10 Ways To Wear Glitter This Season - Comment To Win!

I don't know about you, but for me, 2011 was the year of glitter! We saw glitter everywhere this year, in everything from sequined tanks and blazers to sparkly baubles to rhinestoned nails. I even took it upon myself to DIY glitterfy a pair of old heels! I don't doubt that glitter will still be popular come 2012 and it's definitely a trend for this holiday season, but we don't think we should limit glitter to just one area, so here are 10 ways you can rock the glitz...please just don't rock them all that once. That might be a bit much.

1.Eyes, 2.Lips and 3.Nails
You may be tempted to shy away from bold colours and intense pigments here, but I say, go big or go home! Be wary of body glitters though (too Spice Girls circa 1997) and wearing more than one of these at the same time- if you go for a glitter lip, do a matte eye and vice versa.

1. Lime Crime Magic Dust Eyeshadow in Diva (US$14.00)
2. Glitter Nail Polish in Supernova (C$9.00)
3. Essie Nail Polish in Gold Nuggest (US$8.00)
Combine 4. POP Glitter Must-Have Kit (US$15.00) with a matte lipstick like 5. MAC Mattene Lipstick in Eden Rouge (C$17.50) for a wearable sparkly lip, check it out here.

4.Shoes and 5.Purses
Be the envy of all the glitter jealous girls with a pair of stand out heels or an eye catching purse. Don't limit yourself with the type of sparkle either, go for sequins, rhinestones or beads for something different!

1. Asos Glitter Flip Lock Cross Body Bag (US$27.27)
2. Top Choice Sequin Clutch (C$21.65)
3. Banana Republic Jeweled Envelope Clutch (C$124.00)
4. Nine West Nathania Heels (C$130.00)5. Bebe Omega Glitter Wedges (US$114.99)
6. Aldo Durling High Heel (C$100.00)

6.Necklaces, 7.Rings, 8.Hair Accessories
Wear a statement necklace, large cocktail ring or a little something extra in your eye for visual interest. It adds a unique style to what might otherwise be a basic outfit.

1. Aldo Turntine Necklace (C$20.00)
2. Full Tilt 2 Piece Glitter Bow Barrettes (C$5.94)
3. Rachel Roy Glitter Owl Ring (C$48.00)

4. Mod Cloth String of Sparklers Headband (US$19.99)

9.Dresses and Skirts, 10.Tops
Of course, we've talked enough about how fabulous a sequined dress it, but why not try some glitter in a metallic skirt too? An embellished tank is a fabulous option as it can be dressed up or down and for a piece that is sure to get attention, try a sequined blazer.

1. NastyGal Dusted Sequin Blazer (US$138.00)
2. Wilfred Barbizon Dress (C$215.00)
3. TopShop Black Embellished Cami (C$66.00)
4. Gap Metallic Mini Skirt (C$69.95)

I bought myself a pair of cheap and ridiculously high wedges black wedges, covered them in PVA glue, put newspaper underneath and unnleashed the glitter! Spent atleast an hour sprinkling all different colour glitter on them. Now when i go out people expect them to have been well over £100 but they were £15. My glitter secret haha!

I was just gifted this GORGEOUS black bag studded with black rhinestones and sequins... It's black on black, but it's anything but traditional. I would wear that with slim fit jeans, a top and blazer, and one of my new heels I told you ladies about. Red lipstick, understated eyes & cheeks (like the look CA did recently) would be perfect. It's classy and safe but with eye catchers like my glitter bag and red lips.
