When it comes to laundry detergent I am very particular. I'm also very loyal to one particular brand. I tried this for the first time just last weekend because I was given a free sample. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. I have two very active school age children who are positively filthy by the end of each day. Whether it's baseball mud or pencil crayon, this detergent gets it out. It also smells amazing! I have every intention of using it again. -

I was recently asked by Alexandra Cioppa here at ChickAdvisor, to test the new L'Oréal Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Glow Renewal.
I reluctantly agreed to do it, despite some reservations about putting oil on my face. Was this a recipe for greasy skin?? I grew up hearing that you should only ever use water based products on your face. I am also nearing forty and I need to preserve my youthful appearance -- what little I have left of it!
Alexandra proceeded to tell me that facial oils are a huge trend in Asia; which immediately caught my interest.
So, I investigated further and I learned that the benefits are indeed plentiful. As it turns out, a good quality facial oil is a great emollient and can actually repair damaged skin, even tone and fight wrinkles.
I have only been using it a short time now, but I am already seeing some changes. Most significantly, my skin looks well-hydrated and has a beautiful glow. And best all of all? Nary a touch of grease to speak on.

I was recently asked to review the Clarins Double Serum.
I'm rather serious when it comes to face serums and as such I have tried many, including a couple by Clarins.
Despite reasonably healthy eating habits and a somewhat active lifestyle, my skin is aging. It just isn't as radiant as it once was and fine lines are starting to appear around my eyes.
I have been using the Clarins Double Serum for 6 weeks now and the results have indeed been noticeable. After the first week, my skin looked more radiant. After four weeks, my skin seemed firmer and my complexion more even.
This is a solid product and although it isn't cheap ($85/30ml), it's on par with many of the other serums.
The truth is, you can't go wrong with this product or any product made by Clarins! They have been in the beauty game since 1954 and are deeply committed to using plant based and natural resources.

I was recently asked to review the Bite Beauty High Pigment Matte Pencil, Meritage.
First, you should know that I don't own many lipsticks. I am a minimalist by nature and only have a couple at any given time. I tend to wear safe colours - nothing shocking! Up until now, I never knew that lipstick can look like a crayon. And, I certainly had no idea there was such a thing as "food grade" lipstick. So, this experience was indeed a bit of an education.
When Bite Beauty generously sent over several different colours for our office to test, I of course went for something muted. That wasn't going to fly with the ChickAdvisor crowd. The very stylish twenty something's in my office suggested that I make a 'statement' and go with a bright red. Though I didn't take what I suspect was excellent beauty advice, I did go bolder than my usual.
Here are my thoughts: The lipstick glides on easily. The colour is simply gorgeous and looks fabulous on - day or night, weekend or weekday! It is super creamy and feels great on your lips. My only criticism (and it's not a big one), is that it doesn't last long and needs to be reapplied often. That said, I absolutely love it and like any good minimalist worth their salt, I threw out an older lipstick to make room for this one - out with the old and in with the new. It's my new go-to and has made regular rotation.
I'm definitely planning to pick up another colour. Who knows, maybe Scarlet!
