I quite liked this product for taking off eyeliner, waterproof mascara, eye shadow, and concealer. It did not irritate my eyes or eye lids even when the product almost got in them. The bottle is well designed to control the amount of product that comes out and the oil-on-water effect the product has when you shake it definitely looks super cool. I did feel like I had to use a lot of the product though to get all the make up off. This makes me think that the bottle would not last much longer than perhaps 2 weeks before you would need to buy more. Given the price, I could see how this would be off-putting to people who are used to their cheaper alcohol based make up removers. In terms of big gentle, this product cannot be beat so if you want a gentle but effective product and are willing to spend a bit more this product may definitely be for you. -

I received this product free as part of a ChickAdvisor campaign and must say I was truly impressed by it. Very rarely does a product I review become a part of my daily routine, yet that is exactly what happened with these wipes. I will admit, I can be a bit lazy at times removing my make up at the end of the day. Water always ends up on the vanity, my shirt gets wet, it's all a bit of a hot mess that I am rarely in the mood for after work has stressed me out to the max. I can, however, find the time to just wipe the make up off with these wipes. They felt especially good after a work day that involved a lot of physical activity and sweating. Being able to just wipe away the day without making a huge mess made these enjoyable, almost cathartic to use. They also did not irritate my eyes when I used them to wipe off my eyeliner.
They do not however get absolutely all the make up off. To test this I used the wipe and then cleaned my face with a wet hot wash cloth to see how much was left over. There was still a small amount of foundation and concealer left especially under my eyes. I also was not keen on the design of the packaging. The sticky piece that seals the wipes in isnt too reliable. I would like these better if they were in a hard case like other wipes are so that i frlt more confidentctheyxwouldnt go dry. My boyfriend also wasn't too keen on the smell. He said it smelled a big like I had wiped my face with baby wipes. They do smell a bit like that so the criticism does stand. Having said that, I'd you aren't expecting any sexy times to happen and just want to relax after a long day without too much added hassle, these wipes may be for you.

I received Brookside Chocolate Tablet Bar in Mango Coconut Crunch for free in the mail as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. This was one of three bars I tried: Blueberry Amond with Acai Berry Flavour and Tart Cherry Crisp with Pomegranate Flavour being the other two I tested. I have to say, I loved this bar best of all three. Even my boyfriend who hates fruit actually enjoyed this bar. We literally had to share it down the middle whereas the other two bars, he wasn’t even interested.
The first thing I noticed was that the packaging makes it quite easy to save a portion of the bar for later. All you have to do is make sure you open the inside wrapper like a chip bag from the top so that it still covers the surface of the bar, then just place it back in the cardboard outer wrapping. This is especially useful for those of us who try to indulge our chocolate cravings in moderation or are utilizing a portion-control diet management system. I can’t say I left much of anything for later when I tried this one though. It was gone in one sitting between the two of us.
When I first opened the bar, the first smell I noted was that of mango and coconuts. Unlike the other two bars, this one’s name held fully and completely true to the name. I could taste and smell both the mango and the coconut in the chocolate in clear proportions. I loved how the coconut and the mango melded together for such a tasty texture in your mouth. It didn’t stick nearly as much as the blueberry pieces did in the other bar I tasted. This bar just seemed to provide such a unique experience. I don’t think I’ve had a chocolate bar before this with mango in it. It’s definitely not your usual chocolate, nut, caramel, cookie combination.
Unlike many dark chocolate bars, this one was not particularly bitter, almost having the quality of 50% cocoa as opposed to 70% or higher. If you prefer your dark chocolate strong as noted in bars of 70% cocoa or higher, you may find this bar too sweet to your liking. If you are someone who likes a sweeter bar, closer to middle of the road sort of cocoa content, you will probably enjoy it. You may even like it if you like milk chocolate. Overall this is a great product I will definitely be buying again if I see it in the local stores.

When I first opened the bar, the first smell I noted was that of chocolate and blueberry. I did not detect any hints of acai berry as the packaging suggested. This observation was also present when I tried the bar itself, though some of the tartness from the blueberries may be mistaken for the acai berries. The bar did have a nice balance between tartness from the blueberry/acai berry flavour and the sweetness of the dark chocolate. The extra bit of crunch the almonds provided was a nice touch with the tiny fruit pieces in the bar. The almond pieces definitely did do a wonderful job rounding out the overall flavour experience. It did provide a different texture from the previous bar I had tested though. The crisp rice pieces in the Brookside Chocolate Tablet Bar in Tart Cherry Crisp with Pomegranate Flavour did a better job melding with the fruit so it didn’t stick as much to your teeth. If you wear braces, it may be a good idea to use caution when eating this bar as the fruit pieces may cause you trouble.

Overall this is a great product but don’t buy it if you are banking on the acai berry flavor being the predominant sensation for your palate but if you love blueberries and chocolate, this bar may be just what you need.

When I first opened the bar, the first smell I noted was that of chocolate and cherry. I did not detect any hints of pomegranate as the packaging suggested. This observation was also present when I tried the bar itself. I could not detect any hint of pomegranate, but that is not to say the bar was not enjoyable. Certainly, the bar tasted akin to eating a good quality chocolate covered cherry (one that presumably has crisp rice pieces) transformed into bar format. The extra bit of crunch the crisp rice provided was a nice touch with the tiny fruit pieces in the bar. The two textures melded well with the smooth chocolate.

