I was gifted Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Regenerating Cream from Chick Advisor for free and asked to provide a review. All opinions shared regarding this product are my own. I have been using this product for 3 weeks now. The product claims to be a “rich moisturizing cream” that delivers a high concentration of retinol “deep into [the] skin’s surface”, producing younger looking skin in just one week. Further, the product claims that 100% of testers experienced visibly smoother looking skin. Impressive! Needless to say, I was eager to try this product.
I am 35 years old, with two small kiddos keeping me up at night and I live in a dry climate. With my hectic life, I want a cream that will be deeply moisturizing, minimize signs of aging, and make me look well rested. It’s a lot to ask. So how did this moisturizer stack up? Read on for all the details!
When I opened the jar of my new Neutrogena product I noticed that this moisturizer has an interesting whipped texture. It has no fragrance at all, which for me is a huge plus. I have noticed in the past that some “fragrance free” products still have a distinct smell, which can be unpleasant. This one does not. It is truly fragrance free.
The instructions are to apply a “pearl sized” amount to the face and neck of freshly cleansed skin twice per day. There is a warning that the moisturizer can cause some minor redness, tingling, and flaking skin. If this occurs, the instructions are to decrease use to a frequency of once every other day, and then build back up product usage as the skin adjusts. Given the whipped texture of this product, I found it hard to determine how much is a “pearl sized amount”. To start with I applied as directed, twice per day. However, after the first week of use I woke up one morning with what appeared to be a minor chemical burn around and under my eyes. The skin around my eyes was very red and the whole area burned. Worried and uncomfortable I discontinued use for three days until the symptoms subsided. Thereafter I cautiously began again, using a smaller amount of moisturizer, and applying only once every other day, in the morning. After a few days of this, with no further irritation, I increased use to once every morning and have remained at this level.
Almost immediately after beginning this product, I noticed my skin looking brighter and smoother. I need less makeup to make myself look awake and rested. However, I don’t find this product “deeply moisturizing”. My skin feels dry after all the moisturizer has been absorbed. As mentioned, I live in a particularly dry climate, and I’ve found I have better results if I apply my regular moisturizer after all the Neutrogena product has all be absorbed.
In summary, this is a great moisturizer to “wake” your skin up and increase smoothness, but it is not the most moisturizing thing I have tried. Overall, I recommend this product and I intend to continue using it!

The only thing I wish could be improved with this product is that I do not find it very water resistant, even though it is advertised as such. -
