I got this as a gift from my sister. Honestly, before she gave it to me, I had no idea what this brand was about. So I looked it up and apparently it's really good for the hair. So I tried it out for a few weeks. It has a really nice smell and is quite thick. Because it is so thick, I would take a little bit at a time and then apply it to my hair.
Overtime it does seem to have restored my hair. Before using the treatment my hair was always too wavy and somewhat dry. But now, it has more a curl to it and it's not dry. The only thing that I don't like about the product is that it doesn't help too much with the frizzyness problem I have with my hair.
I would recommend this to anyone who might have damaged their hair because of hot irons, but keep in mind it won't help with frizz.

I heard about this on a morning talkshow and thought I'd try it out. Maybelline generally did not have a foundation that I felt would fit my skin tone, since I have a darker tone than what they seemed to usually cater to. On the talkshow the lady was demonstrating this line on an audience member that had the same skin tone as myself. It was the shade 320 and that's the one that I purchased.
It offers a moderate coverage and is a bit creamy so it goes on smooth. I really like how inexpensive this product is. It has become the product I use for work and just other regular places. It does become oily a bit after having it on for a while, but then the powder should help with that situation.
Overall, this product did not replace my current brand that I wear when going out for special events, however it is definitely part of my daily routine of work and other regularly visited locations.

I found out on a Wednesday morning that the only spot open for me to take my graduation picture was the Thursday. I called Aveda and found out they had a spot open for 1:30pm the same day so I booked it and went for it.
When I got there, my stylist was waiting for me. She sent me downstairs to put on a robe, way better coverage than the conventional piece of cloth put across your chest.
When I came back up she asked me what I would like to drink, this was my first time here and I was loving it. I asked for water and was then seated. She told me to choose an oil, I thought it was weird that she was going to put oil in my hair but I went along with it. Then she told me to close my eyes and I got a delightful little massage!!! Did I mention this was my first time here, didn't have much time to research them so I had no idea that I was getting a massage.
After the massage and my wonderful wash, she started on my cut, she was a beginner but her manager would come by often to ensure she was on the right track and that made me feel reassured.
It took about an hour and a half but she took her time and did it right and it looked great when she was done.
My entire experience there was nothing short of wonderful. They treated me well and I got excellent service. I am definitely going there for my next haircut.
Oh and the price is superb, $39 after taxes and of course I gave my stylist an handsome tip.
If you want a salon that contains the zeal of a stylist that still has the passion for cutting hair, this is the place to go. These students are learning and willing to do a good job and you have the security of knowing that their managers are watching their every step.

I like having a morning routine, makes it easy to remember to do some vital things. Washing your face with a great product would be something I would consider to be vital. I have slight acne once in a while, especially when my monthly friend visits.
I bought the Clinique Acne solutions cleansing bar about 2 months ago. I use it every morning and every night and it is definitely a product that will remain permanent for my morning routine. It helps to keep away the little pimples and it doesn't make my face feel dry. Mind you I use a moisturizer anyways, but only because that's part of my routine.
The other great thing about this bar is that it lasts for a very long time. Spending almost $14 and it'll last for a few months is definitely worth it. I would recommend this to anyone that has mild acne and are looking for a product to add to their morning routine, one that won't break your budget.

Every Tuesday I have a very hectic schedule. I work and then head off to Ryerson for two night classes!!! Yes two!!! My day starts at 6am and ends at about 11pm and mind you I have to head to work the next day for 6am again. So mid-way through my day I feel like getting a boost, a natural one because I don't do energy drinks or coffee.
So I started going to Booster Juice and tried all their shakes and smoothies and whatnot. I love them all but my absolute favourite would have to be the High Impact Acai high protein smoothie. So delicious and so refreshing. I have a soft spot for the Acai fruit because in Guyana, where I was born and partially raised, we had this fruit there readily available and though I can't get the real thing here, this is a great alternative. Plus it's healthy, has many great nutritious benefits and it definitely gives you a boost.
I would recommend this to everyone for any reason. If you need a boost, if you need something tasty, if you need something nutritious, if you need something refreshing, if you need something to help with your diet, whatever you need, I would say get this juice, it's worth it!

