Hair type: Short, thick, naturally wavy, greying/ageing hair, brunette mixed with a lot of grey, silver and white.
Note: I used this with the matching conditioner.
Since I have so much grey, silver and white in my hair right now, I use blonde shampoos when I want to bring out those colours. What’s interesting about this one is that it makes the grey, silver and white hairs blend into each other, making them look a lot more unified. I think this is because it makes the tone whiter/blonder and helps them look more blended. Since it makes them a little brighter, it also makes them stand out more against my brown hair.
Like many blonde toning shampoos, this is a purple one. It’s a super dark, indigo style purple. The smell of this shampoo is amazing, it’s really fruity and sweet without being overpowering.
In terms of hair quality, my hair was left fluffy and light and nice and soft. I’d definitely use this again.

Since I have so much grey, silver and white in my hair right now, I use blonde products when I want to bring out those colours. What’s interesting about this one is that it makes the grey, silver and white hairs blend into each other, making them look a lot more unified. This is a super dark purple, indigo coloured conditioner. While I loved the smell of the shampoo, I loved the conditioner smell even more. Normally conditioner does not smell so good, but to me this smelled like a Lush bath bomb; heavenly!
My hair was left fluffy and light with a lot of softness. I’d definitely use this again and would recommend it to other white haired folks!

I’m always needing more protein, since I eat so little meat, so every time I see a product like this I get excited. More protein and extra benefits of greens, with a yummy chocolate taste; sign me up! Sadly, it doesn’t deliver on anything other than the nutritional benefits. That’s not to say this product is bad, but just that if you want a product that tastes like chocolate creme, you’ll be unsatisfied here.
The prominent taste here is dirt, with a heavy helping of sweet taste. It’s our old friend Stevia. I’m not a fan of Stevia’s bitter taste, but my far bigger problem with it is that brands overuse it. Stevia is far stronger than sugar, but they heap it in there in an attempt to hide the earthy or green taste and as a result it ends up tasting far too sweet and almost fake (though Stevia is natural). There is a cacao, bitter chocolate taste here, but if you’re looking for a protein powder that doesn’t taste bad, I can’t recommend this one.
It has a lot of benefits sure and it might be a good fit for the kind of person who drinks green smoothies. If you don’t mind an earthy and strong stevia flavour and are willing to drink anything for the benefits, this might be right for you. However, I really require a flavour that I can stand and just didn’t like this one. I will say, to its credit, that when shaken in a protein powder cup, it doesn’t get lumpy, but I just didn’t like the taste.

I really like the deodorant overall, unfortunately I just didn’t love the scent. It has a really sweet, perfumed style cucumber scent that I found too strong. I have a pretty strong nose and would catch the smell whenever I moved my arms, which if you love the scent is a good thing!
In terms of effectiveness, the deodorant did a great job. It kept me dry with no sweat smell, even though it’s close to 30 degrees here right now. It easily lasted until night, which is when I tend to re-apply. The deodorant is soft cream type bar with a bit of a shine, so it glides on super easily. It’s not overly soft (like some), so it doesn’t clump up under my arms.
I also really like the idea of having a deodorant without aluminum, so I hope they bring out some more scents (or even a scent-free one) as I’d consider buying a different scent in the future!

These Battat figures are great value! This time instead of getting fences for the animals, you get a selection of red and green Coral stand-ups and rocks; perfect for that ocean feel! There’s an impressive array of underwater animals here, so a lot of opportunity to teach kids about each species (though it doesn’t list what they are) and to do some underwater projects.
The paint job on these ones is nice and pretty high quality compared to other sets. The open-mouth on some of the whales looks a little cartoony, but it means that they make great bath toys as well, scooping up and dumping the water!
If you’ve used the other Battat sets, you pretty much know what to expect, but the underwater theme is a cool one that most kids don’t learn enough about. In fact, even people know very little about our oceans and seas and these toys are a great start to discussions about conservation, or simply to teach a love of and respect for life on our planet. There’s a good range of sizes here, from larger whales to smaller creatures.
Overall, it’s a great quality and good value set of aquatic themed toys!

