I went to a local artisan jewelry trade show in Vancouver and came across the Lucky Troll. I was so impressed by their pieces that it made it hard to decide what to get! In the end I purchased the necklace above because I thought it was cute and neat! The necklace is a chain with charms at either end and it put on my simply creating a knot by tying the chain above the charms at whatever length you prefer! It looks very cute on and I have already received numerous compliments on it. The Lucky Troll has an online store on etsy.com and can be found st www.LuckyTroll.Etsy.com

This mascara was exactly what I expected, the pulse did help distribute the mascara to my finer shorter lashes. I expected it to be louder than it was and I was pleasantly surprised that you really couldn't hear it while it was on. As some of the other reviewers, it did take practice to hold down the button and apply the mascara at the same time but it was nothing that I could not handle. Perhaps they could make a setting where the button holds down automatically if you press it twice or something to alleviate this problem. Otherwise though this product works well and I would buy it again.    -

I love COWS in Whistler...they have great ice cream and t shirts with fun slogans on it for sale. COWS began making ice cream in 1983 in PEI. Despite the growth that COWS has experienced, the same old-fashioned ingredients are still used today when making the 32 flavors that are produced by COWS Inc. in Charlottetown. Each COWS ice cream is served in a hand made waffle cone, created one at a time, right at the counter. A couple years later COWS introduced a fun assortment of clothing for its staff to wear which quickly gained popularity so they started to see the clothing to the public. I normally go the cows for their ice cream but if I am looking for a gift T for a friend's daughter or son, this place is a fun place to check out as well. COWS is also located in PEI, Halifax, Banff and Niagara-on-the-lake. Check it out, their ice cream is AMAZING!

Opus Bar is located at 350 Davie Street in the popular area of Yaletown, Vancouver. Opus is a chic ‘see-and-be-seen’ lounge and was voted by Zagat as being one of Vancouver's top lounge experiences. A careful blend of well thought out lighting, chic furniture and shimmer screens set the mood for its sophisticated and style-savvy crowd. There is also a live DJ playing the latest in music. The glass walled bathrooms also provide a live feed of the action going on in the lounge. The night that our group was there, we had a phenomenal server in a private room. She was attentive and friendly and I will go back to Opus because I had such a great experience there. If you are ever in the Yaletown area, check this place out!

When I moved out to BC I started to look for a pole dancing studio that I could go to in the Whistler area. I found Poleworks online and have since attended classes with Poleworks. Shannon is the owner and primary teacher with Poleworks and teaches classes out of the Meadow Park Sports Centre. She also conducts stagettes on a regular basis. I attended one of those stagettes and was very impressed with how 'at ease' Shannon made the participants in the class. The girls were having fun and learning spins, walks and moves at the same time. Classes are for women only.

Poleworks combines the classic polework, dance and floor moves of exotic dancing with a focus on stretching and strengthening your body. Along with your favorite music and your very own unique style you are sure to uncover a new you.

As an added touch, the bride-to-be will get a CD of the music they leave pole dancing to. Blankets are also provided during the class so your knees get minimal bruising.

I would highly suggest trying a PoleWorks class if you are ever in the Whistler area.

When I have put this product in my hair after straightening it, people have commented and asked why my hair looks so healthy. In terms of cost, I think it is a lot less that you would pay for higher end salon products and the results look the same.    -

I recently bought a leather cuff bracelette that was made by Catalyst Reaction leather goods. Kate Falkenberg and Kat Bachmeier grew up in Alberta and now call Vancouver home. Catalyst belts are their signature item. They cost approx $70 each and are meant to be worn with designer denim, the belts really stand out and look original since no two of their belts are exactly the same. Their leather belts and cuffs are available at various boutique stores in Canada. I bought mine at Agnes Jean in Squamish, BC. Catalyst products are treated with eco-friendly enzymes father than tannins and their website is hosted by Ethical Hosting which is a server that is powered by carbon credits by wind!
