I can't say that I'm a really big fan of Spectro Jel. I purchased this just because when I'm at my Dermatologist's office getting a peel they usually ask me to wash my face with Spectro Jel at the office. I purchased a bottle and have been using it for the past 3 months. It's way to gentle for my face. I don't think it does a good job of cleaning my face because when I use a cottonball and a toner it sure does collect a lot of dirt from the face after washing my face with the Jel. It hasn't improved my face when I break out. I think this product is probably good for people who have really sensitive skin and have dry skin. The one thing that I do find is that this product does not dry out my skin - I haven't seen any dry patches since using this product. I now use the product only when I need to wash my face more than twice a day - usually use it after I come home from work. -

Ok so for the past several years I've been buying the Clinique facial scrub - not sure why but I suppose there's a part of me that thinks if I pay a litle more I'm getting a better quality. Well I've got to say for the past 2 months I've been using the St. Ives Apricot Scrub and well I have been fooled by advertising. I love the St. Ives product. Not only is the cost of this scrub less than 1/3 of the cost of what I've been shelling out in the past, it's just as effective. The particles in this scrub are small enough that they don't cause any pain or do any damange. I love the light scent and the creaminess of the product. The apricot scrub definately buffs away all the dead skin and leaves my skin very soft. I've also noticed a difference in the way my skin looks - there's a glow to it and some of the discolouration has faded away. So ladies you don't always have to pay big bucks to get great quality.

I want to first thank Ali and the rest of the ChickAdvisor team for inviting me to the Womanity perfume party. Not only did I have a blast drinking pink champagne, I also met a lot of great girls that were a lot of fun and really interesting. Now to the perfume - I am a huge Thierry Mugler fan as I already use "Angel" and love it! We were informed at the presentation that Thierry Mugler wanted to make a perfume that was both sweet and salty. A little strange I thought at first, but after smelling it, not strange at all. The perfume is described as "A note of fig, with its juicy, fruity flesh, a diaphanous milkiness; then, a cheeky note of savory: subtle, troubling, almonst animal - caviar. Finally, the elegance of a woody accord of fig wood and leaf." When you first spray it on, it does have a strong "woody" smell, but after giving it 5 minute to breathe it changes to a very unique sweet smell, which must be the fig. I might be biased, but the perfume smells great on me. The bottle is pink, beautiful and includes an engraved motif. What makes the bottle really special is that it is refillable!! If you are looking for something that is truly unique and special I would highly recommend giving Womanity a try. -

Last week my boyfriend and I tried Buca located on King Street here in Toronto and I've got to tell you that I had one of the best experiences. While Toronto is a great city I find that we lack great restaurants that you would find in cities like New York and in Chicago. The restaurant definately has the feel of a restaurant in New York. We ate at 10 pm and yet there were lines to still get seats for dinner. The room was bustling with customers and was filled with a lot of energy. Not only was the atmosphere great, but so was the food. Try the fried olives with chorizo - they are to die for. Pizzas were very yummy and were served on a long wooden paddle and can easily be shared amongst friends. Pastas are freshly made. If you're looking for a great place to dine with your special one or with a bunch of friends I would highly recommend this place. I would suggest that you make a reservation through Open Table as this place is really really busy - and you don't want to be waiting for a table. -

I was very lucky to have been chosen to try out this product as part of the Product Review Club. I am confessing in being a huge mascara junkie - I have about 5 different brands in my makeup kit. I really liked the spoon-shaped brush as it really made the application to my eyelash very smooth, easy and helped to separate each of the lashes. While the mascara was not fully able to achieve the look of wearing false eyelashes it did lengthen and define each of my lashes and made them look somewhat fuller - perhaps thanks to the keratin fibre formula. The consistency of the mascara was neither too thick nor too watery - had the perfect mix. The one watchout with this product is that you can not wait to let your lashes dry to apply additional coats, as the mascara tends to leave clumps - but by applying multiple coats without letting the first coat dry, you won't see any clumping. The other great thing is that you can easily remove the mascara off your eyelashes - you don't need any makeup remover. Overall, I rate this mascara as being pretty good and would recommend to friends. -

If I ever got sent to live on an island and I was only allowed to bring 5 things with me - this would definately bet one of them. It smells great, (not too strong) and the product just absorbs on my dry lips so well. -

As part of the Chick Advisor Product Review Club I decided to try the Dulce de Leche Breyer's Smooth & Dreamy ice cream. I just love caramel swirls in my ice cream so this flavour was definately a great choice for me. As far as ice cream comparisons goes - this one was pretty delicious. The texture was very smooth and very creamy and guess what ladies (and men) - HALF THE FAT!!. Although HALF THE FAT, it didn't really taste "light" and it's pretty comparable to the Full Fat Breyer's ice creams. I've tasted several "light" ice creams in the past with a lot of disappointment as they always taste a little funny, watered down, which wasn't the case with Breyer's Smooth & Dreamy. I wouldn't even know that the ice cream was half the fat unless I read it on the packaging or someone told me. Perhaps it's the breakthrough new Cream Press System that is used to make this product which breaks apart the cream into tiny droplets and spreads them out throughout the ice cream??? Ah the Breyer's Smooth & Dreamy mystery!!!!
I would definatley recommend this ice cream as an ice cream, not necessarily as a "Half the Fat" alternative. My girlfriends' are going to love me for letting them try this product - I'm throwing a girl's night out on Friday and we'll eat lots of this product, that is if I actually have some left by this weekend.

