These pads are soaked with salicylic acid, so much so that you can squeeze some product out. I found that these were a little too moist and I didn't end up using everything when I was done with the pad and ready to throw it out. It's good for a deep clean and helps to have more contact time with the salicylic acid, which you don't get if you're using a SA cleanser. I think these would be good for on-the-go use too. I don't like the scent but it fades and I don't notice it throughout the day. Possibly because these are so saturated, it feels a little tacky on the skin, which is why I knocked off another star. -

I don't personally tend to choose cleansers with physical exfoliation, but I did enjoy using this one. This is a black cleanser with small exfoliating beads (like volcanic ash!). It has great acne-fighting ingredients, such as salicylic acid and bentonite clay to clean and wash away excess oil. It applies like a cream cleanser, but it's black- keeping up with the volcanic ash name. Again, I prefer not to use facial scrubs but I can see this working well for people who need extra help with acne and sebum. -

The colour is pigmented and bold and flows smoothly from both ends. The highlighter ends are standard colours, so it's nothing extraordinary there. I love the pen colours. The tip is like a felt tip marker pen and the colours are gorgeous. I find that different coloured pens are sometimes too bright but I found these ones to be very useable as they show up well without being too in-your-face. I don't remember the size of the nib (possibly 0.5?) but I like that it is not too thick, so you can write in small or big fonts. -

I think it helped to prevent new acne and sped up the process of healing existing acne that was forming. It has a somewhat unpleasant scent but I think that's just the smell of propolis. It doesn't bother once it's on and I don't notice the smell for very long. -

It's buildable so you can add more intense colour if you want. All the shades in this line are quite pigmented if you have light or medium tone. If your lips are darker, the tint will be more natural-looking. There are only a few neutral colours, and the rest are quite vibrant. The scent for these is like poprocks or a candied watermelon smell. These aren't longlasting, so there will be transfer when you eat or drink, and you'll need to reapply for the colour. -

For me, it felt far too heavy and occlusive for my skin which tends to get congested easily. Yes, it provides good moisture but I didn't notice any benefits beyond just the hours after I applied it. What I mostly didn't love about it was that it continued to feel heavy throughout the day, to the point that it was uncomfortable because my skin would get greasy with it on. -

I don't know how to properly describe notes but I can share that this has a pleasant scent that I don't get sick of. I'm not sure if this is the correct way to describe it, but I find there are aquatic and fruity aspects to the floral, which make a nice but basic combination. It doesn't last very long on the skin, but I don't mind giving it a refresh so I can inhale the scent again. At the cost, I probably wouldn't be keeping this as a staple scent in my collection but there's no denying that the bottle looks so cute on a vanity. -

I've seen so many rave reviews about these mascaras and how the quality surpasses the price point. Unfortunately, I suspect it might only work well with other types of lashes (mine are short and not very voluminous on their own). Maybe with naturally long and curled lashes, this might work well. Anyway, for me, it mostly just darkens the lashes and lengthens a little bit but my main issue with it is that it smudges like crazy. None of my other mascaras (from other drugstore brands) ever smudge on me but this one from Essence ALWAYS leaves black smudges under my eye about 2-3 hours after application. I won't be repurchasing any lash princess mascaras. -
