Warmer weather is bringing my only downside to summer: mosquitoes and their terrible bites! I was really eager to try Sarna’s bug bite patches to help ease the itch. I have such a problem with scratching my bites until I make myself bleed! The first bonus these patches have brought me is that they prevent me from being able to pick at them like that, allowing my bites to heal a lot better and faster. The second is that they contain soothing ingredients such as chamomile and aloe which bring an immediate sense of relief to the uncomfortable bites. The product comes in small sheets of patches that you can just peel off from like a sticker, making it super easy to throw in a backpack or pocket for hikes and other outdoor activities. I love that these contain squalane, an ingredient that comes from our skin’s natural oils, and multiple types of ceramides to really lock that moisture in. I find the colour to be easily buildable, so I can go over my lips in multiple layers when I want a stronger look. Shade 44 is very light and a true baby soft pink. This is close to my natural lip shade, so it’s great when I want a subtle look; it adds a beautiful shine and the smallest improvement of your lip colour that will have people thinking you were born with the prettiest pink lips! I think, as a nighttime moisturizer, this is more suited for someone with oily skin. As someone with dry skin, I prefer to use it as a hydrating layer in the daytime, and then at night I switch to a heavier moisturizing lotion. It definitely does not feel heavy on the face at all, and I haven’t had any problems with clogged pores while using this. It absorbs quickly into the skin which is always nice! I love that it’s a minimal ingredient list and there’s no unnecessary added fragrance. Overall, it’s a nice moisturizer, but definitely more intended for oily skin.

This is a really great exfoliant! It’s so satisfying to swipe away my dead skin cells with this on a cotton pad. The ingredients in it make my skin very happy; there’s no added fragrance, no drying alcohols, and no fungal acne triggers. The salicylic acid in it has been helping clear out my face, and the chamomile flower extract in it has been keeping my skin soothed. I love an exfoliant that can do its job without irritating my skin, and this fits that bill for sure!

This moisturizer has a grainy texture I don’t love when I squeeze it out, but it still blends into the skin nicely without leaving a noticeable white cast on my face. It doesn’t feel oily or heavy whatsoever! I have no trouble with applying foundation and other makeup on top of it. There is no added fragrance which is always appreciated as someone with skin who can get irritated from that. Overall, it’s a great sunscreen option that’s nicely lightweight!

I love the texture of this cleanser! It’s creamy and a little thick, similar to how a moisturizing lotion feels. I was a little nervous it would be overly stripping on my dry skin since it’s an acne wash, but my face actually didn’t feel dried out at all after using it! I really do feel like the benzoyl peroxide in it is helping to keep my skin clear of acne. When I use it, I like to leave it on for a few minutes before completely rinsing it off, just to give that active ingredient some time to work on my skin first. Overall, I really love the way it targets breakouts without drying the skin out. I also appreciate it not having added fragrance in the ingredients; that really helps stop my skin from getting irritated!

McCafe’s Premium Instant Coffee is a new favourite addition to my morning ritual. Something I love about it being instant coffee is how easy and affordable it is to prepare a cup; you just need boiling water, no expensive coffee machine needed! The taste of it is bold and a little woodsy. Sometimes a dark roast coffee can lean towards burnt tasting to me, but I don’t get that charred flavour with this one at all. I received this mascara for free in exchange for an honest review. The YSL Lash Clash has become an immediate favourite for me! My lashes are naturally light and quite straight, to the point where they almost feel invisible; but as soon as I apply this, it’s like my entire face has opened up. It makes my eyelashes look super thick without looking weighed down. Something in particular I noticed this mascara does better than my other mascaras is holding the curl. Sometimes applying mascara seems to just flatten my lashes out more, but applying this one makes them look extra lifted and super curled. I haven’t had any problems with clumping, nor have I had any smudging or fallout while wearing it throughout the day. I’ve been looking for a holy grail mascara for quite some time now, and this one fits that bill for sure! -

I love when something is both delicious and good for me! Sambucol’s Black Elderberry Drink Powder contains, as its name suggests, elderberry. Elderberries are a healthy plant that are packed with antioxidants and vitamins that could potentially boost your immune system and relieve stress. The drink powder also contains Vitamin C, which is important to your health. It’s known to help maintain bones and muscles as well as support a healthy immune system. These two ingredients put together really make me feel like I’m fighting off any cold that tries to come my way! Taste-wise, it reminds me of strawberry punch; it’s super sweet and refreshing. I also like that the ingredient list is short and to-the-point. I just toss the packet mix into a glass of water and it dissolves super quickly, allowing me to hydrate fast. I’m giving it 4/5 stars because I do think a gummy or pill vitamin form is a more convenient option if you’re looking to add some extra vitamin C or elderberries to your system, however, this is a great option for when you’re craving something sweet to drink with the bonus of immune system support!
