Earlier today I received my Sweet Delight Divalicious Sample Box. I was so excited that I had to open it up right away and check out all the goodies. One of the items I received was from a Canadian company called Paperdoll Mineral Cosmetics. They are based in Sidney, BC. I had not heard of them, but I am very glad they decided to contribute to the sample box.
I received a Pouty Gloss lip gloss in the colour Pout In Pink. While the shade looks quite dark, it is really a very soft purply pink, and has a shimmer to it. When I opened the tube it had a minty scent which I quite liked. The application was excellent - smooth and silky. The gloss wasn't sticky at all, and it gave my lips a nice glow.
Paperdoll sells their Pouty Gloss for $13, and according to their website S&H;is another $12 plus 12% HST is added to all products. At that price, I'm not sure I would have purchased this lip gloss, but I can certainly say that I am happy to be able to add it to my collection.

Have you seen these chubby sticks from Clinique? I love them! They are highly pigmented, extremely moisturizing lip balms. They are also lots of fun to apply - like a giant crayon.
I initially saw them at the Clinique counter at The Bay, and I believe they were about $20. I wasn't prepared to pay that much for them at first, and decided to wait. One day, while shopping at duty free in the airport, I saw that they carried the Chubby Sticks! I was thrilled to find them at a slightly discounted price (i think about $17, if memory serves), but with the added tax savings I scooped one up.
The colour I selected was Whole Lotta Honey (#02). It seemed a "safe" first choice. Well, when I got home and tried it, I was disappointed I didn't pick up more! I love the way it applied, so smooth and silky. My lip had moisture, long-lasting colour and shine. What more could you ask for in a colour lip balm?
I later picked up a second one in Graped-Up (#08) which has a hint of purple to it. I included pictures of the two swatched colours, so you can see the difference.
I will definitely be buying more of these, and when I checked online it seems that they have a bunch of new colours: Heaping Hazelnut, Bountiful Blush, Two Ton Tomato, Oversized Orange, Mighty Mimosa, Curvy Candy, Pudgy Peony, and Voluptuous Violet. These eight are in addition to the original eight: Woppin' Watermelon, Whole Lotta Honey, Mega Melon, Fuller Fig, Richer Raisin, Graped-Up, Super Strawberry, and Chunky Cherry. Go check them out; you are sure to find a colour (or two) that is right for you!

Are you familiar with Rocky Mountain Soap Company (RMSC)? If not, I highly recommend checking them out! I have used many of their products, and not a single one has let me down. They are all absolutely wonderful!
I am writing today about their lip butter. It is available in strawberry, apricot, coconut, green apple, lemon lime and peppermint. I'm not sure why I ordered the apricot one instead or the peppermint of the strawberry, but there is no going back. I LOVE the way this lip butter smells. It reminds my of the Strawberry Shortcake dolls I had as a kid.
Other than smelling heavenly, the formula is very rich, but not heavy. It glides across my lips, and leaves just the right amount of moisture. My lips never feel waxy or coated, just soft and smooth and very kissable! :)
RMSC's website describes the product as "A long lasting blend of cocoa butter, beeswax and sweet almond oil provides rich moisturization, easy glide application and a protective barrier from natures elements. This coupled with a fresh apricot flavour for a sweet summery scent."
I just adore this product and cannot say enough good things about it. I use it every morning and it always makes me smile. While I am curious about the other scents, there is no way I would buy them since this one is just too good!
Recently I heard some good news that made me really happy: They are expanding the apricot line! New products are now available in the same scent. I checked their website and they now have apricot body butter, apricot hand & body wash, apricot organic sugar scrub and apricot bath salts. I cannot tell you how happy this makes me!
If apricot is not your thing, I would try another scent, but definitely give their products a go. I don't think you will be disappointed. Oh, and just FYI, they don't typically have sales for their products since they like to offer their customers the lowest price year-round.

