I was selected to try Rogaine Foam for women by #ChickAdvisor—I was provided the product free in return for my honest review.
Sadly, I cannot provide a review for the full 3 month trial, as I developed an allergic reaction to the product. At the time the reaction developed, I had only been using the product for a few weeks, so had not seen any new hair growth; however, had also not seen any *less* hair where it was applied. The product was easy to dispense & apply, left no noticeable scent behind, dried quickly & did not leave my hair sticky.
I have read numerous reviews that praise Rogaine as a great solution for thinning hair & have seen results in friends who have used it. I wish I had been able to complete the full three month trial.

My hubby ordered me the “Legends” Thin Unicorn silicone ring from Enso Rings, based on the level of “ooh” & “aaahh” from me when I saw it online. Enso sells silicone rings—a neat alternative to traditional metal rings, safer for the fingers in lots of workplaces/situations, easy to work out in, super comfortable. The Legends collection has 2 rings (Unicorn & Yeti) in both thin & classic widths. The Unicorn ring shows as a very pretty, pearlescent (almost satin-ish looking texture) iridescent white ring. The pics on the company’s website are *so* pretty. That collection has channels cut into the inside of the ring as well to help keep the skin on your finger healthy, promoting airflow & moisture wicking (yeah, there’s a reason for mentioning this).
Alas, the beautiful Unicorn is still somewhat of a myth. The ring I received is much more glittery than pictured & has very unfinished looking edges (they look fresh cut or pulled out of a mould, not at all smoothed or tapered as depicted online). The biggest disappointment however was in regards to the channels I mentioned above—they very clearly show through on the surface of the ring. Not so much texture-wise, but as clear, defined shadowy stripes, all the way around the ring. Noticeable enough that the comment often made is “oh, nice striped ring”.
I’ve contacted Enso, explaining the issues. Have also read (in hindsight, sigh…) other reviews noting the same issues. Tried to post an honest review of the ring on their website too; however, that was days ago & it’s not there, although other reviews have been posted since. Looks like they’re only posting the positive ones—disappointing that the company seems to go that way.
I will say that they were good on their word to refund the duty charges we were hit with on delivery. And their customer service people have offered to replace the ring, as is their standard policy—but when it was a gift, it just doesn’t seem right to do that. I’m not looking for anything free. I just find it disappointing that this company seems to not be willing to post honest reviews on their products, nor acknowledge that there are issues. Kinda makes me reluctant to purchase from them in the future.

The primer is white, but the colour disappears into your skin. The scent however—strangely citrus-ish—does *not* disappear. It’s strong on application & only fades very slightly on wearing.
I found that it left my skin very tacky feeling—not sticky, exactly, but my fingertips would catch & drag when I tried to stroke my cheek. Okay, thinking maybe I over-applied, I washed/dried my face then tried again with only a tiny bit. Same result, just in a smaller area as it didn’t spread well. I didn’t find that my makeup lasted any longer or looked any fresher, nor was it any worse than when using no primer.
Final thoughts: the Nude by Nature Perfecting Primer isn’t the product for me, YMMV.

I purchased a tube of Maybelline TattooStudio Waterproof Brow Gel with the hope that it would be long lasting, but a bit of skepticism too. I haven’t had much luck with long-lasting brow products (even the “wunder” product that was so pricey & not available around here), but hey, for the price why not give it a go? For reference, I paid about $16 for this at SDM.
First, the product itself—it’s a tube with a small soft applicator tip (more on that in a sec) & includes a little spoolie to get your brows just-so. The product colour range is a bit limited, with just 4 options ranging from blonde to deep brown. Now, I like my brows to be fairly natural looking—they’re just very light & a bit sparse, so here we go with the brow gel. Used the applicator with the lightest of touch to my brows…ummm, no. I couldn’t get anything that didn’t look like I’d used a sharpie to draw my brows on. Okay, wash face, grab small angle brush, use brush to pick up some brow gel from the applicator, apply little feathery strokes…yaaassss! I had brows that looked great, defined but natural looking. A quick brush with the spoolie & off I went for the day.
At the end of the day, my brows were still on point (even after a long snowshoe hike). Washed my face as usual, still had great brows. Woke up the next morning & didn’t have to do anything to my brows, as they looked as good as they had the day before. I got THREE days wear out of this product before it showed any sign of fading.
TL/DR: Awesome brow gel, can vouch that it’s waterproof, sweatproof, sleep proof, wash-your-face proof. The applicator…well, it’s handy for getting the product out of the tube, but I got a much better look using an angle brush.

