Review Of The Week: Health Clubs and Yoga Studios

Posted by ChickAdvisor Team | Monday October 24, 20117 comments

Let me start by quoting the amazingly sculpted abs Fergie, "My body stay vicious, I be up in the gym, just workin' on my fitness".

Now, that Fergalicious is officially stuck in your head, it's time to talk Review of the Week! If anyone's been using their buns o' steel workout videos, it is definitely Fergie so if you also have a fitness secret to share this week, review it for a chance to win!

Here is what we're looking for: gyms, health clubs, yoga studios, basically, if you go there to break a sweat and as Fergie puts it, 'work on your fitness', then it is eligible. Review it by October 30th and you'll be entered for a chance to win a prize! Review multiple places to get multiple chances to win!

Review Of The Week General Information:

Every week, we'll pick one product category or place we'd like you to write a review of for the chance to win a prize.

You will know what to review each week from the ad (pictured above) you'll see on ChickAdvisor promoting the current Review of the Week challenge. Search for your favourite location in either the Health Club or Yoga Studio or Fitness Miscellaneous Category, or simply click on Write A Review in your dashboard to get started!

If you're not yet a ChickAdvisor member, here's the link to sign up for a free profile - easy!

So put on your workout gear and get started on writing those reviews!

I've only worked out at In Shape. I love the pilates classes there and the Zumba is so popular now, they start lining up an hr ahead of time. I like it because it has so many locations, they have a fantastic daycare, classes, outdoor/indoor pool as well as raquetball, tennis & basketball court. My favorite is the womens gym section. I can go in and not worry about all the guys flexing & pumping iron. Not that I'm not a fan!!! I'm just not in that great of shape!!! LOL

I like Zumba and Aquafit at the local Recreation centres. They both are adaptable to your own level of fitness as well as providing a full body workout. The rec centres are great places to work out as most are open super early am and close later in the evening too so no excuses! There is also quite a variety of options such as your traditional gym equipment, swimming pool, Aquafit, Jazzercises, Yoga, Belly-dancing,Running clubs etc.

I've only ever worked out at Bally and Anytime Fitness. I liked Bally okay but found that it was more for already fit people who wanted to look good while working out - not for those of us trying to get into shape. I LOVE Anytime Fitness because you can go anytime, anywhere in the U.S. (not sure if they have locations outside the U.S.). It's great because it kind of voids the "I don't have time" excuse and also offers those of us who prefer to workout in a more "private" setting the ability to go when there are not so many other people so we can workout without feeling like everyone is looking at us while we are gasping for air...on the floor...writhing in pain...LOL!