I received a coupon for a free "Dream" product as part of the Chick Advisor Product Review Club. I had originally planned on purchasing the Cashew Dream beverage but could not find it in my local Sobeys, No Frills, and Walmart. I instead purchased the vanilla-flavored Rice Dream product to test. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it really was. There was no odd chemically after-taste that you can get with some cheaper brands of soy-based milk-like beverages. There was also no odd or unpleasant smell. It just sort of smelled clean and milky.
Perhaps it was the extra flavor of the vanilla and sweetener to make it less bland but Rice Dream was really enjoyable to consume. I would definitely recommend drinking this product cold though as the flavours are not nearly as nice when warm. I even tried it in my morning coffee and with my chocolate vegan protein powder as a shake with great results. If you have a lactose intolerance and are growing tired of almond or soy milk, Rice Dream may very well be a great alternative for you. The price is quite reasonable and the product tends to have a long shelf life, unlike regular milk. I think I may next try to make some chia seed pudding with the Rice Dream to see how it turns out. Wish me luck!

Savvy Sun Protection
I received Coppertone Sunscreen Lotion Sensitive Skin Faces SPF 50 for free through the mail as a part of a ChickAdvisor campaign. Upon first inspection of the packaging, I was pleased with the design. I always prefer lotions to be packaged with the lid at the bottom so that the product flows to the top of the nozzle instead of settling backward away from the dispensing device. This avoids the inevitable shaking required when a bottle sits bottom-up. The design is very indicative of Coppertone products, which have always been emblazoned with the little girl and puppy. The familiarity of it was nice, and does have more of a universal appeal, meaning both adults and children could feel justified in using it. As an adult without children though, I think I would have preferred something more modern and stylish. After all, this is a product you’re taking along with your cute bikini to the beach.
I thought the scent was inoffensive, but not necessarily anything special. It smelled quite similar to how most sunscreens tend to smell. This did nothing to set the product apart from the pack but didn’t necessarily negatively impact it either. I did enjoy the fact it applied well. It felt silky smooth on my face and didn’t leave it with the stereotypical greasy feeling you can get with cheap sunscreens. I liked that it didn’t leave my face overly shiny in appearance as well. I did apply this product under my make-up and was pleased that it didn’t affect the application of powdered products at all. It also did not irritate my sensitive skin or cause any breakouts on my face, which was nice since I can be prone to acne with all the summer sweating.
Overall, in terms of sun protection, it worked quite well though I did have to reapply after going in the water and sweating profusely playing beach volleyball. I found in an 8-10 hour day 2-4 reapplications was your best bet if you have skin truly sensitive to the sun like I do. With the reapplications I didn’t burn, and to be honest, this is generally what I expect from sunscreens as nearly every one I have tried has required a few applications.
In summary, if you are looking for a great sunscreen which will provide protection for your sensitive skin in the summer heat, I do recommend this product…just be sure to reapply to get the best effect.

I received Trojan H2O Water-Based Lubricant - Sensitive Touch in the mail for free as part of a ChickAdvisor campaign. My first impressions of the design was that it was quite attractive and innovative. Both he deep recess in the front of the lid and the curved design made it easy to grip and open even with slippery hands. Considering this is a personal lubricant, that is an important selling point. When I opened the bottle, I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't have an overly synthetic scent. Some silicone-based lubricants do tend to have that "plasticy" smell but this water-based alternative was much cleaner in scent. In terms of usage, it did require reapplications every 10 minutes or so in the initial stages of foreplay until the natural lubrication of the vagina took a more center stage. It removed any sense of friction that can be unpleasant when providing pleasure with one's hands and fingers and gave the experience a slippery, silky smooth feel which I did find arousing. My partner also didn't find the taste to be overly displeasing either during the act of oral sex, so that was a plus. Many people find lubrication to be unpleasant tasting but this one had little taste. It did serve to make penetration much more smooth endeavour and there were no complaints of irritation from anyone involved. As this is a water based lubricant though, it did not perform well in shower intercourse as the water did remove some of the lubricating power. Overall, I would consider this to be a great product and would recommend this to others who want a lubricant that is safe for use with condoms and provides silky smooth lubrication when and where it is needed. -

I received this product for free in the mail as a part of ChickAdivsor's Product Review Club. Upon first inspection of the box, I was pleased with the design. It is sleek and attractive in a way that definitely made the Moroccan Argan Oil appealing. When I opened the box, I was surprised to see no strips to go with the wax. Many of the previous waxing products I've used have come with strips to apply the wax to, but these are meant to make their own strip as they cool. I was a bit skeptical of this at first, I must say. It did come through the microwave well, which is always a worry with microwavable waxes. They can become quite hot in a way that may burn your skin, but this one heated evenly and applied nicely to my legs.
Once it was time for the big test, the actual pulling off of the wax, I was impressed with how well it removed hair and still didn't hurt much. You expect some discomfort with waxing, you are pulling hair up by their roots after all, but this product pulled at the follicles in an even way that didn't make me feel as though there was any sharp pain. It even got the smaller hairs up by my knee, which was definitely a plus since I usually have to shave those after I wax because the strip doesn't conform to the curve of the knee. The after wipes definitely felt good after the wax and did a great job getting rid of that sticky feeling you tend to get after using a wax product.
Overall, I was quite impressed with Nair Cire Divine Moroccan Argan Oil Wax and would definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking to have silky smooth legs for over a week. Mine lasted nearly 2 weeks before I could really see the stubble coming back. My legs have quite thick hair too so that's impressive! If I was shaving, I'd need to shave every 3 to 4 days. Definitely give this one a shot!

This shampoo had a luxuriously creamy consistency that lathered well in my long hair. Even after only using about a tablespoon and a half of the product, a rich, bubbly lather covered my hair. I always love a good bubbly lather, it really makes you feel as though the shampoo is doing its’ job. The smell was wonderful as well, not too overpowering but definitely clean, as I have come to expect from Pantene. It also rinsed well in the tub and in the shower, without leaving too much residue or weight. I have fine hair so residue does end up making my hair limp and thin looking, so I was impressed with the result. Overall, I think I would definitely buy this shampoo the next time I see it. -
