Hair Transformation: A Twist on the Ponytail

Posted by ChickAdvisor Team | Monday August 1, 201124 comments
Whether you hit snooze one time too many or just need to keep the hair off your neck, there's no easier hair style to master than the ponytail. We've spotted ponytails all over the red carpet lately and thank goodness for that. Let's take the ponytail out of the gym and into the office, with a few variations on this simple look.
Alexandra's hair is tied very low in her hair, but the volume on top keeps this style looking fresh. There's no mistaking this style for a post-workout beauty routine.

Tasha parted her dark locks and tied them in a knot at the back of her head to add a little interest to her low ponytail.

Tammy wove a ribbon into her hair to add a little something something to her ponytail. Matching ribbon to your outfit or using a contrasting colour is a great way to accessorize your hair for weddings and parties.

Michelle clipped a feather piece we nicknamed "the squid" into her ponytail. It was a bridesmaid gift from long ago, but with feather extensions already a hot topic this summer, a few feathers in her hair can't hurt.

Jenni's long locks are stunning down on their own, but her braid/ponytail combo is a simple way to keep the hair of her neck in hot weather.

So what do you think of our take on ponytails? How do you wear yours? One lucky commenter will win one of our fabulous prizes this week.

I like everyone's ponytail and how you each put your own twist on your
tail's. My hairs very long so I'm always putting it in a tail. I pull
mine straight back and put a Goodie tie as close to my head as I can get
then go down about three inches and place another Goodie tie there and
sometimes I even go another three inches down and put a third Goodie tie
on my tail. I've also put one tie close to my head, split the hair
above the tie in half, then taken the tail and pull it through the split
of the top of the tail giving it a bit of a different look. I use to
have a hair tool that helped me pull all my hair through and into
different shapes, but I can't find it and I can't remember what the
thing was call to try and buy a new one. If anyone thinks then know what
tool I'm talking about please let me know if they still make them and
wear I can buy one.

My hair isn't quite as long as the girls here but nevertheless, I wear it straight back with my bangs kind of loose. I also tend to incorporate a headband/fascinator and/or other fun hair accessories to make up for the length! To top it all off, I usually have a feather extension and/or some fun color in my hair!

I like these ponytails but tend to go for something *slightly* more structured.
