Is This Weird Product The Secret to Clear Skin?

Not too long ago I started having some major skin issues. Like a twitter feud between two celebs, my face and the rest of my body were in constant battle, and things were getting ugly. Since then, my skin has calmed down somewhat (mostly due to prescriptions from my doctor and a good skincare routine), but I've still been experiencing some small crops of pimples.

Since I've been manically searching for a cure, I came across a crazy solution that people seem to swear by: diaper rash cream.

That stuff for baby butts is supposedly excellent for your skin. The active ingredient, zinc oxide, dries out those nasty little buggers. Plus, the cream is great for chapped skin and dry patches (think eczema or rosacea). Apparently, it's also suitable for sensitive skin! It helps to prevent rashes and according to some, it prevents those icky bumps after shaving, especially near your bikini line. I hadn't heard of the benefits of zinc oxide before, but I had heard of just zinc. Zinc is also great for acne prone skin.

While I was initially skeptical about using baby bum cream on my face, I have to say the promising benefits are intriguing. Plus, it can't be worse than haemorrhoid cream, right?

1. Aveeno Baby Diaper Rash Cream (C$9.39)

2. Desitin Maximum Strength Original Diaper Rash Ointment (C$17.99)

3. Now Foods Zinc (C$6.99)

4. Penaten Medicated Cream (C$10.59)

Have you ever tried zinc or zinc oxide for your skin? Let me know how it went and if you recommend it!

I actually use Penaten cream on my blemishes when I first notice them, and it works awesome.

Hmmm... I have never heard of this being used on the face, but I don't see why it wouldn't work!

@Bren yes I read the same thing, it also doesn't really absorb like other creams do so it works more as a face mask.

Interesting I have not heard of this but it makes sense the zinc oxide would be good for blemishes...I know the Penaten is super thick so you would only need a small dab..
