I purchased a Dairy Queen ice cream cake for my birthday last year and it was a fantastic decision! The year before I had purchased a cake using a groupon deal at Baskin Robbins, and while it was okay, it definitely didn't stand a chance against DQ's version. I find all of their desserts to be a bit on the pricey side, but you can occasionally get a coupon worth a few dollars off if you sign up to their newsletter or go to their website. They also decorate the cake with your choice of writing, and can add cartoon characters and objects to the cake for an extra fee. My personal recommendation is peanut butter cup ice cream and vanilla cake! -

These are a delicious variation of regular twizzlers because they are piped with strawberries and cream soft filling. I know they're definitely not something to be eaten all the time, but I pick them up from time to time when they are on sale at different stores. Regular twizzlers are still good but a sweet filling gives them something extra. I am anxious to see what other fillings they might want to put in. A great thing about them is that none of the flavouring has that overpowering fake taste you can get with some other candies. -

I purchased this 45 capsule size bottle of Nature's Bounty Turmeric Curcumin + black pepper from Shoppers Drug Mart and have been taking one per day ever since. Each caplet is 1000mg which breaks down into 900mg of turmeric, 95mg of curcumin and 4.65mg of black pepper. Simply taking turmeric and curcumin is not enough, as I discovered through some internet researcher, as black pepper is necessary for your body to properly absorb the turmeric and curcumin. The life changing properties of turmeric and curcumin have been widely discussed online, and a few of my doctors had recommended it to me for different reasons. The bottle claims that the capsules will have anti-inflammatory effects to help relieve joint pain, as well as acting as a liver protectant. I recently found out that I have a slightly fatty liver, and I want to do what I can to protect it from progressing, which includes taking these capsules. Turmeric and curcumin are also supposed to have a positive effect on those with anxiety and depression. I can't say it is really helping me specifically with my anxiety and depression, but I do feel a bit better overall physically. Just as with fish oil pills, these capsules are very large and sometimes hard to swallow, but they have to be that size to contain 1000mg, so I just grin and bear it. -

I purchased this 120 softgel size bottle of Wild Salmon & Fish Oils from Loblaws and have been taking one per day ever since. The directions actually say to take three per day, but I find that to be excessive. Each caplet is 1000mg and contains 180mg of EPA and 120mg of DHA, which together help to promote good organ function. I saw that oils with DHA had been specifically recommended for women with polycystic ovary syndrome, as we are more at risk for heart and liver problems. I have been taking them consistently for two months and they have been helping me feel healthier overall. My two complaints with them are: 1) the size - they are enormous; 2) they will give you a small case of the 'fish burps.' I have seen some brands of supplements out there that promise no fish burps, but I'm not sure that's possible with salmon and fish oil softgels. Exact is the no-name brand sold at Loblaws, Superstore, etc. chain and was a few dollars cheaper than the brand names. -

In a pinch, these are great razors. I feel like they are quite easy on the skin and I've had them last quite a few shaves. My number one razor for frequent use is generally the Schick Intuition, but I find that the soap fades away quite quickly and that the shave it gives only stays smooth for a day or so! Razors like this give a much finer shave on my legs, and you can buy them at all drug stores and supermarkets which is great. The price of refills for other razors is just too high sometimes, especially for the Intuition. -

I've been using Jamieson Biotin 10,000mcg (10x stronger) for about a month now and I have already seen some marginal improvement in hair growth. I am taking it because I have poly cystic ovary syndrome which results in thinning hair and hair loss. The price is right, and I am happy to be supporting a Canadian company. I find it odd that mine came in a 45 capsule bottle, as that is only a month and a half. I would like them to consider having 30 or 60, not just 45. According to the bottle it should only be used for one month consistently at a time, and if you are using it beyond that you should consult a doctor. However, as it's part of the vitamin B family, your body naturally gets rid of excess anyway. Follow the directions and you'll be on the road to better skin, hair, and nails! -

I've tried the orange flavour of this drink several times before making my review. The company has a promotion at the moment where you can be sent a free sample along with a high value coupon. Normally I wouldn't buy a whole box of the pouches but with the coupon I am definitely considering it. I'm not sure that it does follow through on its claims, or even how I would verify them, "to prevent infections, bruising, colds & flu, sinusitis, sore throats, blood clots, atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, physical and mental stress, weak immune system, cholesterol levels, liver toxicity and collagen formation with added vitamins, minerals and electrolytes," but I am always happy to get more vitamins into my diet. That being said, I haven't gotten a full blown cold for nearly a year, so maybe it is working its magic. -

The price of Urban Decay products is usually out of my price range, but I decided to take a chance on this bronzer, highligher, blush palette when I was at Sephora a while ago. I don't wear makeup that often anymore, but I have given the bronzer and highlighter a good test on some nights out. It is very pigmented and definitely helps to accentuate my features, but I don't think I can use it to its full potential. I'll need to study up on contouring and just generally being better with makeup to make full use of it. The price is quite high so I'm not sure I would recommend it to everyone. -

This is my favourite deodorant and has been for the past couple of years. I tried a bunch of different gel and spray formulas, even the ones that say clinical strength, but Degree's line of Motionsense deodorants has worked best for me. I often stock up when I see a sale at Shoppers Drug Mart and get some bonus optimum points. Right now I still have four to get through but I keep wanting to buy more to have a nice prepared stockpile! I wouldn't say that it lasts for 48 hours as it says on the container, but because of medications I'm taking I do sweat a bit more than others might. The scent is fresh and clean without being overpowering. It can withstand some summer weather and a workout at the gym as well. I would recommend this to friends and family and will definitely be purchasing some more soon. -

The price is so right with these flip flops, especially when they have their special sales and you can get them for just a dollar! I have been buying these in various colours and patterns for over fifteen years. Although with heavy use they don't last more than a season (with my walking), they are worth every penny because they're comfortable and I always have at least a few pairs spare waiting for me. -
