16 Cleansing Products To Help Switch Up Your Skincare Routine

Posted by Alexandra C. | Tuesday August 27, 201311 comments

My skincare routine had gotten a little boring. I mean, cleanser after cleanser and none of it was doing anything for me? Boo. Something had to be switched up.

I've been using foaming cleanser for pretty much my entire teen/adult life. Basically since I started a skincare regimen, and pretty much the only thing I'm used to. When this started turning sour for me, I reached for something new and different: oil cleansers.

Since then, I've been switching it up and trying and testing out new ways to cleanse. I find that experimentation is the key. You never know what works until you try it, right? With fall nearly upon us, and another school year starting, I thought I would extend this challenge to you. Switch up your skincare routine this year starting with your cleanser!

I'm here to help you get started! Here are 16 cool, innovative, new and different ways to celanse that pretty face of yours:

1. No7 Beautiful Skin Melting Gel Cleanser (C$13.00, exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart): This cleanser goes from gel to a non drying oil formula. It then changes into a light milk formula for easier rinsing.

2. No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Water (C$13.00, exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart): I've been using cleansing waters to remove all the dirt and makeup from my face at night before trying a detoxifying mask.

3. No7 Total Renewal Micro-Dermabrasion Exfoliator (C$19.00, exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart)
4. Murad Renewing Cleansing Oil (C$32.00)

5. Olay Pro-X Microdermabrasion + Advanced Cleansing System (C$46.99): This system offers two professional treatments in one.

1. Soap & Glory Scrub Your Nose In It Face Scrub + Mask (C$18.00, exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart)

2. Yes To Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub (C$11.99, available September 2013 exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart)

3. Pure + simple - Organic Vanilla Cleansing Powder (C$24.95): Mix this powder with water or a cleanser. Can be used to exfoliate or as a mask.

4. Shiseido Ibuki Purifying Cleanser (C$30.00) + Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate (C$24.00, both available October 2013): Use the softening concentrate after your cleanser and before a moisturizer to help the skin absorb product. Think of your face like a sponge!

5. Konjac Sponges (C$10.00)Konjac is a moisture-rich plant fibre that is by nature alkaline. Konjac balances the acidity of the skin and gently removes impurities while massaging and stimulating blood flow.

6. Simple Eye Make-Up Remover Pads  (C$7.99-$10.99)

1. Pure+simple - Sensitive Skin Cleansing Milk (C$21.95)

2. The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil (C$16.00)

3. Etival Defi-Age Cleansing Cloths (C$10.00)
4. Etival Ener-C Gel Cleanser with Vitamin C Ester (C$18.00)

5. The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Balm (C$16.00): This cleanser is an indulgent make-up remover for the whole face. It gently and efficiently melts away make-up and impurities, leaving the skin feeling clean, refreshed and pampered.

The moisturizer is good. It doesn't make my face itchy like a lot of products do.

I haven't tried any of these products but I love the Vichy cleansing water, easy and fast!

The Simple Makeup Wipes are the best. I've tried nearly a dozen brands, and they still come out on top, even though they're pretty cheap. I'm interested in trying the Yes to Grapefruit products. Yes to Cucumbers makes some of my favorite things, but Yes to Blueberries was kind of a disappointment.

These all look like wonderful products to try, I love pink grapefruit products and I am using one by Neutrogena right now, the pink grapefruit product on this list definitely looks like something I would like to try.

I think so far the best thing I have done to switch up my cleansing routine this year is using the clarisonic mia. It cleans my skin better and better helps me to absorb the products I use on my skin.

Interesting! I'd really like to try the No 7 items as well, and I've always loved Soap & Glory products, just not their pricing.

I try so many that I couldn't name all of them. The Soap & Glory mask looks like a good one for me to try next. I've also been thinking about picking up the Olay Pro-X Microdermabrasion Advanced Cleansing System, but I already have their other power brush. There's just to many goodies out there and never enough money to try all of them.LOL
