Hey Takoda!!!

I'm a bit late replying- sorry about that! I was going to reply and tell you that it was a gorgeous day out there at the very least but I just looked out and it is yet again, raining!!! Oh well.

Anyway, I was looking at that mask- it seems like a good buy! I know that you had mentioned problems with pores and foundation as well so maybe this would help in that area too. It is a little more- but maybe as a one time treat? Also- looking at the ingredients it seems more drying so you'd probably only use it once in a while and just a little bit so it would last longer. The good news is that since it is on well.ca it is probably a bit less than it would be in stores and free shipping too I think!

Hey you!

Have you been to your doctor yet about getting your monthly friend 3 times a month? Make sure you're hydrated and take in iron supplement since it seems like you're losing more blood than usual. And if you haven't already, go to the doctor so you can find out what's wrong. Worrying about it will just cause more stress and anxiety. I hope your husband will lessen on the gambling as well. Addiction is such a big problem and it's really hard to stop so even if he wants to stop, it might be really hard and will take time. Gambling affects the same parts of the brain as having a drug addiction (ie, dopamine). Just focus on you and maybe do activities that will relaxes you, like yoga if you can ( I know you told me it's hard to move sometimes). It's getting really really cold now so I hope you're staying warm. How's Takoda btw?

Hi Takoda!

How's it going? I love your comment about how dry skin is good against aging :D. As for acne, I have not contacted the website yet. I keep forgetting to! I guess this is a sign of aging lol. I did however go to Shoppers Drug Mart and got a little tube of this acne treatment from Clearasil. Surprisingly it works! But I swear my skin is like yours. It works fine at first but it stops being effective after a while when my skin builds a tolerance against it. Do you still use the witch hazel? The witch hazel doesn't get rid of acne for me but I think it's the best toner though just because if you look at the ingredient, the alcohol level is really weak or non-existent. That's great for us because it doesn't dry up our skin like some of the other toners out there.

Anyways, I'll stop rambling for now!

Hey Takoda!

I totally didn't see your earlier message about adding items to review! I'm so careless sometimes so I apologize for that! Sometimes the picture is quite hard to find. Instead of going on their website, I just type it in google under images and see what comes up because that has always worked for me. As for the website, just try your best to find it. If you can't I say you should send an email to Alexandra and she can add it in for you. I believe her email is [email protected]. If it's not, she'll probably see this and correct me :)

Take care! And yea the drying mask is helpful but my skin is combination skin so I can't use anything that's too dry or else my face will be flaky lol. That sounds gross but keep me updated on what's working for you!

I have heard of that drying mask- they've all been good things too! I think it's more of a personal thing but I like masks with benonite better than kaolin but kaolin clay is still very good.

I've heard sometimes too (and I think it is true for me) that your skin gets used to certain items or products and once in a while it is good to change it up. I know for me if I keep using the same cleansers over and over again, I find it doesn't work as well after a while. So maybe it is just time to switch it up?

Hope you had a good weekend!

Hey Takoda,

So this is a review for the mask I am using right now- http://www.chickadvisor.com/item/stives-mineral-clay-firming-mask/

It is made of kaolin clay but I've always found benonite much better. Benonite is the key ingredient in these masks so if you are at the drug store or in a beauty supply store, just be sure to read the ingredient list. Also- there is a really good michelle phan video where she does a kitty litter face mask- http://www.chickadvisor.com/video/kitty-litter-face-mask-with-michelle-phan/. Kitty Litter contains the same ingredient as most masks! (Don't knock it til you try it!)

Sugar is great if you want to make this an exfoliating scrub instead of a mask. As far as I know, sugar doesn't have any skin health properties beyond being a grain to rub off dead skin, so just putting it on your face and letting it sit won't do much to improve complexion.

I have heard people talk about different sugars, but the main recommendation is plain ol' white table sugar. Cheapest and most effective!

I'm going to "creep" too :) Try a honey mask - just plain old honey off the grocery shelf smeared over your face, let sit for 15-ish minutes and then rinse off. Honey has natural antimicrobial properties and is amazing for any skin type. I think the only concern would be for people who have allergies to honey.

It's a little gentler so might not nuke flare ups but is amazing for maintenance, and no worries when it gets on your lips! It also makes no difference if you use expensive organic honey or discount honey, liquid or creamed.

Hey Takoda,

I saw the convo regarding facial cleansers and such between you and Tammy and sorry to creep but I thought I would share what really worked for me. I am an avid mask user- I wear face masks overnight and I have been doing this for two years now and nothing has worked like it.

The trick is to use a bentonite mask- that's the drying ingredient. They also make kaolin clay masks but I have found bentonite to work best (that's just for me though!) I suggest first following the instructions on the product but personally, I just dab on problem areas and keep on overnight. It doesn't prevent very well, but it does treat. Just be sure that you are moisturizing as well because they are very drying.

Good luck and I hope it works out! xoxo

Hey Takoda, I'm back in school now as you might noticed and I'm doing okay. School is just starting back up again so I'm not that busy yet. October is when I will have all my midterms so I still have time to check out chickadvisor. How have you been? Thanks for the update on the witch hazel. I continue to use it, but like I said before, I haven't seen much of a difference even at the beginning and I still don't see a lot of difference now whatsoever. What's different is that my acne has gotten worse and I am not exaggerating! I got this little tube of clearasil because I've read some positive reviews on it but it's not working for me either.

Also, the website has not sent me anything so I will take your suggestion and try to email them about it. I'll keep you up to date on that. If you got any other advice for acne let me know :D

Take care!!!
