Our shower drain was getting sllloooooooooooow lately and we couldn't figure out how to get the drain open (some kind of push/pull plug type drain cover w/ no obvious way to remove it) to clear it from what is most assuredly hair from my head. So, we hit up the store for some liquid-plumr and saw this stuff. WOW, is it amazing. Its essentially two separate liquids joined together only at the nozzle. As you slowly pour them down the drain, the two liquids mix and foam. Pour the whole foamy phenomenon down the drain and wait a full hour, then run hot water for a bit. Your drain will run like new ... maybe even better!!

Yay! I just finished this book yesterday. Midway through, I thought to myself, since the format of this book is unlike any of its predecessors, all the previous books were essentially worthless. Sure, you needed to read them to know a lot of the references in the final book, but the content of those books seemed so juvenile and wasted. But as I read on it became apparent that ALL of it was important. JK Rowling did a really good job sewing in so many details from all of the previous books. So many open issues are closed. Everything is resolved. Once you get past a certain point in the story the book is page turner that was really hard to put down.
I find it interesting that the cover art appears to be different for the States vs. Canada!

I had high expectations for this product, given all the good things I've heard about this brand. Ugh! I'm disappointed. This product left my face more oily than before I washed it! I like that it moisturizes my face, but its waaaay too much. I don't even bother following up w/ moisiturizer after using it. So the only method I've managed to come up w/ to not make this purchase a total waste is to use it, to exfoliate, and then wash my face a 2nd time w/ my normal cleanser. This stuff does not work for me ... perhaps someone else will have better luck. -

For a recent 5 hour drive to Los Angeles I decided to pass the time w/ a book on CD. So I visited my local library and found this title! I knew of Confessions of a Shopaholic (thanks to ChickAdvisor), though had never read it, and thought I'd give it a whirl.
The story is a fun, light, humorous read ... er, listen. The storyline was light enough that I could follow along easily while still concentrating on the road. The only challenge was that I had to listen more attentively than I would normally b/c the book was read by a British woman. My ears would perk at different pronunciations, emphasis, and even new words altogether!
The book was fun and it accomplished my goal ... make the drive to Los Angeles a bit more bearable!

If you're not one for the standard line of energy bars out there (powerbar, luna bar, pria bar, harvest bar, etc...) then Big Sur Bar is for you! This is a company out of Bishop, CA (USA). They use no preservatives and only natural ingredients -- you can say and pronounce each ingredient on the label. B/c they use no preservatives, you can freeze them for later use and they still taste just as good.
These bars are PACKED w/ energy. Each bar is 600 calories which is perfect for an all day adventure. Rather than packing gobs of food, most of what you need is all in one small bar. And if you don't need that many calories for your activity, just eat what you want. You'll be more than satisfied.
Their flavors are really really good! My favorite is "Blind Date"; however their chocolate and white chocolate / orange zest flavors are great, too. These taste like some homemade treat -- no weird chemical after taste.
For those of you not in California, the best way to get your hands on a bar is to order online from their website (http://bigsurbar.com). If you love it you may consider encouraging your local gym, outdoors store, or natural foods market to carry them in stock.
I LOVE these things!

I recently had my wisdom teeth removed and this is the product the oral surgeon's office provides for its patients. I figure it must be just fine if they endorse it. So, while I heal, to keep my big mouth craters clean and free of food particles, I rinse w/ scope after ever meal and snack. The flavor is great and the burning effect minimal. Its a much more pleasant experience than Listerine. I cannot vouch for all the trendy new flavors and colors. I stick to the original that I know works and is recommended by my doctor. Scope it out! -

Mmmmmm, another yummy chocolate cereal. I ate gobs and gobs of the new Special K chocolate cereal that I'm now burnt out on it. But just in time, chex came out w/ their own version. Its fabulous! There are no yummy chocolate chunks like Special K, but the powdery cocoa sprinkled on the chex pieces is wonderful in its own chexy way. Run out to the store and grab some!! -

One of the threads on chickchat prompted me to dig out this book and post a review. So, w/ that, I'd like to call your attention to a book I read several years ago. Its called "He's Just Not That Into You -- The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys" and is authored by a writer and a consultant from "Sex and the City", Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo. This book is a great read, it goes quickly, and its loaded w/ real love-life examples that we can all relate to. So if you question how "into you" that one guy is, quit hyper-analyzing his actions and quit making excuses for his behavior. Grab this book and start learning how to read a guy and settle in w/ the one that really is that into you! -

This is a nice shampoo/conditioner. There is nothing too remarkable about it, though. I guess for a shampoo/conditioner for "no major issues" it delivers no major or remarkable results! The scent is nice, though not to die for. The packaging aesthetics could use some improvement. However, the design of the bottles is great. The nozzle/spout is one of those that cleanly pinches off the liquid keeping your bottle clean and not gummed up. The shampoo/conditioner leaves my hair soft. And the shampoo lathers like no other. There are plenty of suds left over to shampoo up your entire body ... which I do now and again when I'm too lazy to take the extra step to use soap! ;-) -
