I've been suffering from allergies lately. I know that colds and flu are different from allergies, but w/ similar symptoms, I was prompted to review this product for everybody. Developed by a local (central California) school teacher, Airborne is an effervescent you dissolve in water when you feel you are coming down w/ cold and/or flu symptoms. The product is loaded w/ vitamins and minerals designed to boost your immune system and fend off any suspect invaders. This product is very popular in my area and many retailers are carrying their own generic version at a reduced price. I've had good success w/ this product, as long as you are religious about using it regularly once symptoms begin to rear their ugly head.
The company's website (http://www.airbornehealth.com) indicates the retailers that carry the product. If no stores are near you, you can purchase the product online.
I've tried both the lemon/lime and orange flavors. Both go down easy, but don't leave you "craving for more!" There are new flavors out there now, too, like grapefruit.
Next time you've got a case of the sniffles, reach for the Airborne and put up your defenses!

Alexx Calise's album really rocks! I listened to the 2 tracks available on her myspace page and I wasn't immediately sold. But once I got the cd and listened through it a few times, I was really diggin' her sound. I found myself humming her catchy tunes at the gym and even in meetings at work. Her sound strikes me as similar two to artists. Her raw voice and lyrics remind me of Ani DiFranco -- so much so that I dug out my old Ani cd and am listening to it right now! Alexx's sound and energy also reminds me of an edgier Gwen Stefani, when she did a bit more rock stuff (and less of the tech/pop sound). Alexx combines a lot of different tempos and sounds throughout the album. My favorite tracks are "Give it to Me" and "Falling". And one of the best features of Alexx's is that I can hear and understand all of her lyrics -- she pronounces (unlike some singers). Overall, its a great album! You should get it -- support our fellow chickies!! -

Radio Paradise is an internet streaming radio station. There are no commercials and they are listener supported. They also have some cute merchandise if you feel inclined to support them in other ways. I LOVE their music. If you are into eclectic mixes of non-mainstream bands, you'll love Radio Paradise. Some of the groups that make it to their play lists frequently include: Frou Frou, Coldplay, Postal Service, The Shins, Chris Isaak, Elvis Costello, KT Tunstall, Suzanne Vega, Ani DiFranco, and on and on and on. The tone is pretty low key and laid back. If you like music w/ a bit of a stronger edge to it, this probably won't satisfy that craving.

Of all the different pain relievers out there, this one is my top choice. I've always chosen ibuprofen over the other options out there (Naproxen, Acetaminophen, etc ...). I never realized the way the medicine enters your system to could make such a difference. Last month I spent a weekend camping and cross-country skiing with some pals from grad school up at Lake Tahoe. I live at sea level, so the altitude was getting to me BIG TIME. After a day of skiing it was all I could do to shove down some dinner. It didn't stay down for long. On top of that, I had a ROARING headache. My friend dipped into his first aid kit and pulled these out. I took JUST ONE and within 30 minutes it was a miracle worker. If Advil Liqui-Gels can bet high altitude headaches and nausea, its a keeper for me!
$10.00 may seem expensive, but its for a bottle of 80 Liqui-Gels.

But to me, it still tastes good. It reminds me of just sprinkling some mini semi-sweet morsels on my cereal. Genius! -

So I fill up my 1 liter nalgene bottles and take off. They're incredibly durable and look great slathered in cool stickers. Also, they advertise that they'll never break. However, my boyfriend dropped his when getting out of the car (hardly a long fall) and it cracked! He mailed it back to nalgene and they sent him a brand new one! A company of their word -- gotta love that. -
