These mini magic sticks are my cheap&chic;go-to product!! Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical at first, a lip stain that promises both moisture and longevity seemed far too much like an oxymoron to me and reeked of a marketing gimmick...but still, I was intrigued. It took just one coat for me to fall in love! The highly pigmented, miraculously matte shades (of which there are 8) have the same texture of a creamy lipstick and is applied with an applicator wand. A single coat will cover the entirety of your lips like an opaque veil, and after 30 seconds of absolute stillness, the stain dries to a matte finish. In a few minutes the stain sets in and the colour is locked onto the lips refusing to budge. Fast track to 3 hours of wear and tear (morning coffee and bagel a mid-morning snack), the stain is still proudly on my lips! And what of dryness? There is none! My lips feel moisturized and the stain has not caked at all!
Result after a full 9 hour work day: reapplication needed once after lunch and a bevy of compliments on the shade! Not bad for a lip stain that costs a grand total of $14CAD and $12USD.

Having thin, flat hair myself, I know all too well creams, serums, mousses, and gels can leave our hair type feeling dull and lacklustre. Living Proof Thickening Cream is light weight, smells of delicious lemons, and not only adds incredibly volume to hair, but leaves it shiny and soft to the touch!
Pro Tip: when styling using a cream/serum/gel never apply the product directly onto your roots. This can leave your hair feeling oily and weighed down. Instead apply the product from mid-shaft all the way to your ends and let the formulas work their miracles!

Priced at 23.00CAD, this miracle worker potion is worth the cash. I have incredibly oily eyelids, enough to deter me from wearing eyeshadow for over 5 years! It always creased no matter how many face primers I tried, hence my skepticism when trying this particular brand. Imagine my surprise when a 1/4 of a pea size amount of this product was all it took to cover the entire eyelid (up to the eyebrow) area, and gripped on oh-so-tightly to all shadows! It's amazing for BOTH power and cream based shadows and even grips liquid eyeliner so well that the mere thought of the word 'smudge' is laughable.
Guaranteed amazingness!

I am an independent coffee shop lover, and my absolute favourite cafe in the city [Toronto] is 'Moonbean Cafe'. Located at 30 St. Andrew Street, in the heart of Kensington Market (the city's hub for all that is hipster cool), the quaint cafe offers top-grade FAIRTRADE coffee in a variety of exotic and signature blends, for great prices! They also house over 60 (yes, you read that right) different tea blends for those fancy it, and the food (yummy sweet nibbles or savoury treats - my fave being the spinach and goat cheese stuffed bagel) is scrumptious! Deliciousness aside, what I love most about the cafe is the 'la dolce vita' charm it exudes. At any given time a local artist may wow you with melodious tunes or great poetry which results in a sense of community that keeps customers so very entertained, and loyal. My fellow caffieneistas, if you're looking for brilliant ambience to go with your cuppa jo, I definitely recommend 'Moonbean Cafe.'

This tinted moisturizer may be a tad on the expensive side (and sold exclusively at Kiehl's boutiques in Canada), but it is worth EVERY single penny! I have a lot of facial scars from my cystic acne days (long gone, thank God!), and usually prefer a full coverage foundation to hide the discolouration. After being introduced to this product, I never again went back to the heavy foundations. It's lightweight, AND offers AMAZING coverage considering it's a tinted moisturizer! I use it every single day, and it's actually IMPROVED the look of my skin by helping even out my complexion. Oh, and the SPF factor is a plus! Buy it, buy it, buy it...you will most definitely love it!
Side note: it's only available in three colours - light, medium, and dark (I'm a medium). So you'd be wise to try it before you buy it.

I've tried many long-lasting lip colours before, and I'll say that Maybelline is right on par with the more expensive department store brands. Although the colour didn't last a full 24 hours, it certainly lasted a solid 5 or 6 - which is pretty darn fantastic in my books. Unlike its pricier counterparts, this lip colour smells great (Cabernet smelled of grape juice-yum!). Remember to exfoliate your lips before you use this product because if you apply the colour on dry/chapped lips, the outcome is flakey lipstick that feels like grain on your pout. Also, reapplication of the lip balm is key as long wearing lip colours tend to over dry lips. All in all, if you're heading out for an evening, I would definitely recommend this product! I'd rather be on the dance floor than in the washroom reapplying my lipstick any day! -

I have to admit that I have fallen in love with this shampoo, conditioner and leave-in. First the scent is so invigorating! It's an energetic blend of pomegranate and grapefruit - delicious! I've been using the products for two weeks and my hair DOES feel softer to the touch, and because the shampoo is protein enriched, my hair is prone to less breakage. I'm usually skeptical about hair care that is 'nourishing' because in my mind, that just means a creamy, thick, heavy formulation that weighs down my locks and leaves it looking lifeless. These products however, do just the opposite! I use the shampoo every alternate day and the conditioner twice a week (only on my ends). On days that I don't use the conditioner, I spray the leave-in generously into my damp hair and once it dries, my hair is soft, has body, and is easy to style! -
