Metal work look out! I love a good tool, especially a good MasterCraft tool, so does my husband and when we received the MasterCraft Drop Forged Snip Cutter with the left Offset for free from Butterly and Canadian Tire we were thrilled because we had the perfect project for it and our existing metal cutters have seen much better days and we’re due for replacement.
This cutter is designed for precise work that would satisfy even your professional trades person. We used them for the new dryer vent we needed to install in our new home, creating the ducting and assembly ourselves required cutting a steel conduit to size. They cut cleanly and with ease, and evenly around the entire duct making fitting the pieces together a breeze!
The handle is ergonomic and provides great grip, and the latch closure is essential to preventing accidental cuts when carrying in a tool bag. Quite an improvement from our older pair. We did find that the handles do open quite wide which can stretch your grip a bit, especially for someone like me with little hands, but otherwise this cutter is excellent.
Overall we were very happy with the precision and performance of this tool and so grateful for the timing of receiving it. This is an essential tool for any homeowner or professional to have on hand, it is up for the task!

My little secret is out 😉 Butterly, L’Occitane En Provence, and Sephora Canada sent along the L’Occitane Shea Nail and Cuticle Oil for free and it’s pretty darn clear that I am obsessed with it!!
This nail and cuticle oil is made with 30% shea oil, apricot, and almond oil to give you the best nails and cuticles and it does not disappoint. The brush applicator makes it so easy and clean to use. I love that I can put some on before bed and I wake up with everything hydrated and beautiful!
I have really put it to the test lately as we’ve been doing a lot of reno work on our new home so my hands have been getting abused but you can’t tell with my little secret weapon. It goes on smoothly, rubs in seamlessly, nourishes my cuticles and nails, and just keeps my fingers looking their best, which is super important to me because I love having long and healthy nails.
And while I did receive the oil with its beautiful new packaging for free, I have actually purchased this nail and cuticle oil before and love it. It smells gorgeous, it applies beautifully, I can throw it in my purse when going to work (my hands get crazy dried out at the office, the hand soap hates me), and it feels so luxurious.
I highly recommend keeping one (or two 😉) on hand!

I am a huge fan of Canadian Tire and their MasterCraft line!
I have a lot of MasterCraft items around my house so when Butterly and Canadian Tire sent me the MasterCraft Cutting set for free to try I was thrilled!
This set comes with a multifunctional scissor, a fine use scissor, a utility knife, a hobby knife, and a scraper.
First of all, this set is going to be used so throughly in my house! These multifunction scissors have already been used as scissors of course, but I am also a huge fan of their prongs on the top, they are perfect for opening tabs on any can easily. I buy coconut milk by the case (as I need to be dairy free and this is my milk substitute) so having the utility knife on hand makes it easy to pop a box open in seconds! The hobby knife and fine scissors make crafting a breeze, and the scraper is my favourite tool for lifting burnt on overflow from my stovetop, no liquids and scrubbing required!
Honestly this set should be in everyone’s home, stop using your kitchen knives to cut things (pool noddle DIY’ers I’m talking to you), grab this set and you will have everything you need!
The scraper and hobby knife come with important protective covers as well to prevent accidents when grabbing them out of a drawer. All of the pieces have great grips to prevent them slipping during use, which is of course important when dealing with blades.
The only downside to this set is the packaging, it is slim and minimal however the funny thing is that you need scissors or a utility knife to get into it, a little ironic.
I am so grateful for this set, and am especially thankful for the timing of receiving it, we will be moving soon so this set is going to get its workout!!
Highly recommend having this set, wouldn’t be without it!!

I hate insect bites!! And of course they absolutely love me and my pups, so I am always on the look out for options to keep all of us from getting bit, especially by ticks.
I was thrilled to receive new options from Butterly and Atlantick Repellent Products to try for free.
Atlantick Repellent is a 100% natural repellent that has been approved to be safe for families, pups and horses. Another great item Atlantick makes and sent me is a Lava Hair Band/Dog Collar, the lava beads absorb the spray which allow it to be continually released while the wearer goes about their fun. I love using this for my pups to keep them safe from ticks and mosquitoes.
I have been using the spray and the collar for the pups for a bit now, walks with the pups, gardening, and enjoying time outside in general.
I have to say that the smell is strong but pleasant. For the pups I have not noticed any ticks or bugs floating around the pups. It’s difficult to speak to the effectiveness against ticks with the pups overall but I have noticed fewer insects flying around their faces especially.
I am going to keep using the repellent for all of us in different situations to see how it continues to perform. What I will say is that insect repellent is something that works differently for everyone, interacts differently for each person based on their own physiology. So I recommend that if you are looking for an alternative repellent option than give Atlantick a try and see how it works for you and your pups :)

I have been using the spray for a bit now, at soccer games, walks with the pups, gardening, and enjoying time outside in general.
I have to say that the smell is strong but pleasant, it doesn’t cause any irritation to the skin or staining to clothes. While I have noticed a difference, I have still been getting bit by quite a few mosquitoes, one gardening session resulted in about a dozen bits unfortunately.
I am going to keep using the repellent in different situations to see how it continues to perform. I am probably the only person out there that has yet to try a Contigo tumbler. I’ve always been interested but concerned about the ability to keep the lid clean given its sealing system to prevent leaks.
I was thrilled when Butterly and Contigo sent me their West Loop model for free to try! The timing was also perfect as I have been in the market for a new tumbler.
This newest West Loop model boasts a 100% leakproof and spill proof lid, this is accomplished not only by the press button feature Contigo is known for but the addition of a locking mechanism that prevents the button from being pushed and releasing your drink if in the locked position. It also has long temperature life with up to 11 hrs hot and 24 hrs cold. The lid is top rack dishwasher safe making it even easier to clean.
So I’ve been using the West Loop for about a week and I have to say I’m impressed overall. It holds true to the temperature control, with me preparing a coffee at 6 am and not drinking it until 11 am or later and still having a nice hot coffee to enjoy. Same goes for a cold drink, zero disappointment. It is easy to use, and easy to lock and unlock with one hand.
I was always fearful of the lid being difficult to clean but it’s not too bad. I will say that it is easier to clean in the dishwasher than by hand but I am still reserving full judgment until I’ve used it for a while, I am still not 100% convinced that due to the more complex lid design that it won’t build up drink residue in places causing an eventual negative impact on the drinks. For now though it is working great and cleaning up perfectly.
I received the white colour which actually has a beautiful iridescence to it which can be seen as the light hits it, making it really beautiful.
It is a great option for all day use, work or play, Contigo has you covered.

