I have always been fond of Essie nail polish. They have a vast selection of fun colours to choose from and I find their polish really lasts. I was extremely fortunate to attend the Essie event to kick start Toronto's 2014 Fashion Week where I had Essie Canada's lead nail artist, Rita Remark, gussy up my nails with a beautiful polish job with a vibrant red-orange colour called "clambake." Essie polishes aren't one to break the bank either (which is a huge plus pour moi). -

I wasn't sure of the whole BB/CC Cream phenomena until I tried it, and only now am I kicking myself for not having tried it for all of these years. It is the perfect base I have always needed before applying my makeup. It gives you full coverage while blending your complexion to an even tone. I also really like the moisturizing element to it. Though I don't know if it's an added benefit of BB creams, I found that my make up lasts much longer when I wear it.
There's a wide range of BB creams that vary in price. I would say this is more of a higher end BB cream but I think you get what you pay for and if a product works for me, I'm sold for life!

Stars across the board, ladies.
I was very grateful to be invited to the grand opening of Hard Candy Fitness Toronto in February 2014 upon Madonna's visit to the gym (as it is her line of luxury fitness studios). Hard Candy Fitness is up and running world wide now and now Toronto when it opened in November 2013.
The state of the art facility is stunning, well-kept and massive. I went mid-day so traffic was rather low which is always nice when you have your eyes on a machine. That being said, they have over 100 pieces of cardio and strength equipment and offer over 60 fun classes a week.
I tried electric yoga (yoga with house music), powerball pilates (pilates with weighted exercise ball) and Addicted to Sweat which stood out to me the most. It is split up into 30 minutes of conditioning with gradual integration of the dance moves later to come. The second half of the class is spent learning/performing the dance moves. I got to learn "the hustle" - which for me, having been out of dance classes for a decade now, was hilarious, fun and challenging.
Membership rates are a bit on the higher end at around $90/month. However, if I was living in the area and was looking for a gym to join, this would not limit me. You definitely get what you pay for here. Again, the facility is stunning (be sure to take a couple laps around the change room) and the staff are wonderful and very friendly. I always say "you can't put a price on your health" but I understand it is subjective to everyone.

But really, Mary Kay seems to really be stepping up their game and move from their old "aged" look. At 23, I feel like this product is very much age appropriate and has a line of fabulous colours (perfect for summer) that will make your lips pop!
I'm usually a bit indifferent when it comes to lip glosses because of their sticky nature but I found this one to be nice in particular because it holds it's shine and colour throughout the day but it is also easy to wash off.

Every morning I put this on, I thank the Clinique God's for creating such a masterpiece. I always kick myself for squeezing out too much on my hand beforehand as I always end up with left over product after applying it to my face. Point being, you don't need much of this AT ALL. The tiny bottle is deceiving considering how long it lasts you. I usually only refresh my stock of this once a year as I only use it strictly under the eyes and over a few blemishes. $20.00 is most definitely a reasonable price for this product considering the quality and effectiveness of it. -

Being a new user of primers/pore minimizers, I am happy to have started with this one. I was able to experience improved smooth-looking [and feeling] skin without breaking the bank (Retail price $24.99).
Throughout my 2 weeks of using it, I only applied it in the morning though I think I'm going to amp up my usage at nights as well (more amp = better, faster results, right?)
It has the silkiest feel to it and doesn't feel like you are clogging your pores with anything when applying. I found it made me make up last the day too. Imagine that - a skin treatment meets beauty solution all in one bottle! Thumbs up to that.

This is your happy medium between Burt's Bee and Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment. It has been my saviour this winter in keeping my lips from cracking and staying hydrated. At $4.97 a piece, it'll hardly make a dent in your bank account and keep your lip care supply lasting for up to 2 months (with casual usage). -

If you're looking for a good crunchy, salty (with a hint of sweetness) snack to get you through that 3:00pm slump, these should be your #1 go-to. They are much more satisfying than your average potato chip (with an unusual amount of curly/twisty chips - my favourite!) and the flavour feels much more powerful than your ordinary BBQ chip. God bless kettle cookin'! -

I couldn't believe how silky smooth this lotion was when I first put it on my body. I had recently come from another body lotion (which will not be named) that, though very moisturizing, was so thick it felt like I was smothering sour cream on my body. Better yet, greek yogurt.
This lotion, for sensitive skin like mine, is the perfect viscosity to apply onto dry crackled skin. It absorbs into your pores nicely and leaves your skin feeling hydrated, not greasy or sticky. Not to mention, it's long lasting moisture allows the shea butter essence to linger around for hours on end.
I also like that it contains natural ingredients (Boosted Organic Sweet Almond Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Rose Water, Shea Butter).
Though it has a heavier price tag (around $30.00), your skin is an investment worth making. I should mention you don't need much of this lotion to reap the highly moisturizing benefits so it should last a while.

I was lucky enough to try this product at the #pantenebeautifulhair pop up hair salon where Pantene offered free professional blow outs to 50 members in our community. The lovely Cia Saldutto worked her magic on my locks using the Damage Detox Collection and let me tell you, my hair has never felt so fresh, clean and light.
I was especially fond of the mosa mint oil which gives you a mild tingley feeling while washing your hair which added to the overall fresh feeling. I also really liked the weekly rehab cream which is a deep conditioning treatment to revive dry dead hair into soft and silky locks.
Though it wasn't enough to notice after one wash, I'm excited to use this product (with the oh-so-generous swag bag of the damage detox collection from Pantene) for an extended duration to reap the benefits of the anti-copper technology which protects your hair from the damage induced by copper minerals in your water. This product is great for someone with hair like mine who struggles with dryness, frizz and colour-treatment maintenance.
