ModWomen & Candace Bushnell

I had the pleasure of attending the Lipstick Jungle Cocktail Luncheon by ModWomen yesterday at the Design Exchange. Candace Bushnell was the key note speaker and it was hosted by Cheryl Hickey. For $100 a ticket, women came decked out in their cutest dresses bags and shoes and were treated to a girly event like no other.

The beautiful Cheryl Hickey was the best dressed of the bunch!

Candace Bushnell makes the rounds in the media lounge

Guests sipped the Lipstick Jungle Cocktail (pomegranate juice and martini prosecco) while getting their hair and makeup done at the booths on the lower level. They then made their way to the second floor for beet risotto, snacks, and the speeches.

Authors Arline Malakian and Kim MacGregor, discussed their book, "Be a Woman" and shared some really inspirational insights with the audience.

Then Candace Bushnell hit the stage. Not quite the sweet voiced Carrie you would expect, Bushnell is loud, gruff and a little outrageous. She had plenty to say about shoes, her real life "Mr. Big" (she married "Mr. Bigger" instead), and why she thinks women need to work hard and buy our own shoes.

Goodie bags featured treats from Makeup Forever, Swarovski, Zink Magazine, La Senza and several others. One thing's for certain: ModWomen founder, Loulou Vibert really knows how to throw a party!
