Finally a quick & simple solution to making protein bars! Not only can you guarantee these protein bars will be fresher than prepackaged ones but using a mix enables you to customize (add/change ingredients, portion control, etc.). I also like seeing first-hand that the ingredients are wholesome & all-natural. And they’re super easy to make (just make sure you line your cookie sheet with parchment paper so they don’t stick to the pan)! I tried both the Gingersnap & Apple and Cocoa Hemp & Almond varieties and enjoyed them equally. Don’t let the price tag shock you - once you see how much it yields you’ll quickly realize what good value this is. This is also a great activity for kids - not only did mine enjoy making them but we were able to make both adult & kid-sized bars so we could all enjoy them. Freezes well. -

Finally a quick & simple solution to making protein bars! Not only can you guarantee these protein bars will be fresher than prepackaged ones but using a mix enables you to customize (add/change ingredients, portion control, etc.). Aveeno Absolutely Ageless Leave-on Mask

Considering it’s a mask and has SPF it’s very lightweight and absorbs well therefore it’s non-greasy. The scent definitely has a hint of blackberry though I find it to have a slightly medicinal smell. I don’t care for the scent all that much though it goes away quickly, as does it absorb quickly. The effect on your face is long-lasting and it leaves your skin soft, supple and plump. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it reduces fine lines & wrinkles, I think that’s somewhat deceptive. That said, it does do something: it plumps your skin to a small degree thereby stretching the face. It’s very subtle but enough to make the skin appear tighter, just not enough to reduce wrinkles (not even fine wrinkles with regular use for a couple of weeks). Perhaps it needs to be used long-term to realize the effects of the “pre-tox” it touts, but it regardless it’s still effective and a good product. -

I found this to be a very high quality brush. I can tell it’s going to last me a long time. My experience with this brush makes me want to try out other brushes made by this company. The choice of materials they’ve chosen, that is, what the bristles are made of, is excellent. The shape (that is the way they are arranged) is perfect. The handle is nice and thick and feels sturdy. The handle is thicker than other foundation brushes I’m used to and I like that a lot.The density of bristles is perfect, especially for applying a mineral powder. My only complaint is I wish the brush were a little bigger. -

I already own a twist-up brow pencil which I love, the Benefit pencil is quite dry compared to it though. However it wasn’t until I tried this Benefit pencil that I realized it helps to blend better by being drier - it’s much easier to layer colour than to deal with my soft brow pencil that often goes on too thick. What else set this pencil apart was its shape, the tip is angled so I can draw my brow from one end to the other all in one sweep without having to lift the pencil from my skin, thereby shaping it perfectly. You really can’t goof it up, no wonder they call it Goof Proof! In addition there’s a brush on the other end which is exactly the right thick/thinness. My only complaint is the lack of colour selection though that’s common to brow pencils. There are supposed to be testers where I was shopping but they were missing a couple so the sales associate and I took our best guess and unfortunately it doesn’t match near as well as I’d liked (the packaging was no help). I also think it’s a little overpriced. Other than that I give it 2 thumbs (rather, brows) up! -

This was given to me as a gift and admittedly I’d have never bought it on my own the way it’s priced. I couldn’t fathom paying that much for mascara ...until now. I still think it’s a little overpriced but for the most part this stuff is worth paying more than double of the top-selling drugstore mascaras. I couldn’t believe how long and full it made my lashes! I didn’t think it was possible to get this much volume & length from a mascara alone! It worked quite well with my eyelash curler but if you don’t have one this stuff is still guaranteed to make you look fabulous. Although I find it a bit overpriced still you get good value for what it is (there are many others of equal or greater price out there that don’t work as well as this) and I’m never going back to my old mascara again! I was so impressed in fact that it led me to spend more than I normally would and try more of Benefit Cosmetics’ other products (this mascara was my first experience with them). -

I just got dental implants that are bridges so I needed something to really clean around areas that are nearly impossible to floss effectively. I was impressed with not only the wide variet of heads (there was even one designed specifically for implants & bridges) but the number of them (enough for the whole family to use). I couldn’t believe how well it worked, it gets food etc. out much easier than flossing. And when you use it after brushing when your teeth look/feel clean it’s amazing what more comes out! It comes with a large unit and a smaller one for travel and I thought it to be good value. Each one has a plastic holder to house the heads, one of the holders is built into the lid of the main unit but the heads aren’t easily retrievable so it’s impractical. Plus there’s not enough space in the holders to house all the heads (though there are elastics built into the lid of the travel pouch to secure them, like a makeup brush set). The travel pouch is really handy but the unit itself has no lid, I find that to be a drawback because at home we use it for everyday use as well. And I find the main unit too small, I fill the water chamber every other day and that’s inconvenient. I was so disappointed that my main unit died just a mere week after getting it! At least I have the travel one to use until I have time to return it. I think instead of exchanging it I’ll try and return it so I can purchase one with a good reliability record and ratings since I don’t know whether I got a “lemon” or if these models are associated with breaking down. Besides as much as the travel unit is handy the main unit is just too small. The size of the packaging and imaging of it was misleading. -

I was thrilled to find Tom’s made a whitening toothpaste in spearmint, my favourite flavour! I wanted a gentle-flavoured toothpaste that would be just as effective as a regular one and I found it! It tastes great - all of Tom’s toothpastes do - and what led me to them was I have an extremely sensitive mouth, virtually all toothpastes make my mouth feel like it’s on fire. But Tom’s doesn’t bother me at all. Finally no more kids toothpaste (though they do make them) - I finally got the spearmint I’ve been longing for! This gentle flavoured toothpaste is free of artificial colours, flavours, fragrances, sweeteners, animal products, additives and preservatives. Tom’s products are healthy not just for the body but for the environment: all their ingredients come from recyclable and/or renewable natural plant-based resources. And they’re not tested on animals. Prone to cavities, I require a fluoridated toothpaste so I use the fluoride version (Luminous White Toothpaste Spearmint), asides from the fluoride it is identical to this toothpaste in every other way. It has a bit of an ultra-fine sandy texture that’s mildly abrasive so it really cleans your teeth but it lathers very well and isn’t chalky so it’s not bothersome at all. It’s great tasting and leaves your mouth feeling fresh, yet it’s mild enough that you could drink something immediately afterwards and it wouldn’t taste bad. I was looking for a mild-tasting toothpaste and finding one that was both natural and effective was a huge added bonus! I haven’t one negative thing to say about this product. It is marginally more expensive than regular toothpaste but well worth it, especially considering all the benefits it carries!
