I am a strictly gel and serum user at night on my skin - so I really wasn't to keen on trying an oil - because oils are oily right?!!! I was pleasantly surprised that the Lipidol Overnight Face Oil was actually fairly quickly absorbed. My skin felt moisturized but not extremely overly so. I think it was a tad heavy for my moisturizing needs - but I also think this is a fabulous product for dry winter skin. Also I had no issues with breakouts or clogged pores. I really like the fact that Lipidol uses minimal packaging too and it all can be re-used or re-cycled - it gets a thumbs up from me! -

As a girl who uses Citrus Oil Free Cleansing Wipes and Micellar Water as part of her regular routine - I was a little hesitant to try Cleansing Oils. The Lipidol Cleansing Face Oil is lightly scented - which I like. I found that you didn't need a whole lot of product to get a good bit of cleanser to massage into your skin. My skin did feel extremely clean after rinsing and not "tight" like what can happen when you use soap! I didn't experience any oiliness - just beautiful clean skin! I would definitely recommend giving Lipidol a go! -

I love discovering new Made in Canada Beauty Products and Flow RadiantARMOUR Heat Protect Spray is one of my new loves. It is very prettily scented and very weightless, providing thermal protection against my styling tools without being greasy. It also adds smoothness and shine too! Sustainably manufactured right here in Canada and is sulfate and paraben free. I am really looking forward to trying more of this line. Available at Salons only at the moment. -

I think the Brookside Dark Chocolate Fruit and Nut Bar with Cranberry and Blackberry was my second most favourite out of the 3 I was lucky enough to try through the Product Review Club! I found I really like the texture and it wasn't too hard - even with all the nuts. Not low in calories - but a good solid protein source, good for energy and great for snacks and lunches! The cranberries and blackberries added a really nice texture and sweetness to this bar. Will be buying more for sure. -

I think the Brookside Dark Chocolate Fruit and Nut Bar Cherry with Pomegranate was probably my least favourite out of the 3 I was lucky enough to try through the Product Review Club! Only because I really don't like Cherries! Other than the cherries (lol) I really like the texture and it wasn't too hard - even with all the nuts. Not low in calories - but a good solid protein source and great for snacks and lunches! Also travels well in lunch boxes and briefcases! -

This week I bought a bottle of No. 99 Wayne Gretzky 2014 Okanagan Merlot. I am a BC girl at heart and love trying new British Columbia wines each week (I know good excuse - lol!) This Merlot was nice and fruity although I found it a tad heavy for me. Priced on sale at just under $20 per bottle it's a great value and I think would pair really well with a beef entree rather than on it's own. As an added side note - a percentage of each bottle's sale goes to the Wayne Gretzky Foundation for kids which supports sports for kids in Canada - a win win! -

Found the Shopper's Drugmart Quo Brand Brush Cleaning Wipes on sale the other day and gave them a go. I found that they worked OK - not as good as an actual wash with cleanser cleaning of course - but pretty great for a quick clean when you don't want to spend a whole lot of time waiting for brushes to dry. (They did dry really fast!) A 20 pack was on sale for $5.99 which is a pretty good value overall too. -

Hy's Steakhouse in Calgary - Can I just say yum???!! Located in The CORE Shopping area of downtown (8th Ave and 3rd St. Not to be confused with the "old" original Hy's Steakhouse - same chain - but it disappeared for a few years in Calgary. Think The Keg - only a much nicer atmosphere and better service. (And you might want to add a few zero's on your bill too - but so worth it!) I have been here for both lunch and dinner. Divine service and a fabulous assortment of traditional steakhouse entrees as well as some unusual and daily offerings too. Their wine menu is brilliant and well rounded - with great variety and a price point for everyone. Highly recommended if you're in YYC! -
