I love perfume. I am a total fragrance junkie. There is something very magical and romantic about the process of choosing and combining different notes to make one finished scent. I am, however, quite particular with what I like and don’t like, when it comes to fragrances. So I was not sure what to expect when I was given a sample of Thierry Mugler’s Womanity at the Chickadvisor testing party (which was amazing by the way, thanks to everyone who organized that event!)
We were given a brief intro to what Mugler was attempting to capture with his scent, part of which was to represent the many sides of womanity- everything from the salty to the sweet. To hit the sweet notes fig and fig wood was used. To hit the salty notes caviar (that’s right, caviar) was used. It seems like an odd mix but once I tested the fragrance I fell in love. I found that when I smelled the fragrance on its own, it came off more sweet than salty but once it hit my skin, it mixed to create a beautiful saltiness, almost spiciness, which I found very empowering. The fragrance lasted a long time but I found that the saltiness began to wear off to reveal more of the sweet undertones. I didn’t mind this but I loved the spice of it so much that I re-applied anyways to keep those notes fresh.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone, although I don’t think that it will fit everyone’s taste. I loveee it!
I also really like the bottle. I know many people dont really think about the bottle but Its part of the process for me. The bottle is very much like a statue. and I love the silver face and chain details. Its looks quite gorgeous sitting on my bedroom shelf.

I was a little hesitant in trying the Joe makeup line but I am not really sure why. I love Joe fresh clothing, I have used their makeup brushes and they rock but for some reason it took me a little while to get around to the makeup. I started with their lip stain because I have been in the market for one that is natural looking and not too drying. I tried the shade "watermelon" and its a perfect match for my skin type. It gives you a hint of colour without being overly obvious. It wasn't to drying either but I still loaded up on lip balm after I applied the stain. It lasts a really long time which is great for a low maintenance look that looks polished but not great if you have clumsy application skills (keep makeup remover on hand for those days!) -

Not that I am necessarily anti- large corporation or anything (I stll love my Starbucks) but there is something to be said about a cozy neighbourhood coffee house. Prana coffee had such a relaxed atmosphere. There are books over the fireplace that can be read at any time, huge round pillows in the bay windows and vintage-y chairs and tables. I felt like I could stay there sipping my nonfat caramel latte all day. The coffee is freshly roasted and its AMAZING. I know I am a coffee-aholic and if necessary, will drink any coffe available but it was so rich and fresh and tasty. Prana coffee is the result of four generations of coffee roasters.
All the baked goods are baked on site as well. I recommend the chocolate zucchini loaf (even my 4 year old scarfed it down) The staff was also super friendly and spoke to me like I was a regular even though it was my first time going. I loved it and i am definately going to be chilling there whenever I get the chance.

I am usually a fan of Covergirl but I was pretty disappointed with their Exact Eyelights Mascara. I have green/blue eyes so I opted for the purple shade specific to green eyes. While I liked how it was slightly tinted with colour, it seemed like it wasn't enough to make my peepers pop. I have light eyelashes as well so I literally had to coat them over and over to get any sort of effect. (I eventually resorted to putting on black mascara first and then using the eyelights over that to add a little bit of brightness.) It was also kind of flakey and it definately did not last all day. The price point was right, just not the quality. Perhaps the other shades are more effective. -

Aveda's Brilliant medium hold hair spray is perfect. It keeps my locks in place without making them look glued down or super crunchy. I can use it to create almost any style and it even adds shine. I love the scent too. It smells yummy and natural (it has organic camomile!) and not at al like some of the other sprays that smell like chemicals. Love Aveda, -
Cover FX Conceal FX Camouflage Concealer
This concealer is killer!! I love it. I am not usually a fan of concealer, because it tends to look obvious and globby but this one went on smooth and blended in completely with my skin. I am super pale, so the xtra light shade was a perfect match... +
This concealer is killer!! I love it. I am not usually a fan of concealer, because it tends to look obvious and globby but this one went on smooth and blended in completely with my skin. I am super pale, so the xtra light shade was a perfect match. Aside from being easily blended and actually covering up all my "imperfections" my favourute thing about this coverfx product is its lasting ability. While some makeup products smear and wear off half way through the day, this one kept on going!! I could go the entire day-morning to night- without ever having to do touch ups. Brilliant!! A little also goes a long ways with this concealer, which makes it completely worth the money. This is my first experience with coverfx and it has been great, I can't wait to test out more of thier products.
