Java House is a great little coffee shop and restaurant. There's always somewhere to sit, the menu is varied and extremely inexpensive, and the atmosphere is both funky and chilled. They have a great patio where you can watch the foot traffic on Queen. They have great drink and entree deals, and I believe they do student discounts on their already super cheap fare. The food is tasty, the veggie sandwich, the brie sandwich, the noodles, and the fresh smoothies are fantastic! If you're a tea fan, they have a whole wall of tea selections! The place is not upscale by any stretch of the imagination, but it's certainly got character! I doubt if you'll find any business men, unless they've got a lot of tattoos! It's definitely suited to Queen West -I love it!! 537 Queen Street West, at Augusta -

I recently discovered Elixir spa and I am enthralled with it! First of all, I am trying to get rid of as many toxins and chemicals in my daily routine as possible, and this spa is COMPLETELY NATURAL AND ORGANIC! Amazing! They offer a wide range of services, the spa has great ambiance, and the staff are friendly. One of my favourite features of Elixir, is their mailing list. If you sign up, about once a month they send out an email detailing a special promotion that is often offered exclusively to clients on the list! And the deals are good: special bundles, 50% off...! Lynn, the owner, is very approachable -drop in or send her an email saying you're interested in trying out the spa and see what she has to offer.
In Toronto, King Street West at Tecumseth.

My boyfriend and I LOVE Ho Su! It's a fantastic little asian restaurant on Queen Street West in Toronto (at John). On days when we're REALLY hungry we stop there for take out (we have their # programmed in my phone!). We usually order the chicken teriyaki with shrimp tempura -$4.99 each!!!! Seriously, where else can two people eat (and I mean eat until you're stuffed!) for less than $15!!!!!! Their other food is great too, mmm, sushi. And the service is exceptional. It is not unusual to be offered a complimentary bowl of miso soup if we've been waiting to pick up our order for more than a few minutes! -

I would highly recommend Lora, her cuts are AMAZING!!!
A woman I work with has really great hair and so I wasn't surprised when I found out that the only person she lets cut her hair is Lora!
As for price, they're not cheap, but they're not outrageous either. Probably average for a decent cut, but I think the $$ is MORE than worth it to get such a great hair cut and style!! Seriously, it may just be hair, but your hair gets seen by the world EVERY day; it should look great and the stylists at this place will make that happen!
