Choosing the right salon isn't easy. There are many factors to consider including price, location, expertise and comfort with your stylist.

We love Eric Del Monaco of the newly opened Del Monaco Hair Studio at 388 Richmond St. W, in Toronto. Del Monaco is known for his role on Project Runway Canada and Fashion Week, and has now launched his own salon where we can be pampered like the models.

At the Del Monaco Hair Studio you can get:

Haircut for $75 - $100
Wash & Blow-dry for $45 - $55
Up-Dos starting from $75
Wave Perm starting from $90
Global 1 Colour starting from $75
Partial to full head highlights $85 - $100
Creative colour for $85 - $150

Bonus: Though many salons offer a hydrating treatment at an additional price, Del Monaco Studio offers a complimentary Kerastase hydrating treatment with any colour, highlight, or perm.

When hair is colour-treated or permed, it strips a lot of the natural moisture from the hair. This treatment restores hydration from the moisture that was taken from the hair, and lasts until you are ready for your next colouring. The treatment usually costs an additional $25 at most other salons.

Del Monaco's staff stylists are all Fashion Week stylists as well. They are on top of the latest trends not only because they are dictating them for Toronto and Montreal fashion weeks, but they spend a lot of time researching the trends online. A staff favourite website is lastnightsparty.com, where fashionistas post pictures of themselves at parties and events in cities around the world.

While putting together Fashion Week hairstyles, the stylists get inspired for new salon styles. Turning a runway look into a salon look is simply taking an exaggerated look and making it more commercial.

“And we get inspired by our customers. We like it when they have that spark and want to do something different with their hair,” said Del Monaco.
