I bought this product after reading a few reviews where users claimed it helped control their oily skin. I have really oily skin, get hormonal breakouts on my period, and have enlarged pores on my cheeks that often fill with sebum. You will not notice a miracle overnight, but after a few weeks of diligent use in the morning and evening, you will notice a difference in the overall appearance of your skin. It has reduced the size of my pores (which is significantly reducing the amount of sebum that builds in them), has reduced some of the oiliness that is produced throughout the day (not entirely though, it won't change the fact that I have oily skin. But it it helps my makeup stay on a little longer now and has drastically decreased my acne and I didn't even break out at all during my last period), and has significantly improved the texture of my skin. There wasn't really any purging in the first week of use; maybe a few whiteheads here and there but nothing major. After a month of use I'm almost ready to start going in public without foundation on which is a huge improvement as I've always been extremely self conscious of my appearance. I would definitely purchase this again and again because it's helped me gain some self confidence with my appearance. -

I received a sample packet of this in the mail and tried it for a few days. I'm not a fan of lavender, but depending on how strong of a scent it has there are some lavender products I can tolerate. This smells so strongly of lavender I couldn't stand it. It also didn't fully absorb into the skin. 30 mins later and my face still felt like it had a layer of the stuff on it and felt tacky/sticky to touch. I could ignore the scent if it was an effective product but it's too thick for my liking. -

My old Keurig finally decided to kick the bucket after 7 years. So I got this one to replace it in Oasis turquoise and it's so cute! It's a little less heavy than my old one and an inch more narrow which means I save a little more space in my small kitchen. I like that it has an extra cup size compared to my old model and has a "strong" brew option as well. I like that there's also an 'auto-off' function that shuts the machine off after 2 hours of being on. Sometimes in the evening I turn on the machine with the intent of making tea but then I forget that I wanted tea, and the machine stays on. Now when I forget, the machine will turn off on its own. -

I don’t know if it was the colour I chose or if it’s the natural chemistry of my hair, but the product didn’t take. My hair is dirty blonde with some red undertones and I wanted to go to light blonde. And compared to the box, my hair was the same colour as the “before” example in the picture but it did not give me the expected result shown for “after”. My hair is now just a hardly noticeable shade lighter. Wouldn’t repurchase. Maybe the product would have taken if I’d gone darker, but for going lighter I wouldn’t recommend this dye. -

I can confirm that this is a very good waterproof mascara. Broke down crying at work today several times and it didn’t budge. Can be a little difficult to remove at the end of the day because of how effective it is, so invest in a good makeup remover. The Super Sizer mascara that I love as my go to but with a perfected waterproof formula. -

I had high hopes for this primer because I'd seen many reviews from people with oily skin saying that they loved this product. Unfortunately, it didn't wow me as as much as it did for them. It doesn't do a great job at reducing the look of pores or getting rid of shine. Sure, it looks very matte when being applied. But within a few hours I become extremely shiny and need to blot. I've also tried applying my foundation with a sponge and a brush to see if application played a part in length of wear with no differing results. You definitely need to set your foundation with either powder or setting spray so that it doesn't cause it to slide off your face. But if all the appropriate steps are followed, it has a decent length in wear without making my makeup look splotchy at the end of the day. Price-wise, it's also fairly budget friendly at $10 CAD at Shoppers Drugmart. For now, I think it is a decent fall/winter primer for me. However, come summer I'll need a more efficient primer to keep my makeup on during the humid summer heat. -

Unfortunately, I returned this product after trying it out. I don’t typically have sensitive skin, but geez this product made my face burn. And not like in a tingly menthol way, but like it didn’t agree with my skin. It took several minutes for my face to stop stinging after rinsing. I’ve read several reviews where people have said the same thing. I LOVE Bioré products though, and haven’t had an issue with any of their products until I tried this one. Wouldn’t recommend this particular cleanser to anyone with sensitive skin. -

I do nail art on my natural nails, which I grow quite long. So when I break a nail on my picture hand it’s like my life is over- I have to put nail art on pause for like a month when the nail grows out or file them all down to a short length to match. So when I broke my nail to the nub I was furious. But then I remembered the Jenna Marbles video where she does acrylic nails with ramen noodles that I watched the day before. And I’m like heck, if Jenna can do a half decent job with ramen noodles, then maybe I can save this nail. So I found this set at Walmart for $15 CAD. Works very well and the instructions are mostly clear. You may want a better buffer from Sally Beauty though, and maybe a good base coat. I watched a few tutorials before I began and did a fairly decent job on my first go. There’s no instructions on how to clean the brush though! I Googled it and ended up just letting it soak in acetone for awhile. Also, the bonding liquid REEKS. Oh boy, crack a window, turn on some fans, and light a candle. To be honest, I couldn’t smell it after 10 minutes but my fiancé freaked out and started febreezing the whole house and started lighting my candles because he hated it so much. If you’re used to going to the salon you’ll already be used to the smell though. -

For the price, this product isn't that bad. I used to only ever use UD's primer but that got a little pricy. You'd think that the product may be too dark/pigmented but it blends out quite well on my fair skin and hides any veins and discolouration without looking like it's too dark for my skin tone. Eyeshadows applies nice and pigmented, and as with any primer I use there is a little bit of creasing after 8-9 hours (but I have oily skin and no matter what I do with any product, it will always settle into my deep creases). Overall I think I'll start purchasing this product as a cheaper substitution for the UD primer. -

I was sent this mask free to review from Chick Advisor. It retails at about $13 CAD and is supposed to be ideal for people with oily skin. I've tried the product a couple times now, and I can't say I'm 'wowed' by it. It's honestly quite average in comparison to the other drugstore peel off masks that I've tried by other brands (ie. Bioré, Neutrogena, etc). I didn't find that it did the best job at mattifying my face or clearing my oily T-zone. My face felt clean and a little moisturized after, and I'm more used to peel off masks that target oily skin leaving my face a little dryer.
It applies easily and even though it's blue when it comes out of the bottle, it goes on quite sheer. It's very tacky/gooey and a little difficult to wash from your hands when it's still wet. Peeling it off is easy-ish. You have to use a thick even layer otherwise you will have a hard time peeling it off in one try. Because it dries very thin, you'll have to kind of pick at an edge or rub it a little create a part that you can start peeling from. It wasn't painful to peel off, but you definitely don't want to get it near your hairline (which can be difficult to manage because it's sheer while applying, so you can't always tell how close you've gotten it to your eyebrows, and can be difficult to remove).
Not the best peel off mask I've used, but not the worst. Kind of a meh product, and I probably wouldn't purchase it myself.