I was *so* pumped to try this mascara--I'm a self-admitted mascara addict (& I'm good with this, no recovery required thanks). Lash drama = awesomeness. I was told by the person who sold it to me that it would add volume, length, no smudging (raccoon eyes are not my thing), super easy removal. Sold!
UGH!! I'll give it the no smudging claim, BUT it was *so* very wet going on (so blinking before it dried left marks), flaked like crazy after it was dry, & most important to me, did NOTHING for volume/length. A girlfriend at work actually pulled me aside & said she'd never seen me without mascara on. I told her that I had used Blinc--she looked my eyes over, even had me turn to the side, then said, "yeah, no". I thought maybe it was user error--I mean, hey, it's a different kind of product--so I removed it when I got home (with more effort than I expected), let my lashes dry thoroughly then tried again. Same result, total frustration, lackluster lashes. Even my husband noticed that my lashes were wimpy. No bueno.
So sad that I used up so much of a gift certificate I had on this awful product. :(

I received the Schwarzkopf® Root Retoucher™ in Dark Brown from ChickAdvisor to test & share my thoughts on. The product is a spray-in temporary root retouching colour, for settling down those *ahem* silvery bits that keep showing up at my roots. Packaging is pretty much as expected—small, easy-to-hold metal canister with a plastic snap-on cap. The spray nozzle is a bit different in that it has a small tube attached, allowing for precise application to the root areas. I did find that the 2nd day I went back to use the product, that little applicator nozzle was clogged—it worked itself out, but by shooting a couple of chunks of dried colour out of it (did I want that in my hair? Nope!).
The colour applied easily to where I wanted it, but even with a fairly light application seemed to take longer to dry than expected. Oh & keep in mind, you’re spraying a propellant directly onto your hair/scalp, so it’s gonna be COLD for a sec. Grey coverage was pretty good & would likely be even better with building up the application a bit. I did like that it didn’t seem to dry completely flat & dull—it wasn’t shiny, but did have a satiny sheen to it.
Enter the hubby…he knew I was going to play with my hair, but didn’t know *what* I was doing. Looks it over, smiles, says it looks good, runs his fingers through it, yep still soft & touchable. Then, & I quote “Ummmm, wifey, what the heck?!?” His fingertips were covered in brown from the product, & this was over 2 hours after I had applied it. No bueno. Also not good was the amount of product that ended up on my pillowcase—it just seemed that this transferred excessively, even for a temporary product.
Bottom line: Would I purchase this? Maybe, if I needed a quick & easy touch-up for a party or event, but for the normal I-don’t-have-time-for-the-hairdresser days, I’d say nope. YMMV, of course. :)

I got the PREMIER PROTEIN CHOCOLATE SHAKE free as a review product. I'll admit, I was hesitant to try it based on how overwhelmingly sweet the vanilla version had been. I was unable to even finish one carton--it was so sweet it made my stomach hurt. Cloyingly sweet. I gave some to my husband to try as well & he had the same reaction--just too sweet to even drink. If you enjoy *very* sweet drinks, this may be a product for you. -

I got the PREMIER PROTEIN VANILLA SHAKE free as a review product & immediately packed one in my bag to take to work--often, when the day gets really crazy, I end up working through lunch just to find that I have zero energy by mid-afternoon. I popped it open just after the lunch hour & sipped away at it as I worked. The vanilla flavour is very rich--if you like vanilla, this will be your jam--but overall the shake is too sweet for me. It was very filling (even though it says on the package that it's not a meal replacement), & definitely brought my energy levels up to push through the afternoon & on into the evening. -

I've had my Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo for 6 months or so. It's been a good, solid phone--sound quality is pretty good, cameras (both front & rear) take crisp, clear photos, battery life is quite good (especially given all the apps I have running). It charges very quickly using the included charger or my car charger, so even if it gets a bit low, I can top it up with ease. I do wish it had gorilla glass, as I worry about the screen being fragile, but so far, so good~ -