Sunscreen is an absolute must in my skincare regimen, a must!
I wear sunscreen everyday, a 50 SPF, everyday. Then if I am going to be outside for any length of time, sunscreen goes on everywhere, followed by a hat, and sunglasses.
I am always on the hunt for great sunscreen, wears well, easy to apply, doesn’t leave me feeling gross like there is something there. Needless to say, I was thrilled to have Butterly and Blue Lizard send along this 50 SPF sensitive mineral sunscreen to try for free.
Originating in Australia, Blue Lizard has been around for nearly 30 years. They formulate their sunscreen for sensitive skin, with no parabens, phthalates, fragrance, or chemical active ingredients. And on top of that it is also reef safe, which is extremely important for the environment!
This spray version is extremely easy to use with an excellent feature that allows you to open and close off the spray nozzle. I love this feature as it helps to protect the product from going off in a bag and making a mess, and on top of that you can operate it with one hand, making it very easy to use. The spray is strong and distributes well along the target area. It then rubs and soaks in with ease to ensure all skin is covered.
I was pleased with the feel of the sunscreen on my skin, no residue, no stickiness, nothing. Which is perfect to allow me to carry on with my day without picking up random fluffs or dirt (when doing yard work) that stick to the sunscreen. The sun protection was perfect as well, it did its job and kept me from getting burnt! The only downside that I found was that it did leave a bit of a scent on the skin, a bit sharp in nature, not overbearing but enough that it was unfortunate. This could just be a body chemistry reaction type of thing and may not be the same for everyone.
Overall, I am a fan of a good sunscreen and this one is pretty great.

I was ecstatic to receive the L’Occitane Shimmering Almond Oil free from Butterly!
This body oil is ultra hydrating, lightweight, lightly scented of sweet almond, and in addition to the regular Almond Body Oil this version contains a subtle shimmer that leaves skin glowing.
I wasn’t sure what to expect overall but the oil quickly and easily absorbs into the skin, both after a hot shower and on dry skin, leaving the skin feeling beautifully smooth, moisturized, and glowing from the shimmer. The way the sun picks up on this shimmer is stunning!
The oil does not leave any residue or staining on clothing, making it perfect to wear anytime with anything!
I will be using this oil all summer long to keep my skin hydrated and glowing!!

There are so many variations of tongs out in the wild - big ones, small ones, tiny ones, scalloped edges, serrated edges, smooth edges, plastic, metal, mixed materials. Let’s face it they aren’t all created equal.
I was sent the Vida by Paderno Stainless Steel locking tongs by Butterly and Canadian Tire for free to try out recently and I have to say they are great.
These tongs are made from stainless steel and feature an end locking mechanism that is very easy to engage and disengage, as well as they have a smooth edge design.
Ok so they are tongs, not much to comment on.
Well I disagree.
The shape of the handles fits nicely in the hand and the tension of the tongs is just right. I have small hands and some muscular-skeletal issues, so grip at times can be a bit more challenging for me and these were very easy to use. The smooth edges on these tongs held items really well without puncturing them or cutting them. They are also dishwasher safe so a breeze to clean. If washing by hand the design is also excellent for easy cleaning and drying by hand, no areas left unreachable.
I have several Paderno items in my home and to date I have not been disappointed. Highly recommend you give them a try!

I have many methods of making coffee at home, including a Nespresso machine that uses the original capsules. The Nespresso is perfect for grabbing a delicious cup of coffee when you have little time and for easily trying different blends without grabbing a big bag of beans.
Not only can you grab the original coffee capsules directly from Nespresso but you can also grab them from a variety of suppliers at the local grocery store.
Given that I love coffee, I was very excited to receive the McCafe Dark Roast Espresso capsules from Butterly and McCafe for free to try!
Now I’m a big fan of a dark roast and bold coffees, so I this espresso being rated as an 8 out of 10 for darkness was exciting. However, I was still skeptical as to whether it would really be a dark roast or not because I have been let down in the past by such claims.
I tried the espresso in a few different ways, straight espresso shot, as an Americano, and as a latte. I have to say that while this coffee is fairly rounded and balanced, it isn’t a dark roast in my opinion. It lacks depth and that dark roast punch. If I compare a dark roast espresso, specially an 8, from a Nespresso, they would not be equals.
As I said it is fairly balanced and smooth, particularly in a latte, but it lacks overall depth and intensity.
These capsules also come in a compostable format. The downside of that is that it is a commercially compostable format. So this means you have to go to a specific website, sign up for an account, and print a label to attach to a return bag of capsules, you also have to find a UPS location to drop it at. While I am happy that there is a means to look after the capsules, it is unfortunately not the easiest process overall. Not everybody even has a printer anymore, so I worry most of these will just end up in the garbage and not sent back.
Overall, the espresso is ok but not my first option. If you do like a fairly balanced coffee but not so much a dark roast I would recommend trying the McCafe Dark Roast espresso and seeing what you think.
