I've been applying this cream at night, and each morning my face wakes up hydrated and softer. I have combination skin (dry, but with an oily T-zone) and I often find that when I wake up in the morning my face feels dry and oily, but this one seems to be regulating. I sleep on my side and get those wrinkles under my eye from where my cheek has been smooshed upwards, but have been noticing them less, and I am guessing it's because my skin isn't drying out overnight.
The smell is really amazing, it's a light floral with cucumber, and feels really fresh. I got the product at the press launch and we tried out the whole line, and it was all really light and fresh smelling.
The press materials say that it has a tri-radiance complex that helps to develop the skin's reserves of water and reinforce skin's moisture barrier. It also contains natural plant-based squalene and mango butter emollients, that are known to provide moisture.
Bonus: the apothecary packaging is oh-so-cute.
In Canada it's available at Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques, Murale and select Holt Renfrew locations.

The Body Shop's body butters are great deep moisturizers. I always notice a dramatic difference in my skin whenever I use one. However, they are pretty heavy and take a long time to absorb, so I often won't use them if I know I am going to be putting on tight jeans or tighter clothes as they'll make the fabric stick to me. It's not that it's greasy, just so heavy it takes a while to fully absorb.
I am really liking the Body Butter Duo they've come out with that has their regular body butter for normal skin, and a richer formula for dry skin, all in one container. The formula for dry skin doesn't feel extra heavy, and it absorbs about the same as the regular formula. My only critique is that I personally put the normal on more of my body, and the dry on less places, so I ran out of the normal formula pretty fast.
It also comes in three other scents if you're not crazy about Vanilla.

I swear by Deborah Lippmann. I have never had a pedicure, even one I've done myself, chip when I've used her lacquer (and a top coat, of course). It's a little on the pricier side compared to salon and drugstore brands but you'll save money in the end because it's so durable. (Really, don't question my logic!).
The colours are classics. It's Raining Men is the only red you'll ever need. She is the manicurist to Cher and Mariah Carey, and also has done some really high profile work with Lady Gaga (like the Vanity Fair cover and her more recent V cover) and she regularly creates nail colours in honour of her clients. If you like glitter, you will die over her's, there's nothing like them.
I have Marquee Moon which was made for a Rodarte runway show (she does fashion week as well) and it has mini sequins in it. Whenever I wear it I get so many questions because no one has ever seen anything like it. You won't find this brand at many manicure salons, so I recommend buying yourself and bringing it with you, whenever I do the manicurists comment on what great quality it is.

I have this lipcolor in 798 Violet. The staying power on it is pretty good, I ate with it on and danced and talked and put my lips on plenty of wine glasses and it stuck through pretty well. I'd say I did two touch ups of the colour in a very busy eight hours, but put the balm on quite a bit to refresh it. The colour and coverage is great, it has a strong pigment to it so the colour in the tube covers your lips, not sheer at all. You must be very precise when you put it on because there's no smooshing it around by pressing lips together like you would with lipstick. It get's tacky right away, but once you get used to this dry feeling and it's set, you put on the balm and it doesn't feel so odd. Before you put the balm on though, make sure the colour is 100 per cent as you'd like it as it's hard to touch that up once the balm is on. -

This is one of those desert island products for me. It works wonders on areas that need deep moisturizing (calluses on your feet), and makes skin oh so soft. The smell is amazing as well. Not fruity and floral but sort of like something in the citrus family, I always joke I want to put it on my salad. In the winter, my chin got really dry and flaky. I lightly exfoliated and applied Skin Food every day and it was back to normal in a few days. I have a tendency to break out on my chin, it's my trouble area, but I didn't experience any break outs while using, or after, it feels really light and not greasy and you can tell it penetrates deep rather than just the surface layer which is what skin needs. I highly recommend this one, you'll find so many uses for it, and the price is very reasonable since you don't need a lot on trouble spots. -

I went in to Bridesmaids expecting to love it. As a huge fan of Kristen Wiig (who stars and co-wrote) and the many funny, talented women in the movie, as well as director Paul Fieg (Freaks and Geeks) and producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, Funny People), I thought: How can this possibly disappoint?
Disappoint it did not. From the opening scene—a no-holds-barred romp between the sheets with Wiig and Jon Hamm—the movie did not let up. All those chick-flick clichés, not a one was used as a fall back. You’ll hear comparisons to other R-rated comedies that aren’t afraid to go there like The Hangover, and this film definitely brings a similar level of “what could they do to top that last scene,” but mixed with the heart and sensitivity that those bromances don’t blend touch. Strip away the craziness (much of it provided by the very hilar Melissa McCarthy), and what you have is a film that’s about how important it is to have the support of female friends, whether you’re leaning on them during your wedding or during a crisis, or just laughing over Sunday brunch.

I love Nars Matte Lip Pencils! My favourite colour so far is Pop Life (bright, poppy-hued red). The formula is really rich, albeit a bit drying, and super matte. Before applying I try to exfoliate my lips a bit with a soft toothbrush so it doesn't end up looking messy. If you are at all a novice when it comes to applying lipstick, a lip pencil allows for more exact application and doesn't slip around. In other words, if you often apply lipstick and find that your lip line looks uneven, but the thought of lining your lips first makes you kind of shudder, this is the right product for you. It lasts fairly long as well, though won't last through a meal without giving you that clownish ring where it's rubbed off on the inside of your lip but not the outer rim.
Bottom line: If you're looking for a matte lip colour this one is excellent. The coverage is opaque as well so your lips will look like the colour of the pencil.

I received this shadow at Toronto Fashion Week where the L'Oreal team was using it on models. I've mostly used 014 Eternal Black and it is a great smudgey sparkly midnight black, perfect if you like an imperfect smokey eye. I put mine in my purse and if I end up going somewhere after work I can apply it pretty easily with my finger (no need to carry a brush).
02 Hourglass Beige is perfect for highlighting the corner of your eyes and making them pop! I dab it on with my finger as well, as I've found that if you have any sort of colour on your brush the moist nature of this shadow will suck it up and deposit it along with.
As far as longevity, my lids don't hold shadow that long, but I find even if it slips a bit, the colour is still really nice and doesn't look messy or run.

I picked up this lipstick in 800 Pink Star - which looks like a bright light pink. While it is moisturizing (no dry lips and no stickiness either, great consistency for girls who don't like the tackiness of lipgloss but want to be able to rub their lips together without feeling like they're destroying their colour), the pigment barely shows. Rather than looking like the bullet, it was just a light sheer coat with a slight shimmer. -

This shade is from OPI's Pirates of the Caribbean collection (there's six nail lacquer shades and one shatter in a silver). It's a minty green without being to chalky, almost looks like it has a touch of gray rather than white. My hands are pretty pale and also tend to be red around the cuticle and it doesn't make them look more red or discoloured. A great shade for spring! -