While killing time in an airport duty free store one day, I came across a tube of L'Occitane's shea hand cream in Hibiscus. It smelled AMAZING and I had to have it. I used the entire tube in about two weeks as I kept re-applying it just to smell that glorious scent.
Well sadly, when I got back home and tried to find another tube, I was highly unsuccessful. I checked many stores both in Canada and the US. It seemed to be a limited edition product and was no longer available. I was very sad. I had tried the original version, and while just as effective, it didn't smell as good.
One day, one of the sales ladies encouraged me to smell a few of the other scents she had available. That was how I stumbled upon Cherry Blossom. While not quite as good as my beloved Hibiscus, it was a close second.
I picked up a couple of tubes (having learned my lesson) and have been using it ever since.
The formula is very lightweight and absorbs very quickly. My hands don't feel greasy afterwards, just well moisturized. The scent is very subtle once rubbed in. It smells floral - almost like roses, but not.
I have been very happy with my purchase, and will continue to use this hand cream.
Oh, and a little happy ending to my story.... I found the hibiscus scent online! I ordered a few, but I hope they continue to carry it because it is still my favourite!

I always find that the area under my eye is dark. I have tried different concealer products, but nothing ever wows me. I was watching a beauty blogger on YouTube creating a look, and one of her steps was to use the Garnier Nutritionist Skin Renew Anti-Dark-Circle Eye Roller. I had used the Anti-Puff eye roller which I found cooling, but that's about all. I had never tried this tinted version. I watched the beauty blogger apply the formula and was amazed how quickly her dark circles vanished! I ran out to pick one up, and have been using it ever since.
I sometimes have trouble with the ball sticking, but a few strokes against my hand usually clears that up. The application is very easy, and I have used both a foundation brush as well as my fingers to buff in the product. Either way, the application is flawless. It provides full coverage with a very thin formula. It dries quickly to a very soft finish, and above all, it lightens and brightens my eyes.
I am very happy with this product and will definitely continue to use it.

I picked up a bottle of Marcelle BB cream (light to medium) one day while shopping at Walmart. I had heard many people talking about BB creams and wanted to give one a try. The box claimed 8 benefits in 1 product, so I decided to try the Marcelle product.
I don't have the box anymore, but I found the following online: "Your age and your skin type don’t matter! This Beauty Balm with self-adjusting pigments, powerful antioxidants, aloe and chamomile does it all for you: (1) Evens out skin tone, (2) Offers immediate and long-term hydrating benefits, (3) Protects from premature aging and environmental stresses, (4) Promotes skin regeneration, (5) Matifies skin and controls shine, (6) Soothes and calms skins, (7) Minimizes the appearance of imperfections and pores, (8) Excellent make-up base provides anti-dull radiant complexion."
I didn't try the product right away because I already had an open foundation, but I decided to give it a try one day. I used it the very same way I use foundation meaning that I applied a face primer first, and then used my foundation brush to apply the BB cream. While it didn't offer the same coverage as my foundation, I really liked the product. It seemed to absorb quickly, and matched my skin tone nicely. My face didn't feel dry or flaky, nor did it feel oily. I wasn't shiny, but I did have a certain glow. I thought that this would be a great product for the summer since it is so lightweight.
I did not continue to use as I was trying to finish my open foundation, and subsequently forgot I had it. (Out of sight, out of mind.) Recently I came back from vacation and on my first day back to work I had to pause. My skin tone was slightly darker since I had just spent a week in the Caribbean, and my foundation would surely be too light. I was at a loss on what to do, until I found the bottle of BB cream in my drawer. Since it is for light to medium, and I was certainly more of a medium post-holiday, I decided to give it a try. I was very pleased! Once again it blended nicely and matched my skin tone.
I continue to use the BB cream every day now, and will probably use it throughout the summer. I will definitely purchase this BB cream again.

I purchased EYE WONDER from eBeauty.ca for $42 (20 mL) after trying other Vasanti Cosmetic products and loving them. Vasanti's website states, "Finally an eye cream that helps get rid of the appearance of puffiness, wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes, no matter the cause! Most people don't know why they have dark rings / bags under the eyes - Whether it's hereditary, thinning skin, broken capillaries, inflammation or lack of sleep, Vasanti has included the latest in botanicals and peptide technology to help combat, no matter the cause."
Personally I don't have very dark circles, but the shadow was starting to bothering me, and I needed a new eye cream. I have been using this product for over a month now, and I really like it. I don't see a huge difference yet, but it seems like I have decreased puffiness, and the shadow seems slightly faded. I find it both cooling and moisturizing, and plan to continue using it.
I don't find that there is any scent at all to the cream. It is lightweight and absorbs quickly. As you can see from the image enclosed, a little goes a long way. I basically just dab my two index fingers in the jar, and smooth it around my eye - both above and below.
