This is another product I received in my Chickadvisor Shopoholic goodie pack. Although I had a 'lust at first sight' experience with almost all of the products I got, this unfortunately wasn't one of them.
I LOVE the concept Maybelline has come up with - each eyeshadow engraved with the section of your eye its meant to be applied in. For example, the Lavender says "Lid", the Brown says "outer corner", etc. And on the back of the palette is a picture of a lid with each section labeled, and instructions on how to apply for what type of look.
However the colours themselves are more tinted fine sparkles than colours. Because I'm such a Maybeline girl (i adore many of their products, such as Lash Stiletto for everyday-use mascara, ShineSeduction Champagne Fizz, etc), I really cringed to give this eyeshadow palette a "Fugheddaboutit", so to make extra sure, I went and applied it on my lid just now...
You'll notice that I didn't give it a "Fugheddaboutit"... and the reason is, in my opinion each colour of this palette, if used individually, would look awsome on a bright summer day! I love eyeshadow and makeup in general, however the best look for summer days imo is sheer sunkissed peachy type of look. And although I always buy and use very pigmenty eyeshadows, thick pigmented eyeshadows (depending on the colour of course) might look overdone for a summers day. I can totally picture myself wearing any one of these four colours on my lids during summer.... I think these glittery hints of colour will look fabulous when the sun hits it... natural but still a little something something... know what i mean?
This is why I can't give this product a "Fugheddaboutit"... perhaps I won't be using it as the manufacturers meant for us to use it, but I will definately be putting it to good use - my style :)
II would love for Maybelline to come out with the same concept palette, but much more pigmented colour, and less glitters! When all four colours are glittery, its hard to wear them together.
I'm still waiting for companies to catch on and give us mini eyeshadow brushes instead of sponges.... Maybe Maybelline will be the first? ;-)

I received this product in my goodie bag during Shopoholic movie night. Although I am a huge fan of many Maybelline products, including several that were introduced to me via the goodie bag, I'm so sorry to say that this isn't one of them.
Just to make sure that I'm not being too harsh, I actually used this palette on my eye right now... and I'm really sorry to say that this doesn't live up to Maybelline's usual high standards.
This eyeshadow at best gives extremely glittery tints of colour. Its so glittery and light reflecting, that all you see is silver / white glitter on your lids. Even the brown (crease) looks silverish.
I do love the idea of having a trio smokey eye palette with each section labeled (the silver actually says "Lid", brown says "Crease" and beige says "Brow bone"). Hopefully Maybelline will continue this idea but use less glitter and more pigments in their eyeshadows.
However, I can't say that I'll not use this palette at all. I'll put any one of the colour all over the lid for a hint of colour and a glam sparkly look. Or i'll blend some into my eyes to give a glamorous glitter when using my other eyeshadows.

A few days back I'd bought a Lise Watier blush, and I found that although the blush was really good for night wear and parties, it was too shiny for everyday wear. So I wanted something more natural that I could wear everyday. I went out with a fashionista girlfriend of mine and after going through a lot of testers, she convinced me to go for the Quo Soft Spice (it looked the most natural, suited me, didn't dry out my cheeks or make my skin flaky, my cheeks after applying the blush looked just as moisturized as the rest of my face).
I was never one to wear blush everyday.... and I can't honestly say I do now either because I don't even wear makeup everday. But everytime I do wear makeup, I use my Quo blush!! I even wear this at night outs and when going to Parties instead of my Lise Watier (even though Lise Watier cost over 3x the Quo)...!!! This blush goes on light so its very easy to achieve the ideal look simply by building on it. Beacuse of this, even those who are a tad ham fisted when applying makeup but want the natural look, can very easily acheive that with this blush!
I will defniately buy this blush again... In fact the quality of this blush has convinced me to give other Quo products a try as well! I highly recommend this to everyone.

I have bought so many eyeliners, looking for that perfect one... you know, the one that gives the 'liquid eyeliner' look; sleek, a bit glossy, doesn't smudge, etc. I tried everything, from NYC to Lancome, and came across some bad, some good, some so-so's, but not what i was looking for.
Then I went to Shopoholic girls night and got this in my goodie bag. For all of you who look at girls with gorgeous striking eyes - bottom lined lids that look like they've been lined wtih liquid liner, and you wonder how do these girls get liquid eyeliner on their lower lid?? have to try this!! It is a pencil, but gives the liquid eyeliner look if applied with a heavy hand.
Now don't go thinking this eyeliner only looks good on goth looks either! Today I was feeling for the 'girl next door' look (rosy cheeks, maybelline champagne fizz gloss, fresh *flushed* looking makeup/face ..lol) and lids lined very fine with a light hand, so it looks like I have thick lower lashes instead of looking like an actual eyeliner. And guess what? Two of my buddies (guys - VP's who are usually too busy to notice much) actually stopped and complimented me on my look today!! :-)
That I will buy this again goes without saying.. I'm so glad it came in the goodie bag so I got to know what a great product it was!!!

