IT cosmetics naturally pretty matte luxe trio

I have to admit, I was not looking to buy any cosmetics-I am still seething over the fact that I am on 3 separate waiting lists for a 'highly coveted' Urban Decay Naked Palette (very frustrating).
I came across this on a random google search.
Glad I did.
This is an unknown company to me. It is sold on the Shopping Channel, which always worries me a bit in terms of availability and stability.
This is a neutral trio-I didn't know anything about it but read some reviews and thought it wasn't crazy expensive so why not give it a try. I decided to take it with me on a recent business trip to a very warm climate- a real test (standing up to heat and humidity).
It passed the test-with flying colors! This shadow is velvety soft and has a matte finish. It applies well and has great staying power! According to the website, this makeup "...infuses cutting edge medical grade anti-aging technology into truly innovative highly pigmented color cosmetics." Since I didn't order any colors that were incredibly pigmented I can't say that is true, but I do plan on ordering more products. The prices are decent for the quality and shipping is super fast!
For now, this trio is in my everyday rotation-it's a great look for work and if I want to glam it up I can just add a little more of the darker color!

I was super excited when I found a salon in Toronto that has Gelish. It's similar to Shellac and Axxium but there are almost 50 colors to choose from. I love options so I thought I would give it a try.
I had been going there for about a month (notice I said 'HAD'). The service is good, the price is average-it's what I would expect to pay for this product/application. Pretty in the city is known for it's eyelash extensions-apparently they are amazing. I haven't tried them for this yet so I can't comment on that but I will say that the eyelash room is always full when I have been there. The staff is friendly, but the salon is small and I am always moving my chair in for staff to walk behind me. Location, location, location!
My only hang up with this place is that they almost never pick up the phone. When you call to make an appointment, you have to leave a message and someone will (eventually) call you back. Sometimes they will call you within an hour, sometimes it will be a day. This normally wasn't a problem for me-but if you are in a rush or are going to be late, you may have an issue!
Case in point-I had an appointment for Friday at 6pm. I get off work at 5pm. I got stuck on the subway (underground) due to what the TTC termed a 'personal injury on track level.' At the next station, I got off the train and tried to call Pretty in the City TWICE. No answer! I got back on the train and got stuck in between stations. I got off the train and was waiting for a shuttle bus (since all the trains were turning back at a station before my stop). That was at 5:45 pm. So I called again and left a message asking Pretty in the City to call me on my work phone. Nothing. I called and left another message asking someone to please call me back as soon as possible. I didn't want to get on a shuttle bus, get there and be told that I was late, and they couldn't fit me in!
Well, someone listened to my message and called my home number (I wasn't home so I didn't get that message). So when they finally called me back at 6:30, I had already gone home and was really frustrated!! The technician said that they could possibly reschedule but since I am leaving on Monday for a business trip, I didn't want to take the chance.
I am most likely not going to return here. I am pretty disappointed that they don't think it is important to answer the phone. Isn't that how salons get business-by making appointments?
So the Gelish is great but you are taking a chance with service......

I am going to start off by admitting that I bought this product mainly for the packaging. It is just adorable. Pretty pink hearts (different shades of pink) in a pink compact that also has it's own mirror and brush.
I bought the translucent powder and I have to say that for a 'drugstore' brand, it's pretty good. The powder is supposed to contain 'mood-boosting' ingredients and is scented (it smelled like violet to me). It applies easily-the brush that it comes with is actually appropriate to use with it (I hate when companies put cheap brushes/applicators in with their products).
To be fair, I have only used this for one day-I am not tossing any products for this but it will go into my makeup bag in my purse for touch ups. I can always use a mood boost!
*p.s. I bought this powder on sale AND there is a $6.00 rebate coupon on the front of it as well-woo hoo!*

I didn't really experience bigger lips....however, it's a great gloss that isn't overly sticky or obnoxious in color. It goes on nicely over lipstick and really shines!
Totally worth the price!

I was in Buffalo yesterday getting my car winterized....after I dropped it off at 8am, I thought, 'what the heck am I going to do?' The mall wasn't opening for another hour. I decided to hit a brand new (< 3 months old) Walmart.
I am so glad I did...I found this awesome Hard Candy makeup display...and stumbled upon the Naturally Naughty kit The kit contains an eye primer, 2 eye shadows, 1 eye liner, 1 black volumizing mascara, and 1 gold glitter mascara.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any pictures of the kit on Google. I love it though! The 2 eye shadows are earth tones with shimmer. they look great on! The mascara is decent. Best part is, this kit takes up half the size of my normal products so it's a must for travel!
The only thing this kit is missing is brushes/applicators. Luckily, I scored some really nice elf brushes at Dollarama (get there-these are a steal), and this makeup applies like a dream!

Ever since I walked into Pure and Simple products I have been using their skincare line. I love it for several reasons, one of which being it's natural. I also love that it's made in Canada and that the owner of the spa (Kristen Ma) truly stands behind what she sells.
This serum is part of my regime that I did NOT purchase the first time I had a facial. I am SO glad I bought it the second time. It is totally worth the price and a little goes a long way. Here is what the website says about this serum:
