Have always wondered about the effectiveness of these, but had no idea where to get them so I was pumped to get to try it free from Butterly and Hero. I've used zit dots before with varying results but these already get extra points for being clear to go with any skin tone. There's also no concern of waking up with dyes or residue on the pillow is a huge win. I thankfully only get the occasional stress pimple these days so I wouldn't say I got to test these to their full potential yet but on the couple little spots I did have, they were noticeably smaller after using these for a night. These dots will be the first thing I reach for the next time the stress skin comes on!

When I got hit with my last bout of toddler cold, I was pretty jazzed to find these in my mailbox. I don't tend to believe that "natural" type remedies will actually help with the symptoms of an illness but I was down to try something that contains vitamins that would at the very least help the illness clear sooner. The texture on these were a bit grainy for my liking (most supplements are though) but I actually did like taking them and wish I'd gotten more so I could have continued using them throughout my cold! It's hard to accurately review a product that only claims to do something but can't be proven, but I definitely didn't mind the immunity boost that came just when I needed it!

I was so excited to try another Garnier product through Chick Advisor and Butterly now that they've finally gone cruelty free. I was a big fan of their low-waste shampoo bar, and all the Garnier product smell amazing, so I had high hopes. I used this every time I washed my hair consistently for 2 weeks because I figured it would take a few treatments, but I really don't notice any change at all, which is unfortunate because this product smells amazing. I like the feeling of my hair as it rinses out (although it feels like you're pouring an entire bottle of it on your head just to use "one dose") but then I don't notice any difference in the look or texture of my hair once it dries. I don't love the conditioner I was using prior so I was hoping this would make a difference but honestly, my hair feels exactly the same as with my basic conditioner. Unfortunately this isn't a product that I will be buying in the future. #Fructis #HairCareFinds #SleekHair #GlassHair -

I was so excited to try another Garnier product through Chick Advisor and Butterly now that they've finally gone cruelty free. I was a big fan of their low-waste shampoo bar, and all the Garnier product smell amazing, so I had high hopes but this spray just doesn't cut it for me. In comparison to other hair oils/sprays I've used, this one sits very heavy on my hair and makes it feel oily, despite trying to brush it through. I guess one upside is that I can wear it down (usually it's up) because the weight of this spray keeps it from getting too poofy, but I much prefer a weightless feeling hair product. I can't say I notice a huge increase in moisture either despite using the two tested Garnier products consistently for 2 weeks now. Unfortunately I won't be buying this again. #Fructis #HairCareFinds #SleekHair #GlassHair -

So I was pretty excited about this cleanser and so glad I #gotitfree to try through the Butterly/Chick Advisor Review Club! I am always looking for a new facial cleanser and since I have not been kind to my face skin over the years, I never know what will be too harsh or too mild. I will say this product did not irritate my skin at all. No redness, no overdrying adjustment period, and the fragrance smells clean without being overpowering. I would say it's similar to a Cetaphil type cleanser in its mildness with an added freshness. Plus it's not tested on animals, which is an absolute MUST for me and one of the main reasons that I won't buy Cetaphil because they do still test. The downside to this cleanser is that I didn't necessarily come away feeling totally clean. It suds nicely, but still leaves some kind of... layer? Hard to describe but I don't have super soft skin after like some other sudsy cleansers. Not like a film but almost an extra dryness? But not overdry to the point of irritation or peeling or anything. Just wasn't the best after-feeling. Would I buy it again? Maybe, but there are other cruelty free mild cleansers out there that I prefer for a similar pricepoint. Also, for how much it costs, it needs a better lid as you only need to use a little but every time I pour out too much from the big lid opening despite using this for 2 weeks now! -

A lucky week for me getting to try something through @chickadvisor and @thisisbutterly ! I have been a @toms_of_maine fan for a long time, and pretty much exclusively buy their toothpaste already because I've always appreciated their no animal testing policy and their fluoride-free options (although my husband won't use fluoride-free toothpaste, but I appreciate that Tom's has both!). I have never tried the whitening toothpaste from Tom's, so I'm glad I #gotitfree to try! Whitening toothpaste is not something I'd probably buy on my own, because an addiction to whitening strips a decade ago left my teeth whiter than a Pottery Barn but also stripped of enamel and super sensitive. I've been afraid to use whitening toothpaste ever since, but this one was super gentle and I didn't experience any added sensitivity from using it. Compared to other Tom's though, I have to dock one star because I don't LOVE the flavour. It's a little weak, like a watered-down peppermint that doesn't really leave a fresh mouth feeling. Other Tom's products have stronger flavour/scent, which I like (although a milder flavour might be a good thing for some!). However, if I was looking for a whitening toothpaste, I'd definitely use this one again over one of the typical brands, so you should also #tryToms ! -

