Dark chocolate, pure and simple. 70% is my favourite, not overly rich. This is a lovely, creamy bar, perfect for nibbling. Goes beautifully with a hot cup of mint tea!

I really liked this chocolate bar. The rich, dark chocolate pairs beautifully with the crunchy, sweet caramel bits, and it was a real treat to eat! Unlike the cherry and cocoa bars, I didn't find the amount of caramel overwhelming in this bar. Beware though, unlike most dark chocolate, this bar is very easy to munch down the entire thing! -

I liked the idea of this chocolate and cocoa combination, but the execution didn't quite pan out. The crunchy, bitterness of the cocoa nibs was delightful, but I found the sheer quantity of the nibs to be overwhelming. I liked the taste and the idea, but it was too rich, too much. There are other bars on the market with this same combination but in much more satisfying ratios. -
Of the 4 new Nestle Noir bars, this one was my least favourite. The idea of chocolate and cherry is a good one in theory, but frankly if I have a craving for chocolate covered cherries I'm going to go out and get chocolate covered cherries! The bar... +

I went to Flirty Girl Fitness to check out their pole dancing class (they offer a free first time class to ChickAdvisor members! Otherwise it's $20 I believe.) Now, I really hate exercising, but this was fun! It was more dance than workout, but still left a few muscles feeling the burn! The studio was gorgeous and the instructor definitely knew her stuff. My friends were nervous about the class, but there was nothing to worry about. There were women of all shapes and sizes there, and everyone was so busy concentrating on their own moves that nobody was looking around to see how unsexy/silly some of my moves were!! (Doing a sexy pole dance is a lot harder than it may seem!)
The class seemed to move along very quickly and also didn't seem long enough. I'm not sure if this is because it was an introductory class or if they are all the same length (about an hour, which just zips by.) The class was fun and we did a lot of things, but I kept wishing we could just go over what we had already learned a few more times instead of moving on to the next thing. Again, I'm not sure if it was because of the introductory class that they were trying to cram in as much as possible. But at least it wasn't slow or boring!!
My biggest -and really only- criticism is that I think there should have been a longer warmup. It probably would have prevented some of my soreness the next day, plus I would have felt I got a better workout if we'd gotten our hearts pumping at least at the beginning. [Despite my own feelings of not working out hard enough, the women coming out of all the classes were sweaty and flushed and definitely looked like they'd been working it! Perhaps she was taking it easy on the beginners...)
All in all it was a good experience and I would recommend it.

I know there are all sorts of fancy salon shampoos, and I know drugstore shampoos have crazy chemicals in them... but I LOVE PANTENE! I can't help it! I don't know what it is, but Pantene always makes my hair incredibly soft, smooth and manageable... +

I recently discovered the Wild Sage skin care line, and I LOVE IT! I was horrified to learn of all the toxic chemicals in the daily products we use -and as women we often use up to 100 products a day! This line is all natural, mostly organic and amazing. My favourite is the Rose Hazel toner -it's a breath of fresh air for my face! Everything is great, it all smells amazing and I love putting it on my skin! The only drawback is that the only place you can get this stuff in Canada is at Elixir Spa in Toronto. Or you can email the distributor directly from the website and request a special shipment, which she will occasionally do. -

I've been wearing fragrances from The Body Shop for almost 15 years. I don't like most perfumes because they are too "perfumey." I find perfume choking and the alcohol gives me a headache. But with The Body Shop perfume oils, there's no alcohol, no headache, no fake, flowery, gross scents. I like the little bottles and being able to dab the oil and rub it in wherever I want it.
Last year they came out with a new line of spray on fragrances. Even though they are not oils, I found them light and perfect, no headache there either! They have a whole bunch of awesome scents, and they are designed and encouraged to be worn layered to create your own scent. I'd looked for "my" perfume for years until I discovered a two spray combination with these new Body Shop perfume sprays.
Love it!

The main reason I like Gypsy Co-Op is for the awesome ambiance. There are couches and armchairs circled around the fireplace, in addition to the dinner tables and small stage. They often have local artists paintings on the walls, and they have quite a few nights featuring smooth djs. Their prices are a bit on the steep side, so we usually just have some tea while we chill out on the couches. The staff are generally neither overly friendly nor rude, they do their job and when you want to be left alone they leave you alone. The place is funky, not overly eclectic, and somehow classy in it's own way. I'm sure I'll be back there, and I wouldn't hesitate to take my friends. 817 Queen Street West Toronto -

Every year on my boyfriend's birthday this is where he wants to go for supper. It's a great little restaurant, cool without being too cool, trendy without being too trendy, nice without being too nice. The ambiance is fantastic: exposed brick, fairy lights, candles, and they're always playing great music. The menu isn't extensive, but the food is tasty -the steak is divine! Prices are slightly on the high end of the spectrum (for me anyway), but not outrageous -for a special night the price is just right! The service is consistently good, the location is great (Bloor Street at Bathurst in the heart of the Annex)... I would recommend checking it out! -
