I received Nutrience Grain Free SubZero Dog Food as a free trial from the Product Review Club. And I'm SO glad I did! Since I thought about the fact that dogs don't actually eat grains in the wilderness, I started wondering how their bodies process grains. I'd been thinking about this before I was given the opportunity to try Nutrience Grain Free dog food, and I can say that I actually think this food has made a difference in my 2 dogs. I have a 2 year old Whoodle and a 10 year old Bission/Maltese cross. Since trying our Whoodle on this food, she has calmed down quite a bit and is not so hyper all the time ... it's been nice. Our older guy has been more active, and his "poops" have been much better (he has had chronic diahrea all his life!). This is no longer a problem! Both dogs love the food - we tried the Canadian Pacific type.
I rated the quality as 4 stars because, as I'm not an expert, I cannot say with any scientific evidence anything specific about the quality. I can say that it has been the only change we have made with our dogs, and both have better temperments and scramble to eat their food each day.
The cost is high, like many of the quality pet foods these days. If you can afford to spend the extra $ on your pet, I really would recommend a grain-free food. Other benefits of the Nutrience Grain Free SubZero dog food are that it is sourced from within Canada (and being Canadian this is important to me!), and it has both regular kibble and freeze dried protein bits for ultimate nutrience. I really did like this food for my dogs, and have bought it since.

Boursin Cheese
A crumbly soft cheese, that is too good not to try! My favourite is the Cranberry & Black Pepper, but their Herb & Garlic is really yummy too! Perfect on crackers! I make little appies with Boursin often when entertaining!

I have eaten Mackintosh's Toffee for a looooooong time - ever since I was a little girl and my Grandpa gave it to me! I love the smooth buttery taste! You can take a bar and break it into pieces, but my favourite way to eat it is to just suck and chew on the end of it to get it soft and gooey and slowly work my way through it. Gross-sounding, I know, but there really is nothing like it! One of my favourite treats!! I also sometimes freeze it, and smash it into tiny bits while still in the package. Then we use it on icecream or for baking. -

Well written series about a future society/societies with a very strong female lead. I thinik the entire series is good for tweens and up - there are no explicit or inappropriate words (but there are scenes of war - some sad stuff, but nothing horrifically graphic or disturbing). The main character must "play" a life-or-death game set up by the governing society in order to return to her sector (society) alive. She finds an ally in the game that is meant to have only one survivor.
I've read the series several times. I'm happy to say that while the movies do (of course) miss a lot of the books' detail, they do at least stay true to the original story line (at least this far into the movies ... one more still to be released).

I tried the Arm & Hammer Truly Raidant Toothpaste, with my regular being another whitening toothpaste. To be honest, I only tried it one time, so I cannot speak directly to the overall effectiveness of the whitening it may provide. I did not like the taste or the texture at all. To me it felt like a powder/paste in my mouth - it was not smooth and the taste was not the strong minty flavour I tend to like from my toothpastes. If you are sensitive to strong flavours, this may be one for you to try! -

I love Chapman's Ice cream!! And here's the kicker ... it's REAL ice cream. Not ice milk or worse - a "frozen dessert." With Chapman's I know I can trust that their ice cream is just that! Their checkerboard ice cream is a super fun treat for the kid in all of us - no scoopers here, just a nice "slice" of ice cream and you get all the fun that comes with the checkerboard. Also, the packaging is PERFECT!! It has a open flap the length of the box - no opening at the end and then getting your hand all gooey to get the ice cream at the bottom of the box! The vanilla is creamy and sweet and the chocolate is just right - not too rich, not too heavy, just perfectly smooth chocolate. Although at regular price, Chapman's can be a bit more expensive than some ice creams (often because the less expensive ones aren't real ice cream), their products go on sale at various stores quite regularly! This is our family's second Chapman's ice cream, right after their mint chocolate chip! -

We have the Roku 3. It is the best electronics purchase we have made for our TV's - really, for any TV that isn't a "Smart TV" (aka internet/app ready). The Roku allows us to stream netflix, youtube, cineplex store, flixter, and a million other channels, as well as just suft the web on our tv. The USB plus allows us to play any tv show/movie that we download and put on a memory stick or (for us) an external hard drive. Our Roku make the difference for us going from full cable, down to totally basic cable - which we will probably get rid of entirely in the next few months. A very useful purchase! -

I purchased the Foreo LUNA Mini and am IN LOVE. Truly. This was such a great purchase - and I even got the special edition one with the little turtles on it! Easy to use, easy to clean, feels good while I'm using it and I can use my regular wash with it. I tend to get some flaky skin around my hairline in the winter, and the LUNA has been very effective at keeping my skin flake-free. I've been told that I can use an exfoliator with it, but I'm not sure that I would, because the small bristles and vibration would likely just hold the exfoliation beads within it, rather than giving a better scrub. I'm sure I will give it a try, though, because the Luna Mini is so easy to clean that it wouldn't be a problem if it didn't work out. I like that there are two different settings. Only one "con" ... the natural position of your hand leaves your thumb right over top of the on/off switch. I've found that I accidentily change the setting and/or turn it off as I'm going along, just from how I hold it. I wish the button was in a different space. Other than that, it's truly perfect - it's a great size, a perfect shape, and the silicon bristles are just right - not too hard or too soft. -

I love the Burt's Bees brand - I just watched the documentary on Burt, which makes me like the brand even more, to be honest! I am "Pro" Burt's Bees because they do not harm the environment, they make quality products and because they run their company in an honourable way. These are all things that draw me to a brand, but if I don't like the product, I move on. In this case, I'm staying put. Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm is my go-to for the fall and winter because it's thick - it really coats my lips. My lips tend to dry and crack with the change in weather, and this balm keeps them supple and healthy, without having to re-apply every few minutes. I like that there are a variety of balms to choose from, with colour and without, with flavour and without. I'm partial to Burt's honey lip balm. I also like that they come both in a little round, flat tin and in tubes. Burt's Bees Lip Balms are quite a bit more expensive than some (and less than others), but I find the quality more than makes up for the price. I will pay the price - both because of the company's values, but also because I can expect to go through 5 less expensive tubes of lip balm in the time I can go through one of Burt's Bees. -
