Purple Pancakes… But Make Them Waffles!
Instead of pancakes this time, I decided to switch things up and make waffles using my waffle maker. My goal was to turn the entire package into a freezer-friendly meal prep for busy mornings. It delivered beautifully. One full package made 14 waffles, now tucked away in the freezer and ready for quick, nourishing breakfasts on the run.
What I really appreciate about this mix from Sixteen Grains is how simple and intentional it is. Minimal ingredients. No unnecessary extras. Just thoughtfully made, farm-fresh goodness straight from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It’s the kind of product that lets you feel good about what you’re feeding your family.
It’s also a wonderfully economical way to feed the family. One package stretches far, reduces food waste, and makes mornings faster (and calmer) without relying on expensive boxed breakfasts or takeout. Having homemade waffles ready to go in the freezer feels like a small win both nutritionally and financially.
The flavour deserves its own moment. Made with Saskatoon berries, these waffles have a naturally sweet, berry taste that’s comforting and satisfying. The best way to truly gauge the flavour is to try them plain. No fruit. No maple syrup. No whipping cream. And I did exactly that! And honestly? They’re absolutely delicious on their own. The berry flavour shines without being overpowering, and the waffles don’t need toppings (though you could certainly add them). That’s always my test of a great mix and this one passes with flying colours.
Buying local and supporting Canadian-made products matters deeply to me and my family, and this is exactly the kind of brand I feel good about bringing into our home. It’s comforting to know where your food comes from and even better when it aligns with your values.

For years, my bathroom has been a revolving door of L’Occitane products. From their iconic hand creams to their almond shower oils, I’ve tried quite a few products in their collection. I have yet to find a product that doesn’t feel like a small luxury.
My new ritual lately is the Shea Nail & Cuticle Oil. I’ve been testing it out for a week now, and it has quickly become the step I look forward to most in my routine.
It has a soft, clean scent which reminds me of baby powder. It’s subtle, comforting, and incredibly soft. It’s not a harsh chemical odour you often find in nail treatments.
What really sets this oil apart for me, though, is the applicator. Instead of a messy dropper, it features a built-in brush applicator. This makes it so easy to swipe precisely over each nail and tucks right into the cuticles. The design ensures maximum hydration absorption right where you need it.
As someone who tries to be conscious about what goes onto my skin, the ingredient list gives me total peace of mind. It’s paraben-free and phthalate-free, but the real star is the Shea butter. Knowing that the Shea is sourced from organic and fair-trade origins makes the "self-care" aspect feel a lot more meaningful.
After just seven days, my cuticles (which have looked so ragged lately!) look nourished and polished. It’s that "fresh manicure" look in a tube.

They’ve got a little sweetness (but not too much), making them more of a sweet chip than a savoury one and honestly, I’m here for it.
It’s like autumn snuck into a chip bag and sprinkled in just the right amount of cozy flavour.
Beyond taste, these are guilt-free snacking goals: kettle-cooked, gluten free, non-GMO, no trans fat, no cholesterol, and no artificial anything.
Plus … they’re made in BC’s only potato chip manufacturing facility which means every crunchy bite supports a Canadian-made product!

I recently added the L’Occitane Almond Hair & Body Mist to my routine, and I’m obsessed. First off, the bottle itself is so chic! It looks gorgeous sitting on my bathroom vanity and adds that little touch of everyday luxury I love.
But the real magic is inside. The scent is absolutely heavenly … soft almond with a hint of warm vanilla that instantly transports me to the South of France. It feels fresh and light, never overpowering, and I love that I can use it from head to toe. A quick spritz in my hair and on my skin and I feel refreshed, pampered, and just a little more put together.
The formula is light, non-sticky, and comfortable, which means I can layer it with other products or wear it alone when I want something subtle yet uplifting. It’s one of those products that makes you feel spoiled in the best way and it’s definitely earned a permanent spot on my vanity.

It’s alcohol-free, so there’s no burning sensation. You can literally swish it around for two full minutes without any discomfort.
What really impressed me is that it whitens without peroxide—huge win for anyone with sensitive teeth and/or a diamond on your tooth like me!
There are no artificial dyes, colours, parabens, or sulfates either. It just leaves your mouth feeling super fresh and clean, without any harshness—or the risk of your diamond popping off because of harsh chemicals. 😅
Fun fact: It’s the #2 mouthwash in the U.S. and #3 in Canada—and now I totally get why. This one’s definitely earned a permanent spot in my bathroom cabinet. 💯
