours. it works well with too faced shadow insurancce/udpp, but why spend $20 on a product to spend another $20 on another product to make it work? the only real use i can see this for is neutralizing discoloration. i'll continue to use this for everyday use just to finish it, but won't repurchase. -

i don't find that this conealer is anything special. it is matte and heavy duty, good for concealing blemishes if you can find a shade to match your skin tone. it does a fine job at correcting and concealing under the eyes, very blendable too, but i do find that it can cake up over time and it really settles into fine lines. not worth the $, especially considering sonia kashuk makes a concealer palette for half the price that follows the same idea, only it does a waaaaaay better job.

these are some of my favorite facial wipes. they claim to remove makeup, cleanse, & tone, all in one easy step. they do indeed remove makeup, however i do not find them to be gentle enough for removing mascara. for that, i prefer that almay makeup remover pads. anyway, they are great for cleansing/toning in a rush, or just freshening up. my only beef with these is that they have a very potent, rather unpleasant smell. i've gotten used to it though, and it's not something that would keep me from repurchasing these. they aren't too pricy, about $5 (USD) at a local drugstore. i keep these in my purse in case of any sort of emergency, etc. like them a lot.
another great thing to note is that these are 99.1% natural, and biodegradeable.

i won't lie -- the only reason i justified buying this was because it looked nice. the quality of the shadows isn't really all the great. some are better than others but overall there were quite a few that were difficult to pick up on a brush. i don't like how all the colors touch -- it makes it difficult to pick up only one color, sometimes resulting in a muddy mess. the shadows don't have great color payoff/pigmentation, and some are difficult to blend. the colors are generally all the same.. just slightly different shades within the same palette which i find to be pretty but pointless. very disappointed, especially considering the price. -
