Over the last few years I've been slowly moving my cleaning products to more natural products but I still hadn't tried this cleanser from Seventh Generation yet, but I'm glad I did.
I was happy with this product because the scent doesn't smell as chemical-y as other all purpose cleaning products, and it doesn't linger long after I use it. I found this cleanser to do a good job on general cleaning, but it wasn't great with grease or oil spills/stains on the stove top, so if you used this product you may still need a different degreaser for those types of messes. The scent wasn't my favourite, it smells a bit more like a scented candle, but it didn't linger too long so it wasn't a huge deal.

I was curious to start using this glass cleaner as I have several mirrored sliding doors in my house, as well as many large windows that are always streaky thanks to cat noses. Unfortunately I found that this glass cleaner was no better than the average one on the market, and actually left slightly more streaks than usual, requiring a second go-around the next day in a different lighting. It's not terrible, but it's nothing special. The scent is ok so that's something better than a Windex competitor, but it's no miracle product.

When I was a teenager, I developed a sensitivity and a skin allergy due to the heavily fragranced laundry detergent that my family was using at the time. Ever since then I've avoided anything scented, even if it was a more natural detergent just out of fear of more skin allergies. I was nervous to try out the Seventh Generation detergent because of the smell, but I was also happy with the research I had done prior and was ready to give it a try.
I found that the Alpine Falls scent was not too strong or overpowering, but left a nice finish after a wash, and all my clothes came out clean without any residue or soap staining. Overall I'm really happy that this worked out, and I'll definitely look to continue using Seventh Generation detergent moving forward!

I'm a person who eats, drinks and sleeps with lotion near my body. I use it after coming out of the shower, after washing my hands, and before I go to bed. My hands are always dry, my arms are always dry, my legs and body too. I need and crave hydration and take it verrrry seriously.
I was excited to try the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream because I've never tried a gel cream like this, or one with hyaluronic acid. I usually stick to traditional cream lotions or body milks/souffles, so I was intrigued by the non-greasy promises. Upon initial use the product seemed fine, but I felt like the areas where I used the lotion became dry significantly quicker than if I had used a slightly less fast-absorbing lotion. I found myself having to go back again and again to moisturize, which is not super convenient when you're busy or on the go.
Perhaps gel creams are good for people who are slightly more oily, but this wasn't for me.

I've been very lucky for the last few months, I have combination skin and usually I'm simultaneously battling acne AND dry patches. But recently my acne has been almost zilch and I've maintained decent skin hydration. I have, however, had issues with visibly rough and uneven texture on my face. Nothing that anyone who is not INCHES from my face would see, but enough that it bothers me.
I've experimented with lactic acid, and various peeling masks in the past to tackle this problem, but glycolic acid seems to be the only thing that works. I've tried it in a cleanser, a toner and now, in this Vichy Idealia serum and I'd say this is my favourite so far. I find after about 10 days that my texture is improving and while it's hard to give long term opinions this early on skincare, I'm optimistic about the long term results. It's a weird, sticky product but it seems to do the job.

I've used Degree on and off for the last decade, they are one of my two main brands and I have a lot of confidence in their powers to keep my sweat-free and smell-proof. This Black and White Anti Perspirant Stick is another good example of their quality because it wicked away excess dampness, while also delivering decent smell-coverage without overwhelming me with the brand scent. I hate when you smell like whatever scent your anti perspirant uses, and prefer cleaner scents instead.
I wore this stick on a dark fabric tank top to test out how it worked with lower-slung clothes (did it leave a white ring on the top of the tank top or not) and I can gladly say it passed that test, I didn't find any residue sticking around obviously on my dark clothes, and while a few weeks is hard to tell, but it doesn't seem to leave a scent residue after the wash either. I'd definitely recommend grabbing one of these if this is what you're looking for in a stick!

I'm a simple man, with simple needs...when it comes to deodorant. First, it needs to have a pleasant and clean smell, but not be overwhelming. Subtly is the key. But it also needs to be something that doesn't leave any marks or stains. I don't want to see white streaks on my shirt after I put it on, and I don't want the armpits of my white shirts to turn blue. Degree Ultraclear has managed to consistently meet both of those requirements. I had given up on white sticks, but Degree has brought me back.

I'm a tea afficionado but when it comes to flavoured green tea, I always am a bit skeptical. I think this is because I recall when companies were buying very bitter green tea and adding flavourings to them to soften the harshness, this souring me to flavoured green tea for ages.
Pure Leaf does none of those things. This tea is a nice smooth green with a hint of refreshing mint, it doesn't overwhelm you with either flavour, and instead pairs nicely together. It's not the most complex taste but it's very much an easy sipper to start your day. I have already bought the Pure Leaf teas in the past and would again.

If you're addicted to your smartphone like I am, you've probably bought a half dozen cheap pairs of gloves over the last few years just because they provide haptic feedback to your phone. There's nothing worse than having to take your gloves off in -20 to check the bus schedule! So when I had the opportunity from the Chickadvisor Product Review Club to get a product from Soia & Kyo I KNEW that it would be a super cute pair of tech-friendly gloves to replace my dingy mittens! These suede knit gloves are a great addition to a winter wardrobe because they can be unrolled and used as upper-arm warmers, or doubled up to ensure no wind gets up your sleeves in the cold. I initially thought I would get the Carmel version of these gloves in the leather, but the tawny brown Autumn shade of the Indiana gloves stole my heart instead. While these might not be the gloves you wear to the ski slope, they work great for a Toronto urban winter, while looking super cute too. Add a two year warranty on it, and you won't see me buying discount gloves on Amazon again any time soon! -

I recently visited Soia & Kyo at Square One thanks to a Product Review Club opportunity. Having only heard of the brand in passing, I wasn't sure what to expect. I usually avoid the higher-end winter stores as I'm sometimes intimidated by sales staff or the price of items and would rather shop online instead, but I'm so glad I went to this store in person because it was the total opposite of what I expected. The store is spacious and open, and merchandised in a way that lets you feel comfortable touching items and casually putting them on. The staff were stellar, Rhianna in particular was extremely helpful to me when I told her what I was looking for, and managed to find me a pair of gloves that matched both my fall jacket that I was wearing, and a winter jacket I already had at home that I showed her the colour of. They did not do any awkward upselling and made me feel very at home in the store. I was also happy to see a variety of people shopping there, of all ages and backgrounds, I guess good quality goes a long way. :) While the prices are a bit higher than what I usually spend, a 2 year warranty goes a LONG way, so maybe when my current winter jacket wears out I'll make another visit! -
