What a lovely moisturizer! I've been trying to find a moisturizer/SPF hybrid that doesn't cause zits and blackheads, an endeavour that is surprisingly difficult. Most moisturizers and sunscreens leave my face feeling greasy, and then I inevitably get the massive break-out a week later. Not so with MAC Studio Moisture Fix SPF 15. It is super lightweight, and leaves my skin feeling silky instead of greasy. And bonus, it's SPF 15, so it'll protect my skin too!
Downsides: It's expensive (but not as expensive as some other lines), and it has a lot of fragrance (which I actually like - kind of citrus-y - but not so good for those with fragrance sensitivities).

I bought this foundation because I wanted a lightweight liquid foundation with SPF and heard that this one was good for oily, acne-prone skin. So far, so good. It is a bit runny coming out of the tube, but has a lovely, silky texture upon application. It's very lightweight, and provides sheer coverage. As such, it looks quite natural, but still evens out my skin tone nicely and makes my skin look and feel dewy. The best part about it, though, is that it keeps oil in check, moisturizes the dry parts of my skin (which is great for the coming Canadian winter) and has an effective SPF. I would buy it again, for sure. -

Love this foundation. Other foundations have come and gone, but M.A.C. Studio Fix has been a permanent fixture in my makeup bag for years. It keeps oil in check, camouflages imperfections, evens out skin tone, and still looks natural. Compared to other medium-to-full coverage foundations I have tried, this one doesn't dull my complexion at all, simply makes it look better!
It's a powder, and comes with its own sponge, but I apply it with a full M.A.C. face brush and find that the brush application produces nicer results than the sponge. It goes on a little lighter. With the sponge, it can look a bit heavy and highlight dry areas.
The price tag is a bit steep, but it lasts for a looonnnggg time and the quality makes it worth it.

During the summer, I became obsessed with self-tanners, and tried a lot (and have the bottles to prove it :-P). I have very fair skin, and like a darker tan, but I have a terrible time with full-on instant self-tanners. As such, I always go for the gradual-moisturizer-type ones, and Coppertone's Gradual Tan worked like a dream. Definitely one of the best ones I tried. The formula is fairly simple (no bells and whistles), and it smells like self-tanner (which is to say, bad), but it looks really natural, doesn't streak and gives me a darker tan than most of the other brands. Plus it's cheap and lasts a long time. Recommended. -

I bought it because it was supposed to be an effective BHA product (good for clearing blackheads) but I haven't noticed any benefit. That said, it hasn't done anything bad to my skin either. It's a lightweight formula that smells kind of chemically. It's not particularly moisturizing. It just sort of... sits there. I won't be buying it again.

Surprisingly, this is the best body butter I have ever tried. It's also the cheapest. The unscented cream is deeply moisturizing and has a beautiful and luxurious texture. This is perfect for winter skin. I love it.

It is definitely a meat-oriented place, but there are some really great vegetarian options. There is always one veg meal on the menu, and there is a vegetarian charcuterie as well. I recommend the charcuterie over the meal, which most often includes beans. They are delicious beans, but are kind of heavy. Meanwhile, the charcuterie includes some veg pates, amazing cheeses, olives, pickles and really, really wonderful bread and baguette chips. It's something you can really savour.
The drinks are great (the best mojito in the city, as far as I'm concerned), and the wine list is superb.
The desserts are incredible. There's this chocolate pudding creation with a rock salt topping and a fruit compote at the side that is to die for, and many other options.
But the absolute best part about it all is the patio.... go in the summer on a warm evening and sit outside. It is so beautiful, and the service is wonderfully attentive.
Expect to spend a lot. Go on a special occasion or when you feel extravagant. Totally worth it.
