With the way the political climate is right now in North America, it's important to support our Canadian-made products. I've used honey in a few of my dishes on weekly rotation, but I enjoyed being able to explore the possibilities with a spicy variety!
This time around, I drizzled it on some roasted chickpeas (mixed with other spices) and the addition of something sweet and spicy was absolutely delicious. My husband and I also have a soft spot for Pizza Nova's honey stinger pizza... So when it was time to make a frozen pizza, we drizzled this ontop and it tasted JUST like takeout!
Halifax's Hot Honey is meant to enhance rather than overpower your dish with its subtle heat. Its ingredient list is short and sweet too: wildflower honey, chillies and vinegar...that's IT! They have several finger-licking-good recipes on their website and is available for about $18 at your local Sobeys.

This morning’s sweet treat is brought to you by Enso, a local company who prides themselves on good, simple ingredients that pack a punch. 🙌🏼 If this almond brittle is any indication of this Markham-based company’s quality, I cannot WAIT to get my hands on some more of their products! 🤩
The brittle’s ingredients were short and simple: almonds, cream, sugar, butter, glucose and sea salt- thats IT! The result is a tasty, crunchy, chocolatey brittle with a delicious caramel base that is absolutely delectable.

My husband and I used these gloves when we BBQ’d outdoors and they worked great to keep his hands protected. I brought them indoors and tried them out while handling hot pans and while they worked as designed, I thought they were on the big side for my hands. But since they are a one-size-fits-all glove, Im not too surprised. Otherwise, a great addition to our BBQ gear!

Having a pair of kitchen shears is a no brainer: you can use to break down raw meat, quickly divy up cooked meat (think ribs) and quickly cut spices (green onions, dill, etc) directly into your cooking pot or pan. I typically use mine the most when breaking down whole chickens, so I was more than happy to test out Brander's Butcher Shears from our closest Barbecue Galore.
Although I had high hopes for these shears, I admittedly was left a bit disappointed. Although they felt super sturdy and robust, my hand was hurting after the third cut through some raw chicken. Because the handle was squared off instead of completely rounded, the edges easily bit into your hand. While this design choice made them harder to slide off your hand (important when youre dealing with slick raw meat) it quickly became really uncomfortable.
Having said that, they were super sharp and washed really well. If you have tough hands, these $15 butcher shears do the job just fine, but I personally would need something with smoother handles.

The round tin feels luxurious and sweeping up the cream from the tin provides a different kind of experience versus squeezing it out of a plastic tube. It has a subtle scent that lingers on your skin and doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy in the slightest.
The one thing I dont like: the packaging, specifically the plastic insert. Their reasoning is sustainability: with less tin being thrown out, the product is more ecofriendly. However, the refills are made of plastic so although the company may be saving tins from ending up in the landfills, the plastic will definitely end up in the trash. A better option would be to offer in-store refills at a lower price.

When it comes to scent, everyone's preference is different: are you a soft, "fresh laundry" kind of girlie? Or do you prefer something fruity and zesty? Personally, I enjoy scents that are a bit woodsy with hints of amber, but I'm also very partial to scents that evoke a sweetness like vanilla and caramel.
The closest I can come to describe Clean Reserve's Whipped Cherry scent is if Bath and Body Works' "Warm Vanilla Sugar" and the cult classic "Japanese Cherry Blossom" had a love child. Its very warm but also smells of sweet cherry, evoking feelings of the sights and smells of when Spring turns into Summer.
This particular sample came in a rollerball, which is arguably not my favourite method, as I much prefer perfumes in spray format. However, I absolutely loved the scent and I found it lasted longer than other samples I've tried. I've tested Clean Reserve's Brilliant Peony about a year ago and I admit that this one smells even better! If I saw this brand on a shelf, I'd definitely test out their other scents because they do not disappoint!

I mostly used its sister product, the one specifically designed to prevent future breakouts. This particular product was created to target active breakouts and stop them in their tracks. If its effectives is anything like the rest of Oxy's lineup, I will definitely keep it in my back pocket as an emergency product in case I need it. I'd happily recommend this entire line to anyone who is looking for a new skin care routine that sooths irritated skin while also combating against breakouts! -

Out of the four products I received, my favourite is their triple action daily facial cleaner which aims to prevent future breakouts and soothes irritated skin. It contains green tea and chamomile, both known ingredients to reduce inflammation. It also contains small traces of salicylic acid to keep those pimples away, which has personally worked wonders for me. I enjoyed its subtle fresh scent and felt it cleaned out my pores and left my skin feeling super fresh. -

Out of the four products that I received, these soothing cleaning pads came a very close 2nd place as a favourite! Unlike its sister product (which treats active breakouts), this one keeping your skin clear to prevent future breakouts. I found them to be equal parts exfoliating and refreshing without being super abrasive. I do wish it came in a liquid-only format though, as I did find the 90 pads to be a little bit on the wasteful side. But the product itself was wonderful. -
