Hey everyone! It's great to be back on ChickAdvisor after an academic exile. The first thing I did was go to the spa, and I found this very affordable place with very good service. The girls who work there are really nice, super fashionable, and know what they are doing. They offer great manicures, pedicures, facials, and waxing services. They are located in Scarborough, in the Agincourt mall. Very affordable, decent, and professional service. So if you're in the area and want something done well, but are tight on cash, go here. -

This has to be my favourite body wash. (I know, it seems like I only always update about body washes and say that about every one). But THIS one is really special. The best part: it contains shea butter extract, which makes for a very smooth and silky post-shower-and-exfoliation experience. If you tend to experience dryness or redness from exfoliation, I highly recommend using this body wash as it really deep moisturizes. I would give this a 20 on a scale of 10!! -

This spray didn't add much; I felt that it was rather mild. Even 10 minutes after application, I saw frizz coming off the sides. So for me, this product was a no-no. -

I really enjoy my shower experience with this product, especially my post-workout shower. The tingly, cool and refreshing scents and feel really go a long way. I'd totally buy this product over and over, despite the price.

Nair Cire Divine Visage No Strip Wax
OK so this requires a lot of practice and mess tolerance. The moral of the story, before everything else is: if you do want to wax your face, do use strips. They're much easier to manage and control, and less messy. Nair microwaveable wax heats up... +

Nair microwaveable wax heats up in your microwave, of course.. and you have to get it to a certain goopy consistency that's flexible enough but not hot enough to scald your skin. Prep time of a new jar was... about 20 minutes! Don't know if everyone has that kind of time on their hands.
And then make sure you have a plate underneath your plastic jar of Nair wax. Cuz wax comes out in STRINGS as soon as you stick in your stirring rod or spatula. And it's hard to disengage your strings (in time, cuz the wax hardens in air in about 20 seconds) so that you can actually apply the stuff to your face! So yeah I had a plate (and bathroom) full of thin wax strings!!! I should have taken a picture, sigh.
But results: the hair DID come off, eventually. My total chin/upper lip wax experience took about an hour of maneuvering! The wax had to be reheated in the microwave upstairs every 10 minutes or so. But yes, the basic procedure is: apply the wax in a small strip on the area when it's still fluid, and wait for a bit (10-15 seconds). It hardens. Then, taut your skin, and pull out close to the skin. And the hair will come off. Pick up the strays with tweezers later. You'll find that you'll have to wash evverything first before using tweezers, cuz your face will still be sticky. NOT recommended for sensitive skin!!! I did break out a bit right after the wax experience, but it settled down in about an hour for me.

The architecture and layout of the restaurant are very unique, and the service is very good (hot waiters included). You won't regret checking this out if you're in the area (near Church and Yonge). -

Perfect for that date you've always wanted to talk to, or a birthday present for a close family member/friend, or for girls lunch out! And I say that because the selection of HEALTHY plates on this menu is just tantalizing. Never been to a restaurant that respects caloric and food group portions so much. They have an delicious selection of seafood salads, which I totally recommend. So far, I've tried the Grilled Atlantic Salmon on baby spinach and the Cashew-Crusted Chicken on Japanese Caesar and enjoyed them both. Both did cost a lot ($17) but were really filling and very worth it. I NEVER feel guilty after eating here! -

Allright. So I wanted to 'upgrade' from pressed powders to loose powders for the longest time. So I thought of starting out with this relatively affordable loose powder range. I used the colour planner on the CG website and bought the "Translucent Medium" shade. I definitely find the loose powder to result in a smooth, full-powdered finish, especially after moisturizer/cream foundation. I find that quite a bit of powder has to be shaken on to the puff in order to apply it. This is because the puff is much larger and more absorbent than pressed-powder applicator discs. But overall, I'd give this product a good rating, for the finish. -

'bells out' a bit, has beautiful buttons going on that you can vary in any way you want.. and looks FANTASTIC no matter what I stick it on! I ALWAYS turn heads with this jacket.. I'm sooo happy with this purchase :) -
