I've been to Lavish a couple of times for pedicures or gel mani's and even for a couple of massages. I hadn't had my hair cut there though, until tonight. My regular stylist could no longer fit me into her busy schedule so I booked at Lavish because they were a lot closer to home (600 m vs. 20 kms). The haircut I received from one of their master stylists was as good as my previous stylist. The few extra dollars it cost to go to Lavish was made up by not having to drive as far. This will be a great point in the winter! Lying down to get your hair washed will take some getting used to though lol
Good customer service, smiling faces at the reception desk - free scalp massages and make up touch ups.
I'll go again.

I really liked this movie. When I first saw it in the theatre with my daughter and the needle came at us in 3D, she shouted "they're trying to kill me!!!". Great stop motion animation. Repeatability. The old adage of being careful of what you wish for is true in this movie. Coraline is very bored in her real life and goes exploring through a doorway after being tempted by a doll which looks very much like her. Through the doorway, Coraline discovers an alternate reality where her 'mother' is perfect and always knows exactly what Coraline wants just as she wants it. It turns out that Coraline's 'other Mother' is really a Beldam (witch) who had previously stolen children in a quest to be loved. Might be scary for the younger viewers. Lots of dark imagery. -

We could only watch this in 3D once as the 3D feature really started to bother our eyes and our head. I'm not sure if is because it is an IMAX movie, but other 3D movies viewed at home on the same equipment haven't caused the same problem. Still just as good in 2D. A good movie for kids which shows them what life in the oceans is really like.

This sequel isn't as good as the original. Our reluctant hero, Gru is now a single adoptive father of three precocious girls. Various hijinks ensue and Gru once again saves the day. The minions, who stole the show in the first movie are back again, though not as funny. Kristin Wiig who played Miss Hatty in the original movie, is back as Gru's love interest and plays her very two-dimensionally. 3 stars, but the kids give it a 5 star rating. -

I love this movie. It was well cast and the storyline is great. Adam Sandler doesn't disappoint as Count Dracula "I don't say blah, blah, blah". Dracula's friends the Werewolf, the Mummy, and Frankenstein's monster, want nothing more than to get away from people and simply rest. But when a human arrives at the hotel everything changes. Good family fun. -

I love 'kid' movies that also appeal to the adults - after all, we take them to the theatre to see the films and are in the house when they watch the home version. This is a great animated film which teaches kids to overcome their fears of 'the Boogey Man'.
With a cast of characters, including Jack Frost, The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy, The Sandman, and Santa Claus who team up to stop the Pitch (the Boogey Man) from stealing the dreams of children, and using his dark powers to rule the universe.
Beautiful CGI, though this movie might be a bit scary for the really little ones - but like the movie shows us, if you stop believing, the bad thing simply disappears.... fun for the whole family.

Simply stunning. If you haven't read the book, or haven't read it in a while, this film will not disappoint. Filmed in New Zealand and seamlessly integrating CGI and live action - The first movie is many things, funny, frightening, suspenseful and just plain clever. J.R.R. Tolkien knew what he was doing.