I recieved this product about a week ago to test out and provide a review. The packaging was interesting as it didn't provide a whole heck of a lot of information about the product and had many different languages on it. I do love the fact that the serum comes in a pump format which helps to control the amount of serum on your fingers as well as keeps it clean from the environment and fingers. The serum claims to soften, rejuvenate, improve skin suppleness with organic ingredients such as babbassu oil. I have combination skin but depending on the weather and my stress level my skin can become really oily. I did get some breakouts on my chin - -although not fully sure whether it was due to the product or the fact that I've been a little stressed. I noticed slight changes on my skin. My face does seem a lot softer and does have a slight glow to it. I do have some acne scarring on my face and didn't really notice a big change in helping the scars. The serum is very light, a little watery which is great as it doesn't feel heavy on my skin. A serum you definately want a little watery for easier application on the face. The one thing that I didn't like too much was the scent of the product. It had a very earthy, organic smell which kind of reminded me the scent of Aveda products. It's not overly overpowering (does go away), but you do have to get use to the smell of it - I think you either love it or hate it. At $25, not sure that I would fully recommend the product to my friends (a little steep in price) as I have used products that are less than $25 that provided me with the same results I saw with this product. I would however consider purchasing the product if it was on sale at Body Shop. -

I was very excited to have been chosen to try and review the Vim Cream Lemon Cleanser. As soon as I received the product, I started thinking about what to clean first. It's been just a little under 2 weeks of using the product - but I've been using it almost everyday...hmm...maybe I am a cleaning fanatic. I really like the bottle shape - it's a slender bottle and fits really nicely in my small hands. I also love the bright yellow colour of the packaging. The first thing that I did was flip open the lid and took a whiff of the scent. It has a lovely fresh lemon scent and unlike most cleaners, the scent was not overpowering. Loved the fact that after cleaning with it, leaves the area smelling lemony fresh. It's a cream based cleaning product, which I like because it stays on the surface, not watery. The front of the lable says "with microparticles" which gives it the extra cleaning power and which I will assume gives it a bit of that granular texture of the cream.
I couldn't resist but to try and clean my dirty white running shoes, which I had a plenty of mud and dirt on it. I remembered watching the tv commercial where the mom cleans her kid's running shoes and was a little curious to see if it would work well. I was surprised that just like the commercial did an amazing job on my dirty shoes. I just used a small amount on a sponge and didn't take long until my shoes were gleaming white again.
I have been using the Vim Cream almost everyday - in the bathroom cleaning up after my "messy boyfriend". It cleans my bathtub like a charm and my sinks. Gets rid of all the stains and soap scum. I also use it in my kitchen everyday. I use it to clean the kitchen sink which is always a little dirty and dull at the end of the day, but with a little Vim Cream the sink is back to the shiny stainless silver colour. It also does wonder if you have any food stuck to your stoves, comes right off.
Before using Vim Cream I always used Comet and the Mr. Clean spray, but I have to say that I now prefer the Vim Cream over these products. I am very happy with the results so I highly recommend this product. I will continue on purchasing this product.

Since I have the most shortest/lack of eyelashes I'm always on the lookout for any mascara that enhances the eye. The Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Mascara Duo caught my eye while shopping at Wal-mart as there was a free mail-in rebate. Purchased the one for "Brown Eyes" just because what would I lose? The purchase price was a little over $15. The product claims: Dual-ended volumizing and lengthening mascara that enhances eyes with illuminating color for ultra-dramatic & glamorous lashes; Perfectly coordinated shades can be used alone or used together for multiple looks & customized lashes; Luminous Lashes, Dramatic Volume, Glamorous Length, 24 Hour Wear; Clump-free, flake-free, smudge-free and fiber-free. So did the product deliver????? NO WAY!!! I was really disappointed. I did like the actual container - looks unique and kinda cool. However I didn't feel that beyond the look of the container, did it deliver on all the claims. First of all the brush was way too big which made it really hard to use. There are two sides, the side with the colour (green eyes: green, brown eyes: purple, hazel eyes: pink, blue eyes:blue) and the other side had the regular black side. Since I purchased the one for "Brown Eyes" it was black/purple. When I put the purple shade over the black, it didn't really create that dramatic look that I had anticipated. The product came out clumpy and just did not look attractive at all on my eyelash. I know that the product claimed 24 Hour Wear - but seriously I couldn't test that one out just because I couldn't wait to remove the product off my eyelash....LOL.