My partner works with audio for a living, so I asked him to help me test the audio for this microphone.
Considering the price for this lapel microphone he said this seems like a shockingly good deal. This is your basic lapel microphone with no bells or whistles, but to be honest it does a good job at recording clear audio which is all you really need. The microphone has a small clip which you can attach to your jacket or clothes, and as long as the microphone is pointed in your general direction it will pick up your voice very clearly.
The clip itself is small but strong, and never fell or came loose while I was moving around and testing it out. The sleeve that comes with the microphone does a good job cutting down on background noise from wind and traffic and the 79 inch extension cable is more than enough to allow you to record audio in just about any situation. There's also a travel case to make it easy to take with you (or to throw into your bag without it getting tangled).
My partner and I found that the audio we recorded with this microphone was crisp and clear, and the only thing which sometimes caused problems was when we were recording in as large room, as that gave the audio a slight echo. There's nothing we could expect the microphone to do about that though, especially at this price point.
If you're looking for a basic microphone for school projects, podcasting or recording Youtube videos, this microphone should look professional and sound good. It has an audio jack, so it’s really easy to plug it into your phone for improved sound while video recording!

I recently used a diaper genie for the first time and I can say that there doesn’t seem to be any difference between these refills and the ‘official’ other than the savings on buying these. I wouldn’t be shocked if I peeled the label off and saw the official brand name underneath. They’re that similar.
I worked in QA for years (and have been product testing almost as long) and even looking at the small details like thickness, smell retention and more; these are basically identical. So there’s no reason not to buy these, a brilliant product!

I’ve used a fair few Taotronics humidifiers at this stage and the bigger ones are all pretty similar. They prioritise size and ease of use and are always top quality, this one delivers on that as well. The only real big difference in this one is a subtle and kind of beautiful night light at the bottom. It could be used as a traditional nightlight or a design feature and emits a warm, orange hued glow from the bottom of the humidifier.
Like the other large-scale Taotronics humidifiers, this is the quietest one I’ve used. Apart from a slight burble when water refills to the lower section, it’s almost totally silent, even when turning the mist up high. Speaking of the mist, it’s very forceful on the max setting, you can tell it would be great for a bigger room.
When it comes to tank size, bigger is better as you can refill less often and this is definitely the biggest I’ve seen. Like others this style, it does need to be cleaned with vinegar or bleach over time, but the opening is also big enough to fit a hand in, that’s definitely a bonus!
Two minor nitpicks would be that, again, the yellow sticker is annoying and doesn’t peel off without leaving residue and that the cleaning brush doesn’t have a place here. The other humidifier from this brand had a place in the lower section for the cleaning brush, which was frankly genius, this model lacks that so I’ll definitely lose the brush.
Overall, this is an awesome large-scale humidifier which is super simple to use (just a turn of a dial), with a built in nightlight and a really cool looking black design. It would suit anybody looking for a humidifier that needs to be filled less often with a modern and stand-out style!

I have three cats, two of which struggle with their weight and one who never changes weight regardless of any situation! Since I have two boys (one prone to urinary tract issues), I actually mix this Perfect Weight Food with a vet speciality food for urinary issues. Keep in mind that when changing food initially, you should always switch over slowly. It’s also important to remember that cats shouldn’t lose weight quickly and consult your vet to discuss a good rate to lose, as well as warning signs for when it’s too fast.
This food delivered on it’s promise. My cats had somewhat plateaued in their weight loss, but within a week of starting this food, they are losing a little again. I hope this continues, but for now I’m very happy.
Cats don’t always love diet tasting foods, but my three cats go nuts for this. Whatever it is, they seem to really love the taste as much as their regular food and there’s no hesitation when eating it. Like the other Hill’s bags, this one also has that awesome new ‘velcro’ lock style, so you don’t have to deal with the bag coming open all the time. Brilliant!

These gummies are really delicious, but only when eaten in small amounts. The sheer amount of sugar on each gummy, and the level of sourness, makes it overwhelming very quickly. After just three or four gummies I found my tongue felt strange and my tastebuds were so overloaded I could barely taste anything else. Eating much more than that even made my stomach feel sick, but maybe that's because I haven't binged on candy this sugary since I was a kid. This is definitely one for those who love sour, sugary candy!
Each gummy comes in one of three flavours. My partner enjoyed the green apple + cherry variety the most, as he said it was the least sour, whereas other people in my home found the most sour type (the lemon + strawberry) was their favourite. All of the gummies have a ton of sugar sprinkled on top. I’m not the biggest fan of either sugar or sour in my gummies, but the people in my household who like that style, enjoyed these!
