There is a reason why I would only cautiously recommend this bad boy cult favorite concealer. It is appropriate for a specific skin type, and that is not mine. My under eyes are as dry as the Sahara, and the Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer sucks out any of the remaining moisture, emphasizing lines, getting patchy, and creasing like crazy. It is not the right product for me. But my friend who recommended it to me loves it (and suffers from very oily skin). I will continue to experiment with the product to see if I can get it to work for me, but as it stands, I cannot approve of it for dry skin. It is very high coverage though, which I am sure many people would love. -

I have had all the various foundation phases; tinted moisturizers, full coverage, medium coverage, BB/CC creams, matte, semi-matte, dewy, powder and many more. You name it, I have tried at least one foundation of that category. But at 25 years old, I have come to settle for one type of finish, one that does not feel like I am wearing makeup on my face. I do not enjoy the feeling of something on the face resembling a mask or being dewy and greasy (settling in all the nooks and crannies of the face...). The MAC Cosmetics Face and Body Foundation is the perfect middle ground for me. I have breakouts, hyperpigmentation, and persistent redness, all of which are somewhat covered by this foundation. But most importantly, it evens out the skin tone without like anything more than skincare that absorbs nicely into the skin without any residue. It brightens up the face instantly and reduces the visibility of imperfections. If I ever need more coverage, I opt to get that out of a good concealer rather than slathering my face with a heavy foundation. The only thing that knocks it down from a perfect score is that MAC is not a cruelty-free brand. -

I only purchased this shampoo last week but already noticing a massive difference. I have tried nearly every shampoo available in Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall (Canada, woot woot) for controlling dandruff and scalp psoriasis without much success. In spite of reading some mixed reviews, I decided to give the AG Control Anti-Dandruff Shampoo a chance. So far, I am liking it after three washes! It feels tingly and amazing on the scalp and I could see a reduction in the flakes almost immediately. There are really only two caveats; the price and texture. It is a higher end product, costing a whopping $28CAD for 355mL of product and it can feel somewhat drying if you do not have a moisturizing conditioner to follow up with. To me, these were not an issue as I have a wide array of hair masks and conditioners, and I am willing to shell out a little extra for something that works. It also does not have tar in its ingredients, which can just be awful for your skin (and smells terrible!). I feel that if you can afford it, it is worth a shot! -

Now, I will not claim that this shampoo transformed my hair. It did not. But what it did do was play an affordable middle ground between my harsher sulfate (SLS) shampoos and the much gentler sulfate-free shampoos as I tried to get my hair used to washing with them. I did not try the conditioner, but the shampoo was just cleansing enough that I did not leave the shower feeling like my head was greasy. It is important to keep in mind that if you are switching to a sulfate-free routine, you need to also stick with products that are either silicone-free or at most contain water soluble silicones (PEG 8 and above). Pantene's Rose Water Shampoo is that trusty, reliable old pal you can always revisit and rely on. -
