Let me just start by saying, I LOVE THIS MOVIE. I thought it was very funny. I was torn at first because I "heard through the grapevine" that it "is the female version of The Hangover". And the hangover is NOT my kind of comedy at all. All those phrases you hear, like "the last fling before the ring", drive me crazy. If you are in love with someone and you "take the plunge" and decide to get married why would you want something like that, why would you do something like that to your partner, soon to be spouse, the last partner you will ever have in your life. I was very happy to see this movie was nothing like that, I mean yes the bridal party went to Las Vegas but we never actually saw anything but the plane ride that got cut short. This movie truly portrays the life of a woman in a stressful time in her life. I can totally relate to most of the female characters in the movie.
Annie's adult life is a total mess, she is having a relationship with a man who only wants one thing, then she meets an amazing man and she blows that because she's so confused. She feels replaced as her best friend, Lillian, is getting married and has a "new" bff. Jealousy takes hold of Annie and some uncontrollable turn of events happen getting her kicked out of the bridal party, she is replaced as the Maid of Honor by none other that the woman she felt was trying to take her place in Lillian's life, Helen. Later she finds out that Helen doesn't have the picture perfect life that she pretends to have. He husband is never home, her step children hate her and she only wants what we all want, some real friends. Annie is too busy holding onto the past regrets she has and the feelings of abandonment by her partner who left when her business fell apart that she doesn't see the things that are right in front of her. The feud between Annie and Helen started from the first minute they met, you know that person you judge before they even open their mouth and prove all of your assumptions to be true. Fighting for the place of Lillian's best friend proves pointless for Annie, she says all these great ideas and then Helen uses them once she because Maid of Honor. Annie can't handle it anymore and snaps. On a rampage she single handily ruins the wedding shower after the theme, that she picked out and Helen stole, and then the gift from Helen for the bride to be, to go to Paris. That was it, her boiling point, she flipped out and got kicked out of everything, even attendance of the wedding. All of the women have their problems, and they all hide it well, except Annie. I feel this movie shows what we all know, women are emotional and sometimes crazy. The actresses all did a fantastic job in this and I loved each and every one of them.
I was quite surprised by the performance of Melissa McCarthy who played Megan, she was no Sookie St. James I tell ya. (Gilmore Girls fans will know the reference) I loved the part, and she did an amazing job in it too. I watched the movie with my husband last night and he loved it as well. We will always remember "It's a bear sandwich.....it's meat and cheeses"
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie. Finally a real view on the way woman think under stress.

I reluctantly watched this movie because the idea of a "hall pass" from marriage is revolting to me. And the movie is just exactly that. Men are pigs, married to amazing women and they still can't stop looking at other women, like they are missing out on something in their own lives, and marriages. Talking amongst their friends about the "hot" girl at the grocery store or the coffee shop (like the blonde in the movie), instead of just enjoying the life they have, the life that at one time they wanted. Why do men feel they are missing out on something, why do they have to long for something better. THE GRASS IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER. The two characters in this movie that I actually like are Rick played by Owen Wilson and his wife Maggie played by Jenna Fischer. Maggie is the one who said that Rick could have the hall pass but later realized it was she, herself, who wanted/needed the "break" from their marriage, but not really their marriage, just a break from watching her husband stare at all the super skinny women who don't have stretchmarks or saggy boobs from having children. She wanted to feel loved and appreciated and she wasn't feeling that at home. She thought if she could let him go out and get turned down then maybe he would realize how amazing she is and show a little appreciation towards her and stop looking at all the other women. So she packed up her children and when to the cottage. He rented a hotel room and then started the week of very slow, realizing that these women weren't actually interested in him. He later hit it off with the above mentioned coffee girl. One night he finally gets his chance, but then he realizes just how great his wife was, and the error of his ways. He turns down this completely gorgeous super model looking naked woman and heads to the cottage to get his wife, the woman of his dreams, the love of his life, only to find another man's car there. Afraid of what he would find, he entered slowly, happy to find his wife alone and then he tells her that she is the only one he's ever been with in "that" way. She "was his first, his last and his everything in the middle"
I love the way the movie wrapped up in the end. Even though some men don't appreciate what they have, some just need a little push to remember all the reasons why they love their partner.