I really don't wear much makeup to begin with, but when I do, I like to achieve the 'flawless' look only pricey high end makeup gives (or so i thought!).
I've had pretty bad experience with drugstore makeup... I won't name names but i've had foundations that make my skin look dirty and wrinkly, lipsticks making my lips peel like mad, mysteriously invisible eyeshadow where you see the colour on the palette, colour's on the brush but no colour on your lids.
Because of these and more issues, I often find that although drugstore brands will save you money on the short term, you'll end up buying more products (to find one that actually works!) and spending more than you needed to had you bought a good one thats a bit pricey to begin with in the long term.
I received this product in the Shopaholic Movie Night goodie bag, so I gave it a try...and kept on using it :) I tried it with primer and the colour does look much richer, however I think I like the non primer look for this shadow. Its such a dark colour, I would think that at the end of the day I'll get beautiful racoon eyes, but thankfully no such thing happened! Although by the end of the day the colour did wear off a bit and wasn't as intense as when I first applied, it was still there, it stayed put and didn't flake onto my cheeks or bleed into the outer corner of my eyes as some eyeshadows that shall remain nameless do.
I also love how I can use a light hand to give a hint of light shimmery lavender or a heavy hand for deep purple look. I can go from day to night with this one colour!
I would definately buy this product, its a great peice for everyday use (and very affordable for everyday use too)!. I can't wait to try out some of the other colours available in this series....I saw a gorgeous green at PharmaPlus the other day! mmmm.....
My only complaint is, had I not received this product in the goodie bag, I would likely never have tried it, and not only would Maybelline miss out on my business, but I'd miss out on this fab product! I've noticed that other drugstore brands such as L'Oreal have testers so the consumers can actually try out the colours before buying them, however I've not seen this for Maybelline products. Perhaps I've just been going to the wrong drugstores, but I thought I'd mention it.
I would love to try more Maybelline products, and I would love to see Maybelline testers so we can actually try the colour before we buy.

I probably was expecting (or hoping for) a different ending, but if it had been, it wouldn't have been as realistic or as good. This movie is going to be in my collection for a very long time coming and I can see this becoming a classic...
Although this is a "chick flick", I would recommend this movie for men and women alike... and can't imagine this movie not being a hit with whoever watches it.

I've watched this movie twice already and loved it both times! The story's ending itself is fantastical, what are the odds of that happening? But the tragic day to day existance of the children, the tragedies, the violence, everything (yes even the spoon thing) is unfortunately very much real in that part of the world.
This movie is an eye opener for a lot of people who live in the lap of luxury and don't know how our brothers and sisters on the other side of the globe are living.
I always thought that this wolrd is overpopulated as it is, instead of having your own, why not adopt a child and bring it up as your own? This movie really reinforced that for me. Who can say after seeing the reality these children live in, that they wouldn't do something to help even one of them?
Its an amazing movie.. a definate must see!! It has romance, action, violence, comedy and reality... something for everyone :)

I have nothing but good to say about this product. Its by far the best electronic I bought..ever! I got the seashell white one (its really pearl rather than white).
The keyboard of this model is very nicely spaced out so your fingers won't overlap and hit other keys as you might expect to when using a netpad. Think of all the functionality of your home PC, but in a unit small and light enough to put in your purse! It has amazing battery life, its a fully functional PC with wired and wireless internet capabilities, just ... SMALL !! I love it. It comes with a very nice sleeve to protect the unit from scratches so you don't have to buy that extra.
My personal computer is also a Laptop (HP) but its a regular laptop and although its one of the new "slim" kinds, imo its still too bulky to carry around. This computer is strong enough to do everything I need it to, and then some!! Not to mention I can slip this into my purse and carry this around whereever I go, browse the internet and come on chickadvisor whenever i want ;-)
Now this is a tiny pc, so yes the keyboard is smaller than what I'm used to, but its very nicely spaced out and the keys are very nicely formed, doesn't overlap at all and when I'm using it, I don't even feel that I'm not typing on my regular keyboard. The screen is also small which might discourage some, but this really is created for its portability, and I don't think its meant to be used as a regular home computer. However, it can easily be connected to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse so it can be used as a home pc if so desired.
The one thing to note however, this laptop does not have any CD ROM drive. But of course an external USB CD ROM / DVD RW whatever drive can be added quite easily, and nowadays the external units aren't very expensive either. It comes with 3 USB slots so you can add whatever USB device you want to it. Here is the list of specifications:

This product is still very new but gaining popularity. I think in the near future Acer will probably add bigger hard drives, as well as more RAM to this unit, and hopefully the price will go down as well. It cost me about $500 (incl tax), and my home laptop (which I got very recently as well) which I got from futureshop cost me a bit over $700, so considering this is much smaller, and not as much RAM, HDD, CPU Power, etc this is quite expensive, however I'm asure as it gains popularity the price will go down. Some might argue that it costs more to build, but as far as I'm aware the Hard drive and RAM used in this unit is the exact same ones used in regular sized laptops, so really it shouldn't cost as much as it does (this model uses a hard drive and not a SD Card which some other models used. I purposely bought this one so if I want I can upgrade the HDD and RAM myself later on).
I would highly recommend this to anyone who has a home PC and is looking for a highly portable laptop. I think this is a must have for all students.