So I've been bad and have neglected going to the Dentist for over 3 years! I got really good coverage at a new job recently and decided to use it. I live nearby this office so after checking out their awesome website I booked an appointment. The receptionist was friendly over the phone and gave me a good feeling about this place.
So I enter the office and wow! The waiting room is not your conventional waiting room, a huge, colourful fish tank, awesome center piece and a big screen tv showing Iron Man are set throughout.
After filling out the forms and only a 10 minute wait, the receptionist took me on a tour of the office. I have never had a tour of a Dental office before. She showed me the room where you can get free coffee and wifi access. A laptop that has internet access is available for use, she showed me the room where they go through a 3 step process to sterilize the equipment.
I was then shown to a spacious room, that had a tv on the wall and on the ceiling! There was a huge window in front of me so that as I sit down in the chair I can look at the tv or outside. I was shown a tour through my mouth using a little camera that was shown on the tv screen. I was shown my x-rays and given wonderful explanations of what I was seeing.
The lady cleaning my teeth took the time to tell me the names of the devices she was using and also what she was doing. They gave me a wonderful package at the end and I left there very pleased. I have found my dental home and will be going here for a long time.
Oh and they also had a very chic children's play room, and a massage section that has two very comfy massage chairs. They also have special rooms for children, that offer a more child like environment for them. My son is going here when he turns 3 for sure!

I have heard so many great things about this novel about fellow Canadian Lawrence Hill. So I decided to put my library card to use and borrowed this book. It gripped me from the first sentence to the very last. I cannot express how amazing this book was. Lawrence Hill was able to combine historical events and the emotional ramifications of these events through the main character, Aminata Diallo. I felt like I was being put in the steps of this character and felt every painful experience she felt. This book made me cry! Even though it's fiction, the historical events are portrayed in a way that you are indeed reading a bit of history as well. Lawrence Hill is an amazing writer and this book reflects that. I highly recommend borrowing or purchasing this book. I am going to buy it to add to my list of favourites. While reading this book you will be taken on a journey of emotions and you will become like the main character who is deemed a "traveling soul." It offered a lot of great insight about slavery and the events behind it. Amazing book about good, evil and the triumphant human spirit over the evils people face. -

So I was one of the lucky ladies chosen to attend the event where we would be presented with the Thierry Mugler perfume. I really enjoyed the event. It was nice to put some faces to the members on this page, including Ali and Pamela. As well as meeting some nice people.
The mood was set well to present the unique perfume. We heard a great intro speech from a wonderful girl (I feel so bad, I forgot her name.) My first impression when I smelt the perfume was, wow this is different. It sprayed on a woodsy scent but then eventually simmered to a soft, sweet smell. As our group concurred, it goes on differently on everyone's skin.
I don't believe this will take over my current favourite perfume, but it might start to grow on me the more I wear it.
It definitely is not one that you spray on too heavily, as it is quite powerful. I would suggest spray lightly and then rubbing in and the good thing with this perfume is that it will not fade like some perfumes do as the day progresses, instead it's like 3 perfumes in one. You start your day smelling one way and end it smelling another way, and it's all wonderful in its own way when you get accustomed to having a spray that contains figs, salt, caviar and fig tree.

I love the smell of this product. One day at work, my co-worker offered me this lotion when I asked for hand lotion, and I fell in love with the smell. It's very summery, light and pleasant. It is one of the popular brands sold at Bath and Body works. I use this as a hand lotion, it leaves my hands smelling nice and it has enough moisture to get rid of the dry feeling that is left behind when I wash my hands. Bath and Body works usually has a buy one get one free or other specials, and when they do, I restock. I haven't gone all out, but I know that if you purchase the shower gel to go along with the lotion, the smell will be long lasting. -

So I finally got to see this much talked about movie. I am a huge fan of Leonardo Dicaprio and starting to become a fan of Joseph Gordon Levitt (500 days of summer and 3rd rock from the sun star). I saw this at IMAX and enjoyed every single second of this movie. I was gripped from the first scene up until the last scene. The acting is superb, the story line will blow your mind away, and you will be left talking about this movie long after it's over. It has definitely joined my list of favourites. If you are looking for a movie that makes you think as much as a good book does, this is definitely for you. If you are simply looking for a visually impressive movie, this does that as well.
I am trying to not give any details about the movie as to avoid spoiling it for anyone because it is definitely a ride you should take on your own. All I can say is that this movie took me away. I forgot I was watching a movie and was completely immersed in the plot and the characters. The casting was perfect, the storyline was amazing and I am definitely going to get this movie when the DVD is available.