When Disney first came out with the movie Cars my son wasn't yet born, but it didn't take him long to love it once he was old enough and of course Mater is his favorite character. This year, 2011, Cars 2 was released and Mater has become the star of this animated movie, with all the merchandise coming out in relation to this movie Hasbro brought forward, yet another, Operation game. It's just like all the other ones but it's Mater and for my son's happiness in pulling little plastic pieces out of Maters body and try to make the buzzer sound, yes I did say trying to. He's only three what more do you want, it makes noise he loves it. This game for money's sake was not worth the $20 I spent on it, (because we already own two different Operation games) but for filling my son's heart with more Mater stuff it was totally worth it. :) -

When my husband and I have some extra money (not very often with four children) we like to go to Montana's. We call it our "Family Place" when we go out and the children know exactly where we're going. They have a good menu for children, and terrific deserts, the little ice cream cones are a hit for my babies every time. The atmosphere is great and the best part is the table. You go to most places and they give your children a little tiny placemat for them to color on, which usually ends up on the floor more times than you can count. Not at Montana's. My children spend the entire "wait time" coloring ON THE TABLE. Then entire table is covered with a roll of paper and they doodle, so do mommy and daddy shhh. We never get that antsy, impatient feeling, drink refills are free and all and all it's a great place to take your family. If you're just going out or want to embarass them with a "happy birthday" dinner. It's a wonderful place to dine. -

Where I live there is not much choice for me as to where I'm going shopping. Walmart is one of the TWO stores in my area that has a shopping cart to accommodate two little bums in the seat. I need that. The convienence of not running after my son because I bent down to pick something up off an awkwardly placed bottom shelf. Yep, Walmart is great. I can walk into the store and know that I am going to be in complete control. I'm going to get everything I need from pet food to people food, clothes to movies, car supplies and hardware. It is a wonderful place for me to take my four children because the prices are so great that I can say "okay, today you can get a treat if you're good" and they are and I do get one and it's GREAT! I love Walmart, it's this mom's one stop shop for all my household needs. -

We had seen the trailer to this movie on another we had just recently purchased and my older two girls wanted to see it, so when we were browsing the aisles in Walmart today and I saw that it was FINALLY here we just had to purchase it. We loved the previews, my youngest daughter refers to it as "the funny movie with the sign that the truck drives away with", once you watch it you will understand the reference.
We watched it with dinner, which we don't normally get to do, but I said we could watch it tonight and we were running late so we did both at the same time. And we laughed, truly enjoyed it. If you have young girls or are one of those people who just love reminiscing this is a great movie. I don't recall any fowl language in Prom. I really enjoyed it, as usual the good girl falls for the bad boy and she softens him, he hardens her. It's a story of finding who you are and realizing that everything you've done for the last four years (high school) doesn't really matter. It all boils down to that one night. You will be remembered for the dress you wear, the shoes, the hair, who you come with, who you leave with. I for one never went to my prom which made it kind of sad for me. I know silly. BUT It's true. Even as an adult I can still watch movies like this and look back at the times in my own life and think "yep, that's how it is, was, will always be". New kids go to prom every year, sophomores only dream of going, rarely being asked. And although the theme changes year to year the story stays the same. The good guy doesn't always get the girl at first, but the smart girl realizes in the end where she should be. This movie is very much how I can imagine prom to be nowadays. The characters are believable, lovable and realistic. They aren't all out there, it's not a popularity contest, it's nice to see a movie about "the other kids". I liked it a lot, go out and get yourself a copy today.
I know that we will watch this movie time and time again

I have four children, my oldest is almost 11 years old now, and I have used Penaten in the little blue tin since she was born, up until my son was born it was my diaper rash preventative choice. I never had diaper rash experience so it must work, right?! Well, when my son was a baby and in diapers I used it for a little while, but then I discovered the most fantastic thing every parent should have for their babies PENATEN® Daily Clear Protection Cream. I love that unlike the tin of "butt paste" this tube of cream does not stick to my hands and leave a white blotch of cream that I had to use a baby wipe to clean off if I was in a hurry, and that wasn't easy. I didn't like having to scrub the paste off, but this new cream is amazing, I love it. I used it for my son and continue to use it for my daughter. I give it away to everyone I know who's having a baby. I truly believe it's great and I want other moms and dads to enjoy it as much as I do, or at least be given the chance to. I know some people don't like trying new things especially when there is something similar that has had a long life in the market, but give it a try. I'm sure you'll love it. -
