Hair Transformation: A Twist on the Ponytail

Posted by ChickAdvisor Team | Monday August 1, 201124 comments
Whether you hit snooze one time too many or just need to keep the hair off your neck, there's no easier hair style to master than the ponytail. We've spotted ponytails all over the red carpet lately and thank goodness for that. Let's take the ponytail out of the gym and into the office, with a few variations on this simple look.
Alexandra's hair is tied very low in her hair, but the volume on top keeps this style looking fresh. There's no mistaking this style for a post-workout beauty routine.

Tasha parted her dark locks and tied them in a knot at the back of her head to add a little interest to her low ponytail.

Tammy wove a ribbon into her hair to add a little something something to her ponytail. Matching ribbon to your outfit or using a contrasting colour is a great way to accessorize your hair for weddings and parties.

Michelle clipped a feather piece we nicknamed "the squid" into her ponytail. It was a bridesmaid gift from long ago, but with feather extensions already a hot topic this summer, a few feathers in her hair can't hurt.

Jenni's long locks are stunning down on their own, but her braid/ponytail combo is a simple way to keep the hair of her neck in hot weather.

So what do you think of our take on ponytails? How do you wear yours? One lucky commenter will win one of our fabulous prizes this week.

These looks inspire me to try something different than my usual high pony-tail! I like Tasha and Jennie's look. They look quick and easy to do!

I like Alexandra's ponytail the most. I love how it's low and in the front, it looks so natural and really makes her face stand out. I normally wear mine pretty high in the back, not quite Bam Bam, but high because it's so short. It's funky and keeps my neck cool so I like it.

I love wearing my hair in ponytails. My hair is long and in this hot weather it's not always best to leave it down. I like putting my hair in a messy ponytail. Lately I always find myself doing a side braided ponytail. It's easy, can take you from day to night, and can be easily redone if any hairs fall out of place.

I like the ribbon in tammy's hair, but having long hair myself, I'd go with jenni's style

I like Tammy's idea of using ribbon. I like most of these looks but feel that they don't suit everyone. I like wear my pony slightly higher on my head.

I'm addicted to ponytails! I have been braiding some lately and putting that into the mix and today I have a feather hair clip extension in and I have it pulled back. I love Alexandra and Jenni's looks! Do my FB comments count as entries? If so, I won't leave regular ones. Thanks.

Definitely inspiring with all these ideas to vamp up a pony tail. My hair is so long that I find it heavy in a ponytail so through this heatwave it's been in a nice quick bun using spin-pins.

All of the ponytails look so nice! I usually do a traditional high up on my head pony. Seems to suit me better, and I like the way my hair curls out of the ponytail and around my face. Almost looks like a new haircut :)
