I received the Dreamworks Dragon as a free product from Butterly and Spin Master to test with my children 3,7,10. Unfortunately this one was not popular and as soon as the box was opened and the dragon's wings and tail put on my children promptly lost the toy and it hasn't been asked about since. The colors are nice, the box is ok (didn't really open nicely) but the wings seemed to fall off a lot and as stated none of my three children seemed very interested after the first few minutes whereas other toys we have reviewed from Spin Master have been played with constantly since receiving them. Sadly this one was a miss with my kids. -

I received L'Occitane shea nail and cuticle oil to try on my hands. Being a potter my nails and hands are constantly dry no matter the season, so the thick easily absorbed oil that was so easily applied with the brush head was amazing! My nails are looking so much better, and a little product goes a long way.
My one negative is that I find the scent a bit too strong but the fact that the oil works so well makes it a non issue.

I was given the opportunity to test Myoflex® Extra Strength Deep Penetrating Pain Relief Rub. I have beginning arthritis in my foot so after a long day of being on my feet the extra strength property of Myoflex helped ease my aches.
I like the fact it absorbs very quickly and isn't greasy on my clothing. I don't feel anything but pain relief (no stinging heat or cold). I also used it on my back after a workout and it quickly helped my muscles. The fact I don't smell like I've used muscle rub is really nice as I can use it and go out without feeling conspicuous.
It comes in a generous sized tube which is good for value for someone who uses it regularly.
Great product, I will use when needed and I would definitely purchase again once it runs out!

I used the MotoMaster 600 Lumens LED Work Light & Speaker, 2-pk

The good: lightweight with a durable case. The light is decent and it's nice to have a dual function item.
The ok: pairing was easy the first time but you can only pair one speaker to a phone at a time. The dual speaker is only useful as dual lights as you can't play music from both at the same time. There is only one volume for pairing sound - LOUD although this is understandable on a noisy worksite!
The bad: pairing stopped working for one of the speakers and one button on one of the speakers intermittently which meant it stayed on without me knowing and turned off loudly late at night.
Overall it's a useful idea of a simple and durable speaker, I just wish the buttons worked reliably and if possible could be synced.

I received a set of Noma Outdoor C9 LED with Winterguard, Blue/White, 4.9-m, 24-pc from Canadian Tire through Butterly. They are large, bright and make my outdoor display cheerful. The wire is heavy duty, the pattern is a classic blue and white and I had no issues wrapping the lights around my display and plugging into my other lights.
I'm very pleased with these lights and I feel they will last a long time.

First impressions - it's kind of scary which might be the point but has mixed reviews from my three children.
Youngest (3): Loved it when it was off, screamed in horror when it's on and runs away. Takes two hours for sisters to convince him it's fun. Now he says he loves the colors and it's fun to play with.
Middle (7): This is awesome! (Chases the other family members with it). Loves that it moves and is funny to see others reactions. "This is great for April Fools!"
Oldest (9) : Thought it was hilarious.
My take: It's fun, light, scary but the kids enjoy setting it off as a prank. Its decently durable but the long delicate legs might not be up to continuous use. The battery was quickly used up so it will be a use when needed toy.

I received a Mastercraft 40W Dual Temperature Glue Gun Set, 6-pc to test by Canadian Tire and Butterly.
Overall this is a product that works as a glue gun but the dual heat isn't a real selling point for me as it didn't work that much better than the low heat. If the glue stayed hot longer with the extra heat I would be happier with the product. The accessories are what is great about this product - the silicon mat works beautifully, and the silicon finger protection is also nice. I used the three together as I have small hands and they fit on my thumb, forefinger and middle, but if you had wider fingers these would not fit.
The built in stand is a nice addition, and the trigger compresses pretty easily. It takes about 10 minutes to really heat up but once it does heat it stays heated which is nice.
The glue itself isn't amazing sadly, and I could easily peel it off from my wooden doll chair I made from sticks. The fact it's also not clear is a annoying as well (I am aware I can purchase clear). Perhaps it is the glue itself that let the product down it might be worth me trying a different kind?
Overall the accessories are what makes this kit and unfortunately not the function of the glue and glue gun itself.

I received this vaccum to review through Butterly and Canadian Tire and absolutely love it. It's light to hold, it cleans right to the wall, it swivels around the tightest corners and has enough power to clean our hard surfaces well. On carpet it doesn't do amazingly on thicker pile but for dusting, tight spaces, couch crumbs and upholstery it shines! Compared to our other vacuums (shop vaccum, wash and vaccum, robot and heavy duty cleaner) it compares as a nice easy to use in tight spaces tool. I especially like the flexible hose with the thin end attachment for couch cleaning.
For heavy duty work this isn't my go to tool but for the right job it's great. Even the kids can use it for basic house cleaning which is a bonus! No cords makes it so easy to maneuver and store. The dual power options are also nice as you can up the power for more dirt if needed (for the right job of household mess - not shop mess). The carry tool bag is a great idea and keeps the pieces together as they don't store on the vaccum.
The one negative was the battery (sold separately) which I was also given to test - it unfortunately let the tool down as it didn't outlast the job of cleaning! The vaccum however is a winner and I love using it.

I have been given the chance to review the PWR POD 20V MAX 2.0 Ah Battery & Charger Starter Kit through Butterly. The battery took 50 minutes to charge which was fine, however within 13 minutes of low power usage the battery was dead and very hot! I used the battery to power the Mastercraft Cordless Handheld vacuum on my hardwood floors. Unfortunately the quickly draining battery (used on the low vacuum setting) did not allow me to complete my task which was very annoying. Once I went to charge the battery it showed it as overheating so I needed to let it sit for 20 minutes to cool down before recharging which further delayed my task. Everything was done correctly, I read the manual and followed directions. It seems that I either have a defective product or the system perhaps needs some tweeks? Very unfortunate as the products that use this system have been wonderful. -

This week I received a free package of Plantropy's Jackfruit vegan "chicken" dumplings to test. We are not a vegan family but enjoy all different varieties of food. My entire family tried them except for the three year old who was having a grumpy food day. Everyone who ate them was positive about the complex flavor and good texture of the food (I did not tell the children what flavor the dumplings were so they would have no prejudices against what they were eating). My daughters especially really enjoyed them and gave them a "five star" review score. My husband who is pretty critical about dumplings (being one of his favorite foods) also gave it a positive review "for it not actually being chicken it was really good." I also really enjoyed the dumplings and would have them again as a side dish in a meal (they are higher in salt then what we normally serve to the kids albeit the fruit fibre content is great). They were quick and easy to prepare and were a fun and different side dish for our meal.