I hardly ever give anything a 5 star review. It has to be seriously impressive to warrant that from me, and this bar meets all the criteria. So glad I got to try it through the Chick Advisor Review Club! The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the smell. This shampoo is FRAGRANT. If you are sensitive to smell, you probably won't like this product because even a week later, my whole bathroom still smells like this shampoo (I am not complaining, personally). It comes in cute, minimal packaging that is recyclable (very important to me) and the bar itself is completely cruelty-free, a change for Garnier that I commend them on as I previously would not buy from this brand because they still tested on animals or sold in countries that did (i.e. China). Well done, Garnier!
Using the bar is a luxurious experience as well. It lathers nicely (a must from me) and it rinses clean, leaving the nice scent but no residue. My hair seemed shinier and less frizzy after 2 uses.
I have struggled to find a shampoo bar that meets all my criteria of being environmentally friendly, effective, and reasonably priced. This one has definitely found its place as a contender!

I love this product. Interestingly enough, I already had it in my pantry but I was happy to receive a sample to review it! As much as I love the Italians, I will never buy the real Nutella again after trying the Kraft version specifically because it doesn't have palm oil. And it doesn't even try to fix it by having "sustainable" palm oil, it just isn't an ingredient in it, and it isn't missed! I made "Nutella" brownies recently for the first time with this Kraft product and truthfully, it was better than when I'd made it with the original! Very happy Kraft has risen to the occasion with this product and I plan to buy it again in the future. -

I have to say, the amount of gas I used driving around trying to find this product definitely contributed more negatively to the environment than any positive impact I could have had by choosing a plant-based product! I couldn't buy it again simply because I can't drive all the way to another city just to find it in one grocery store with limited supply. As for the actual taste - it wasn't bad. I used the unsalted (the only one I could find after a month of looking!) product on popcorn and in some muffins I made. The muffins came out a bit drier and more crumbly than usual - I've had this issue with most plant butters I've tried as I think the lack of fat causes issues holding the dough together. The popcorn topping was fine, I'll be using more of it for that. I also don't like that the main ingredient is palm oil. If you dig deep into the product's website, you can find one paragraph about how they're using sustainably sourced palm oil, but with the amount of greenwashing out there about "sustainably" using problematic ingredients, I'd rather avoid palm oil altogether. None of the sustainability marketing is on the packaging either, which I find suspect as you'd think they'd really want to highlight that.
I've tried many products that I #gotforfree from #ChickAdvisorReviewClub, but this has got to be one of the most disappointing overall, especially if it was for #EarthMonth

I was so excited to try a Schmidt's deodorant for free as part of the Chick Advisor Review Club, because I love all things natural and cruelty free and this brand is both! After previously trying the Lavender+Sage scent, which I enjoyed, I was curious how things would go with the Rose+Vanilla variety and I'm happy to report I loved the scent. It's quite strong, so I wouldn't recommend it for someone who is sensitive to smells, but for me I loved it and I loved smelling it on myself. I'm also really happy that it's aluminum free (keep in mind this is not an antiperspirant, just a deodorant). I think personally if I had to choose, I'd still go with the Lavender scent because it's a bit more reserved, but I actually looked forward to putting on this deodorant with the new scent because I do enjoy it. I will say however, just because of the price point of this brand, I don't know if I can purchase it again. Other natural brands have much more accessible pricing for a similar product with the same natural and cruelty-free elements, and I love what Schmidt's is doing, but not enough to pay $9 for something that still has plastic waste involved (I'd pay more for something with compostable/biodegradable packaging. My other critique/comment is that the texture is something to get used to. Because it has less preservatives, it's more solid so you have to hold it on your skin to warm it first before rolling, which takes some getting used to, and it has a more granular texture than standard deodorant sticks. I didn't mind this, but for someone trying a natural product for the first time, it might be a hurdle. Note that it does go on clear, but I wouldn't say I'd necessarily trust it with my nicest black dress. Thank you to Chick Advisor and Schmidt's for letting me try it out! -
